QUOTE(Decrepit @ Oct 30 2016, 08:48 AM) QUOTE(mALX @ Oct 29 2016, 08:52 PM) Is that combat between allies caused by mod conflicts? I have seen a Forester and guard in Bruma fight to the death!
QUOTE(mirocu @ Oct 30 2016, 02:20 AM) That´s in the vanilla game, but yeah I reckon it´s the same thing. I just wondered what was up with the Tireless Crusader! Thanks for letting us know, Decrepit! As mirocu says, the issue is at heart a vanilla failing. I do believe that it is, in my case, greatly exacerbated by certain of the mods I run. I also suspect that at least one mod might possibly trigger occasional "friendly" attacks that would not otherwise occur, but have never been able to prove it. I long ago set a Bash-Patch option that allows more "friendly hits" than normal before triggering aggro to "15", its highest value. It seems to be ignored, at least at times. I've seen many an ally fight break out, and swear a number of them started well before the "friends" had a chance to accidentally hit each that many times. QUOTE(mALX @ Oct 30 2016, 02:27 AM) Your story on here though - it lacks so much of the spontaneous humor that the vids have! The back and forth between Decrepit and Vilja keeps me rolling, and little asides like Decrepit's thoughts on Nerussa, etc.
Heh...yeah, this latest report was more to remind folk that my avatar is alike and kicking (to the limited extent his poor knees allow kicking) than a juicy narrative of his mundane exploits. Speaking of which, I should inform folk that, when I rejoined the gang, Vilja announced she was not hungry. There was nothing for it at that point but to continue their journey. Took only a few minutes to reach home. My avatar bid Vilja good night, consumed a late evening snack (lager - sweetroll) on his private third floor balcony, and retired to bed for the night. He woke circa 0700 next morning, a whole hour past his normal waking hour, broke fast on the balcony (a breakfast sammich made from a muffin, his last egg, his last slice of ham, and cheddar cheese, washed down with cider and polished off by a fig), changed into suitable attire, walked to White Gold Tower, turned in gathered tax, accepted a new tax assignment, and began the day's major endeavor, a cleansing of the city sewers. He elected to do so on his own, having left his ward to her own devices in Weye. He soon came to regret that decision, running in to pockets of very tuff goblins. (Turns out much of his difficulty with them stems from one of their shaman casting multiple disintegrate spells on his sword, which he didn't notice until after the fact.) Be that as it may, he survived. I left him mid afternoon. He plans to return to Weye, dine with Vil, and maybe go for an evening swim in Lake Rumare. Next day? Likely a tax run to Faregyl Inn. We shall see. By the way, this was my first chance to check out a new (to me) texture/mesh replacer: Bettys Sewers (Nexus). It comes in a choice of two variants, "wet" and "dry". I installed the "wet" variant and am VERY impressed. Looks to be a very solid improvement over vanilla. Too bad my avatar so seldom visits those sewers. Then again there's no reason why he can't explore 'em more often. Clearing the Imperial City underground of scum seems something he ought to take an interest in. Who knows?, maybe he'll add it to his list of things to do once every (or every other) patrol cycle. It would be about impossible to bring across your dry wit and personality in writing as you are able to in the vids, but I enjoy both. The vids are a delicacy, rare diamonds among so many gameplay vids out there. I absolutely love them! They are a joy to watch, I hope everyone here has had a chance to see them so when they read about your Decrepit Avatar's travels with Vilja they can be reminded of the humorous back and forth between Decrepit and Vilja on these trips! I will never again be able to see Nerussa without remembering Decrepit's comments on her and laughing! This post has been edited by mALX: Nov 2 2016, 07:05 PM

Sun's Dawn 27, 4th Era 21
Days Passed: 185
Pleasant morning. The party has been getting along mostly, which is nice.
Sleeping outside may not have been a great idea though. She originally did this so the single bed would not need to be shared by her, and also to get away from the constant chatter inside Roxey Inn.
But a vampire visited Renee in the night, and infected her with polypyric hemophilia. Easily cured since she has some mandrake, but now RG3 is on a roll for Barren Cave. The vamps there will pay!
But first, Roland Jenseric's cabin.
Long story short: there's no way Roland could be a vampire. He was greeted while awake in his cabin, with sunlight streaming through the windows. Roland explained that Seridur's really the vampire, which makes sense since he only wants to meet at night.
Went to Barren Cave and took care of most of the vamps in there. The final one was toughest, and mostly because when she followed RG3 out of the cave, it was getting dark, meaning that this vamp's health would not fall due to sunlight.* RG3 almost died.
But now it is late night at Cheydinhal Bridge Inn. Renee has healed herself from vampire's sickness again at the chapel, and is about to go to sleep.
* Maskar's has a cool feature which makes NPC vampires die quicker if they're under sunlight

There you go. Turdas, Sun's Dawn 28 Still in Cheydinahl. An easy day with shopping, a visit to the Imperial Requisition Agent, etc. ---------------------------------------- Fredas, First Seed 1 Days Passed: 187 Early morning: cool pleasant air on the first day of spring. Just as they crew are leaving Cheydinhal Renee remembers she was also supposed to check the Mage's Guild, to try to find Haili. But no luck. Wherever Haili is, she's nowhere to be found. Renee Gade III has no desire to wear her Imperial Legion armor today. It's not for wearing unless the weather is too cold for her custom-made Skyrim armor. (and yeah, this means she's not as committed to being a road patrol as Decrepit is...which is yet another reason why I feel much better knowing there's a full-time avatar who's always on-the-job. ) For speed, she decides the party (Felrika, Gabrielle, and Syssi) shall take the north side of the Red Ring Road, where they've already passed. The entire road should be safe right now, and Renee hasn't got the time to patrol the south side, she's got too much to do back in the Imperial City. There were a few enemies though, despite the road already being cleared a day or two previously. Party stopped at Aleswell Inn, but again, Renee slept outside. So did Fel, but at least Fel was in her full armor suit. This post has been edited by Renee: Nov 4 2016, 01:26 AM

Although I wrote this update maybe a month ago, I still remember it. RG3 had left her entire party outside the cave (to prevent them from going nuts in there, running amok). Then RG3 would go in, try to kill a vampire while inside the place, but sometimes they are simply too powerful, because they are in their own lair. Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul makes them more powerful if it's dark, you see. But if they get lured outside, they'll now begin losing health, as long as it's daylight. Problem was, that very last vamp ... she lured it out while the sun was already down. And so even though the rest of her party was fighting the thing, the vampire itself kept focusing on RG3, which made it tough to heal her because she's running the entire time. Renee´s modding spree almost killed her character. I bet that came up the following Monday morning meeting ---------------------------- Lothran has just spent a nice evening in the Imperial City. Visiting friends and enjoying the city has been on the agenda and come late evening he booked a room at the hotel in Talos Plaza. It was nice and quiet in the lounge where he sat down for a moment before going to bed. No disturbances whatsoever. He has just woken up and is putting his boots on and is about to go pay a visit to Umbacano´s home to look at the statues.

What friends does Lothran have in the Imperial City? Just curious. Loredas, First Seed 2 Days Passed: 188 When Renee Gade III woke up on this day, it was cold and foggy, and she was only wearing her flimsy Xena armor. She quickly changed into her Imperial armor suit, got the others ready to go. Made it back home by mid-morning, and by noon was finely dressed, selling some things she found in the markets, with the whole party present. Early afternoon: Jensine told them a "red-haired lady" was curious to know if any adventurers would be around* for hire, and (long story short) Renee is to go to Fort Homestead to confront a marauder/merchant there who has been extorting money from Delos Fandas of The Feed Bag. After picking up this quest from Jensine, and meeting the red-haired lady, it was time to go to the spa for hours. SOAK! Then they went to visit Seridur's place, once it began getting dark. By the time they left, Seridur had refused to believe Roland is not a vampire, so RG3 decided to have a look in Seridur's house the next day (during daylight) to see if he's in there sleeping. If Seridur has a habit of sleeping during the day, wouldn't it seem he'd be more likely to be one of those damned undead? Hmm... Rain began falling late in the night, and the sky got cold. * Test Quest 11--In this one, I experimented with Escort packages (like when Jollring escorts us up the stairs to see Umbacano). The red-haired lady mentioned in this update wanted to hire RG3 and her followers, but she wanted Renee to follow her to a quieter corner of The Feed Bag. You folks wouldn't believe how complicated it is to get this sort of thing to work! This post has been edited by Renee: Nov 6 2016, 02:38 AM

I had no idea you could be visited by a vampire sleeping outside the Roxey! That is Awesome! Your modded game is so much more exciting than the vanilla game, so I wondered if this was something you added or in the vanilla? Either way, I LOVE it !!!! 1. Lothran hasn´t set out specifically to find them all and sometimes when he´s passed a ruin he may not have felt like going in, so there you go 2. Lothran did find six statues but he kept the rest for himself. Then when the other quest came along he simply followed that to its conclusion. I hope my answers were satisfactory

Lothran did find six statues but he kept the rest for himself. Then when the other quest came along he simply followed that to its conclusion. I hope my answers were satisfactory Well, the first time I played it through was on the XBox 360; and I did lose out on some of the pay for the statues in that one because (like you) I followed that second questline through thinking I could still continue the first. Then my 360 got the RROD, and the store gave me a whole new XBox in replacement, so I had to start the game over from scratch on the new machine. My first character had like 9,000 hours on her game when that happened! Anyway, that happened again after they extended the RROD repair/replacement policy; so I had to restart a third time. By then, I kind of had really started enjoying running those early quests again, so I started making a new game every time she reached the end of having done everything. With all those restarts, I kind of knew in advance to turn in all the statues before finishing that other quest, lol. I also learned to get both crowns, and give him the real crown. Wow, what a fight; and Maxical ended up with both crowns and the staff of Nenalata = great ending to both quests; and even better when she retrieved them later and used them to decorate her own Skingrad home.

mirocu: Oh that's cool. He has people he goes and talks to. I don't know this stuff since you don't write stories. (hint, hint) mALX: There are two mods affecting vampire stuff in RG3's game: Vampire Hunting and Maskar's Oblivion Overhaul. Vampire Hunting basically extends the Virtuous Blood questline by 100x! Maskar's affects the actual vampire gameplay.... like they cannot stay outside too long in sunlight, or they'll roast. I am not sure which one of these mods caused her to get bitten though. But it happens more easily if she sleeps outside. I appreciate your kind words, but there's no way I'd put my stuff on Nexus. I will share amongst friends though. If you ever play Oblivion again, I can easily write you (or anyone else) a quest which centers around your character. I forgot to mention though--in Test Quest 11 I also experimented with putting the 'kill' command into a script. So when RG3 meets the guy she's supposed to confront, he immediately goes into shock and has a heart attack. I thought this was a more creative way to do things, rather than the usual "pwn" an enemy would receive. I will post some screenies of this later, perhaps.
