I know what you mean about a fractured family Cheshire. I've got an aunt I rarely see, since she always seems to have a reason why she can't make it to family gatherings. Which means I rarely see my cousin. Which sucks since we have a lot in common.
And my christmas day comes in three parts: morning at my mum's with my sister, picked up by my dad for lunch with my uncle(still with my sister), and then the rest of the day investigating my presents -------------------- A mind without purpose will walk in dark places
