QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Oct 25 2016, 08:38 AM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Oct 25 2016, 02:32 AM) This is, of course, the big problem with the above. It's impossible to maintain a respectful discussion with someone who is so adamant that their opinion is right, mostly because they won't be respectful of someone that they know is wrong. I recall a number of arguments back at Bethsoft about Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim(mostly comparative) that got ugly, or that just started under borderline nonsensical principles. Though some of the mental gymnastics were impressive, in a way. I remember one rather amusing incident where someone was trying to argue that there were more spells, as in different spell types, in Skyrim than in Oblivion. Needless to say that discussion did not go well. Yeah, it's just irritating is all. Khajiit never assumes his opinion on a given subject is superior to anybody else's. In your example about the number of spells being greater in Skyrim is somebody trying to argue something that is blatantly false. They were one of the fanatics that Skyrim generated. Not sure what TES games they'd played previously, but they'd defend Skyrim on any grounds they could, regardless of reality. They actually started that discussion after being all but chased out of another discussion about magic in the TES games, but it was kind of funny to see them try to defend their stance. Every Skyrim spell was counted as unique and distinct, while from Oblivion Drain, damage, restore, and fortify were each considered to be only one spell, despite the menagerie of effects they encompassed QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Oct 25 2016, 08:43 AM) QUOTE(mALX @ Oct 25 2016, 02:38 AM) Er, not me I hope? Edit: On an unrelated note, but not one worth double-posting, I currently have a somewhat irate Altmer Magician blasting his way out of the sewers beneath the Imperial City This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Oct 25 2016, 09:25 AM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 25 2016, 09:35 AM) Another one (soon) bites the dust! Altmer, eh? Don´t you know they are pompous pricks who think the whole world is for their convenience? I have to admit, I do have a soft spot for arrogant mages. I blame a former character of mine; Marcos. He was so much fun to play and to write about But I ran into some internal resistance for some reason, so it looks like Altmer's out of the question. I'll be firing up a Breton as soon as I can put together a name for him. I might even suspend dead is dead for this run...

Wow. That was fast even for you You know that feeling, when a character doesn't feel right? *remembers who I'm talking too* Right, yeah, almost forgot about that Edit: Aargh! Curse the 360's character limit for names! This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Oct 25 2016, 10:00 AM

QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 25 2016, 10:06 AM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Oct 25 2016, 11:00 AM) Edit: Aargh! Curse the 360's character limit for names! Shorter than on the PC? I was going to name him Edwyn Copperhart, but it wouldn't fit. I could've gone with Edwyn Copperhar, but it's just not the same... So I decided to recycle another character name and call him Corrick Ashhart. This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Oct 25 2016, 10:09 AM
