I feel for ya man, I also feel sorry for a lot of people here in the US that live in states and cities that impose borderline unlawful Gun Control laws. When I get this new play pretty out of layaway I'll shoot it for the both of us.

I have just found a Swedish gun organisation I'm gonna join. They work for the interest of legal gun owners and I feel it might be good to have them in the back. It's not expensive either

So is it legal to buy hollowpoint ammo in the US? Khajiit asks because he thinks maybe a 9mm would be a good home defense hand gun but he has concerns about stopping power. Wouldn't hollowpoint rounds increase the stopping power of this ammo type?

Hollowpoints have good expansion and are much less likely to go straight through so yes, good defense option around the house. As for stopping power though I'd go with what Acadian and his buds preferred; the .45 round.


But why wouldn't they be legal to buy in the US? After all, it is a country where in most states you are allowed to defend yourself.

Khajiit knows nothing about the laws regarding these things here. Didn't know if there was some kind of law against special round types like that.

I would say on the contrary; they are recommended in self defense situations.

I saw a youtube video today where a guy in the UK talked about firearms application forms. Apparently they have a limit as to how many rounds one is allowed to purchase to a firearm. The limit seems to be at 500 rounds; I bought a thousand to my .22 and I could have gotten much more if I wanted. In fact, I think the guy offered me packs of 1000, 3000 or 5000 rounds!

In some aspects the UK is better than us, for example they don't have a stupid "four guns maximum unless you have very specific needs for a fifth and a sixth weapon". They can get up to ten shotguns if they want. But that ammo limit took me by surprise tbh.

Hollow point ammunition is legal in the US. It is useful for defense or hunting, but is more expensive than basic full metal jacket ammo.

I buy it all the time, experts say its the perfect self defense round, even my .44 Magnum has Hollow Point rounds in it. I might even buy Hollow Points for Big Bertha when I get her.
