Kallis has finally reached Bravil, though she hasn't entered the town yet. It's turning towards evening now and she's been looking for somewhere outside of the town to rest up before crossing the bridge in the morning. She doesn't know what she'll find, but judging by the looks of things outside the place, it's doubtful she'll find much that's prosperous. Meanwhile, she's found another of those ancient marble ruins to search through - this one full of mystery lights, tree-women, and other exotica... ------------- Ok, so now, there's gonna be a short gap wherein yours truly has to do a bit of fiddling about in the CS to sort out Bravil for the purposes of the story...! On the other hand it'll allow me to continue Niamh and Lucy's story as well... It's all very exciting! This post has been edited by PhonAntiPhon: Nov 28 2016, 01:39 PM

QUOTE(Renee @ Nov 28 2016, 12:48 AM) mirocu: Is Lothran pretty much set with money? Is he wealthy? I figure he is after all this time.
In terms of Septims he's not. But he has tons of loot and gems he could sell off if he wanted. He mostly keeps his cash to about 15.000 or under. No reason really. Today he actually did sell some stuff but not because he needed the money. Sometimes you just gotta get rid of junk, right? It's late morning and he just got an apple at the Jerall View @Phon - While in Bravil, tell Kallis to look out for Lothran´s house but also to not dip her fingers in the till, mkey? Daggerfall Silanu is still in Daggerfall, levelling up until she can go look for Nulfaga, by doing random Mages and Fighters quests.
Morrowind Silanu is in Ebonhart, where she's just done all of the lay healer quests at once, and got a few promotions.
Skyrim Silanu (who is Archmage already) is back in Whiterun doing some shopping.
Oblivion Silanu has just finished the Mages Guild Recommendations, so she's enchanting her Riding Crop to make it extra-tingly! She has Shock damage and Weakness to shock on it, so we'll see how that stacks up (pun intended).

Weye, Cyrodiil, Turdas, Mid-Year 10, 3E436, 5:55am. My decrepit avatar, clad in Champion's leg armor, chest and back plates, sturdy leather boots, glass arrow filled quiver on back, stands at Weye Manor foyer entrance door, about to exit the premises and walk to the Imperial City to gather shipping and patrol assignments for the gang's imminent journey to Bravil, final stop of their current road patrol circuit. He will visit the capitol on his own, allowing his ward to sleep in and breakfast at her leisure . . . so long as she is ready to head out on his return.
Backtracking to where we left off last report, we find my avatar and Vilja lunching in Newlands Lodge, Cheydinhal, reclaiming their beasts, riding the Blue to Weye, taking an afternoon swim in Lake Rumare, visiting the Imperial City Waterfront District, requesting a Gold Horse Courier shipping assignment, shopping in the Market District, eating a formal dinner at Temple District All-Saints Inn, accepting a Merchants Guild shipping assignment, and returning to Weye, where my avatar bid his ward goodnight and went straight to his bed, pausing only long enough to change into a comfy robe.
Waking circa 0530, Mid Year 9, my avatar slipped on comfortable shoes and hood, and broke fast on his private third floor balcony. He then re-entered the Manor, changed into Champion's leg armor, chest and back plates, quiver, and hood (retained), stuck his nose in Vil's bedroom long enough to light its fireplace, walked to White Gold Tower, helped Tower guards battle an invading bandit, accepted a looted glass shield and several Welkynd Stones for his assistance during the fight, entered the Department of Security, swapped leather boots for metal footwear, donned Champion's helm and gauntlets, accepted a road patrol assignment, returned to Weye Manor, collected his ward from the manor's dining room where she had been enjoying breakfast with the staff, put Wolfgang on notice, exited the building, claimed their mounts and Groucho (stowing Tower loot in one of Groucho's packs) and hit the road for Skingrad.
The patrol itself went well. Fine weather. Pleasing roadside scenery. As is their norm, they stopped en route at Ceyatatar to rid its grounds of any miscreants. A Frost Atronach was spotted at distance atop the ruin, an outcast mage close by. The Atronach was disposed of via archery. The mage stood by apparently oblivious to it all. The gang snuck forward to confront the fellow. (I remind you that my avatar's modus operandi with humanoid foes is to allow them first strike should they choose not to flee. He will NOT pepper them with arrows unaware, but only once they acknowledge his presence and initiate hostile intent.) The gang cautiously continued on until very near the mage, who by then looked as though he wanted to escape but could find no path that didn't draw himself to them. As they climbed the steps that would bring them face to face with the foe, Vilja was suddenly and unexpectedly spell blasted from behind. Turns out the mage to their front was a decoy to allow his partner to get the drop on them. Not that it mattered. My avatar quickly reversed himself, rushing the rearward mage, while Vil and Wolfgang ran forward and attacked the decoy. Both villains were soon lying in a pool of their own blood. Both were checked for loot, netting a few decently valued potions and one nice dagger. As for the Gold itself, its numerous reprobates, all bestial, were brought down at distance by archery, several at considerable range.
At Skingrad, they first visited the Vineyard to doublecheck with Tamika as to where her current wine consignment is to be delivered. (Brina Cross Inn.) They next tracked down the city's Gold Horse Courier agent, who was not on duty but instead lunching at Two Sisters Lodge. That package delivered they themselves trudged to West Weald Inn, there to turn in a second shipment to a Merchants Guild representative and down a not-overly-hasty but not-quite-leisurely repast. Meal consumed, my avatar changed metal footwear for leather boots but elected to forgo gloves and helm, having jettisoned them just prior to eating. (His thought was that, with the Gold having been cleansed, full armour was not essential. They then exited first the Inn, then the City, claimed their beasts and began the trek home.
Nothing untoward happened en route, except for a stone atronach who materialized seeming out of nowhere. My avatar attempted to bring it down by archery. It proved too close, though he managed one solid hit before entering melee. The ensuing struggle ended quickly enough, Wolfgang and Groucho taking minor damage, which my avatar healed on the spot (as he always does in these situations). They arrived home in time for my avatar to gobble down an evening snack before calling it a day.
Waking a tad before 0600 he again slipped on comfy shoes and hood and breakfasted on his third floor balcony. (And yes, he remained in the robe he wore to bed. Get your mind out of the gutter.) That done he re-entered the manor, changed into travel gear virtually indentical to that worn the day before, again checked in on Vilja, letting her sleep in, and as mentioned at the very beginning, is about to leave home and walk to IC to gather assignments.

"So this elf walks into the bar, an' no, that's not a joke. She walked into the Suitor bold as you please, an' I looked at 'er, an' fer a minute I just wanted to call fer me mum."
"Why? I'll tell ya. The Armor, that's why. The last elf what walked into Bravil wearin' that armor and ended up in my tavern was... well, you know, HER, an' you know 'ow that ended, don't ya?"
"Well exactly, I know she was... diff'rent, you know I know that, but I saw her 'anged an' I know, I Know, she died. Put poor Luciana through only the Nine knew what troubles fer months after, an' she still ain't right now, what wiv that shrine an' all, an' not wanting to lose... Niamh's... 'ouse."
"I'm comin' to it! "It was 'er armor, see? Niamh's, an' this Elf, well fing is I just saw that at first an' I thought, I thought: it's Niamh! An' then I thought, na, it can't be, she's dead and gone these years past, you know that, like I said before..."
"I know. So then I looked at 'er face an I knew it wasn't 'er but that's anuvva fing, she looked like anuvva what I saw through the door about, what? must 'ave been two year ago now."
"Yeah, same blueish skin, same tat on the forehead, same green eyes and sort of all posh-lookin'. Not like any Mer I've seen, 'cept fer the uvver one, only SHE 'ad this bright ginger-red 'air and was even more posh-lookin'."
"No, I mean, this one looked... she looked like a soldier, only a commander, used to givin' orders an' wiv that same... manner about 'er."
"No, Luci 'adn't seen 'er then, an' this one jus' walked up to me, An' she says 'Are you the Landlord?' "Well, I nearly...you know... messed meself! She sounded jus' like Niamh, an' jus' like the uvver one - like she was both of 'em togevver! I tell ya, it was the weirdest fing..."
"Well I said I was, didn't I? But I says, I says to 'er; 'You look familiar...' and she says, wiv that accent an' all, she asks me: 'How do you mean?'"
"Well I told 'er, I said about the armor, an' 'ow 'er face looked an' all, an' she sort of touched 'er face an' looked puzzled, but puzzled like she'd been 'earing that a lot, you know?"
"I didn't ask! Whatever's goin' on I'm not gettin' involved again, not after last time."
"No, I 'ave a soft spot fer Luciana, an' I wanted to do right by 'er, an' I felt sorry fer Niamh - after what Luci 'ad told me, but I'm not gettin' involved again."
"I told 'er to go speak to Luci, yeah, but I told 'er to take it easy, Luciana was never the strongest an' that whole business took it right out of 'er, fer definite."
"I dunno, she went downstairs an' there was shoutin' fer a bit, an' then it went quiet..."

I s'pose there isn't a log for how many circuits you have completed, Decrepit? ---------------- Early in the morning Lothran decided to clear out Plundered Mine, first time for the season. He went in guns blazin' and didn't sneak at all. His trusty Spriggan did her job fine and what was left Lothran took care of himself with the usual combo of spells and the weapon of choice; Goldbrand. Also tested the new Snowflake's Curse spell on a bandit west of the North gate. It really made a difference having Paralyze for 3 secs instead of 1. Plenty of hits with Snowflake during those seconds This post has been edited by mirocu: Dec 4 2016, 09:14 PM

Weye Manor, Cyrodiil, Fredas, Mid-Year 11, 3E436, 9:03pm. An hour before his preferred bedtime, my avatar stands at bedside clad in the robe he just changed into. He debates watching the night sky from his private balcony or calling it an early evening. That morning he had all but settled on a patrol of the Gold to Anvil, and was about visit the Imperial City to gather assignments for said trip when, much to my surprise, he had a change of heart. He made an abrupt about face, returned to the second floor, roused Vilja (No . . . NOT aroused . . . come on now!) and informed her that they were heading to Charcoal Cave posthaste. They stuck their heads in Wawnet Inn long enough to break fast, claimed their beasts (except Wolfgang, who would remain in the Manor), and rode Red Ring and the Green to their destination. (Not much to say about the ride, that stretch of roads having but cleared of miscreants only the day prior.) As to the cave itself, their work was sloppy, especially early on. It's to be expected I suppose. They have not cleared a dungeon together in ever so long. (I remind you that my avatar's periodic cleansing of Rockmilk are almost the only activity he performs solo.) They survived it, which is good enough. Amassed a decent but not exceptional amount of loot, including several valuable pieces. No enchanted chalice, but it was always a long-shot at best. The ride home was uneventful. My avatar ate supper in front of the Manor foyer fireplace, bid his ward goodnight, and retired to his third floor private bedroom, where this missive began. Renee – It was a dark and stormy day when Renee was hunting vampires. . . . Phon – Niamh has certainly left a wake of memories in Cyrodiil – as Luciana and, now, Kallis can attest. Mirocu – I’m glad Lothie’s first Plundered run of the winter worked well. Even more pleased that the old warlock keeps managing to make Buffy’s modest Snowflake an effective weapon – just one of many reasons a piece of her heart will always belong to him. Decrepit – When your avatar is on patrol or resting at his manor in Weye, it just seems like all is well in Cyrodiil.

Cool, I like this a lot. I like it when several people are writing. ------------------ Loredas, First Seed 16, early morningDays Passed: 202 The morning is cold, frost has formed on the grass and trees*, and fog hangs in the air since it rained last night. Party arrives to Barren Cave by late morning, and by mid-afternoon, six vampires had been lured out and killed by Renee Gade III. The sun was now out by now, yet the vampires of Barren Cave would go mad with rage that they couldn't just kill the intruder who'd kept piercing their lair. And once outside, they'd face not just the sun, but two extra enemies to fight. But soon it was getting dark, and there were still some vamps in there. The party would spend the night in Cheydinhal, except that Felrika was nowhere to be seen! Renee decided to just take her horse and Jada into town anyway. Fel's a big girl. Turns out, she had wandered slightly away from where the rest of the party was. Renee managed to find her the next morning, standing slightly south of the road, across from Barren Cave. She'd been out there all night, apparently. *this seems to be an effect of All Natural's closest fog option, whatever it's called. It makes the grass look covered in frost. I'd post pictures but I'm too lazy tonight. QUOTE(mALX @ Dec 5 2016, 06:40 PM) Don't be tempted. If you murder someone, the Dark Brotherhood comes to you in your sleep! Weye, Cyrodiil, Sundas, Mid-Year 13, 3E436, 6.28pm. My decrepit avatar, his ward and their wolf have just entered the Manor, ending a two-day excursion that saw them ride the Gold from Weye to Anvil and back again. They will most likely change into comfy clothes and end their day with a meal at Wawnet Inn followed by an evening swim in Lake Rumare, time allowing.
We last observed my avatar standing bedside in his third floor private quarters, debating whether to call it an early evening or spend the hour remaining until his accustomed bedtime observing Cyrodill's night sky from his balcony. In the end he split the different, watching the sky 30min, then hitting the sack.
Up at 05:30am next morning, he broke fast on the balcony, changed into travel attire, walked to White-Gold Tower, helped Tower guards battle invading bandits (and one goblin), grabbed a patrol assignment at the Department of Justice, left White-Gold, solicited a Skingrad delivery assignment from the Merchants Guild, accepted a Gold Horse Courier Anvil shipping commission, returned to Weye, gathered the gang, and headed out on patrol.
The ride between Weye and Skingrad was blessedly uneventful, they having rid that section of miscreants only days prior. Fine weather too! In Skingrad they delivered their Merchants Guild package, exchanging it for an Anvil consignment. They paused from a quick meal at West Weald before continuing on.
This proved not so quick as my avatar hoped. When asked, Vil swore she was not hungry. My avatar therefore ordered food for himself and set down to munch. Vilja seated herself on the opposite end of the room. My avatar had all but finished his repast when his ward began to complain of being hungry. Cursing under his breath he approached her, asking once again if she wanted something to eat. The response . . . “Yes, I'm starving!†Much as he dislikes needless delay while on official duty, their tasks were 'not' time sensitive. He had the good grace to allow her a meal, while he sat nearby twiddling his thumbs, eager to be on his way.
Sated, they departed the city, first checking with Tamika to verify that her current wine consignment was slated for Brina Inn . . . it was. They encountered surprisingly little peril between Skingrad and Anvil, which would come back to haunt them during the return trip next day. The ride was interrupted only by those few miscreants they did encounter, and stops at Gottshaw Inn to gather taxes-due and Brina for Tamika wine delivery. Additionally, after helping a Kvatch County West Tower guard defeat a rampaging ogre, he noticed that most of her armor had been badly damaged or broken during the struggle. Repairs were performed before the gang resumed their westward trek.
As things turned out, they entered Anvil as chapel bells rang 10pm. My avatar paused at the gate long enough to pay the guard on duty three weeks additional rent, decided it was a bit late in the day to deliver shipments, walked to Benirus Manor, changed into robe, downed a late-night snack sitting in front of the foyer fireplace, bid Vil goodnight, and went straight to bed.
Up again circa 6:30am, he dressed in travel attire, roused Vil, delivered their Gold-Horse Courier shipment, delivered the Merchants Guild shipment, breakfasted at The Count's Arms and departed the city. No longer on official patrol duty they were at liberty to take the shortcut trail between Anvil and the Gold Road Kvatch exit, shaving a not inconsiderable amount of time off their journey. (It was during this leg of their ride that my avatar demonstrated remarkably inept marksmanship during a confrontation with an ogre, not that it affected the outcome in the slightest.) As they reached the shortcut-trail / Gold intersection the previous day's lack of challenge caught up with them. There, they rode into an ongoing battle between an ogre and two patrolling legionnaires, who appeared to be assisting a merchant's hired guard. My avatar finished off the beast, by then very near death in any case. Only afterward did he notice an unaccounted for horse on the road nearby, its owner sprawled lifelessly at roadside.
They were assailed too frequently between there and Skingrad, for the most part by humanoids who had had the good common sense to remain hidden in the bushes as the gang rode by the day before. More disturbing, in almost every case those villains managed to get the drop on the gang by waiting until my avatar was scanning the opposite direction before rushing them from concealment roadside. Such tactics proved inadequate, beyond the gang requiring additional healings, Wolfgang and Arrowspeed in particular.
They stopped at Skingrad only long enough to accept payment from Tamika for their recent Brina wine delivery, and to grab a new wine consignment (to Bruma). My avatar suggested a meal break. Vil again declined. He, not being especially hungry himself, decided to press on.
The ride between Skingrad and Weye went smoothly save for one bestial encounter. Despite numerous unanticipated battles they made good time between Anvil and Weye, arriving home in ample time for a formal restaurant meal should they so choose, as mentioned at this report's beginning.
