Thanks happy.gif.

Wish my dad would get me a badass gun for Christmas! I'd be happy with a 9mm in an autoloader or 357 in a revolver.

Like 'rocu, I've got a .357 magnum. It is a Taurus revolver though.

The .44 seems like it would be quite handy in a dual purpose kinda way. You know, both home defense and remodeling when you need to take down a wall or two. tongue.gif

My revolver is a .44, not a 357. Not even in the mag config;)

I have the 30-ought for that but some people seem to think it´s overkill. Dunno why wink.gif

Oops, sorry, mirocu.

My .357 is loaded with hollowpoint semijackets so all energy goes to the first target. That is specifically to prevent the bullet from continuing through walls and into my neighbor's house. Hell of an impact for the first target though. . . .

My Derringer is a .357 with a 3.5 inch barrel, thanks to the rubber grip I bought for it-it's become my favorite conceal carry---although I can use my .44 Magnum as a conceal carry but I need some hollow points for it if I'm going to carry it out in public for protection.

Here's some photos of what the bullet holes look like for both my handguns.

Hmm. My expert eyes tell me the .44 holes are a little bit bigger.

What surprised me was the exit holes in the drum I shot with my .22 lever. FMJ but still really nasty ones, even from the distance I was shooting at it from.

Oddly enough both guns sounded the same---but that .44 Magnum still kicked like the dickens but OH SO wonderful to shoot.

Yeah, I would imagine they don´t sound too far apart from each other. In reality it´s very hard to distinguish one caliber from another even if they are far apart. You´d probably have to be a sound expert in order to even have a chance to pull that off tongue.gif

Funny thing I can tell what kind of guns my neighbors are shooting at most I can tell a 45 ACP and a 9mm. But one thing's for sure my neighbors didn't enjoy my AK-47 when I had it, that sucker was LOUD.

Maybe it´s different with handguns? I can absolutely not tell if someone is shooting with a 6,5-55, .308 or .30-06.

I would not enjoy that either. Unless I had standing invitation to shoot with it myself whenever you did tongue.gif

Man I remember when my Dad and I went to the gun range and he shot that .30-06 he had, it sounded like a canon going off.

It really is like shooting with a canon, just ask my shoulder laugh.gif

Though really it´s not so bad. The 9,3-62 I had was way worse. Shot with it eight times one Saturday morning at the range, come Sunday evening I still felt it rollinglaugh.gif

I think one rifle I would LOVE to shoot is the BMG .50, I don't care what brand I just want to shoot that once.
