And now you've got me thinking "A Night at the Opera" and listening to " Death on two legs" again.

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Jan 20 2017, 10:52 AM) I'm still listening to those Nightwish albums. Having a hard time deciding which I like more of the three.
The only problem with them is that I keep getting Phantom of the Opera stuck in my head
This one fails to see the problem here! \m/ A bit of a change of pace for me, but I just heard this song on the Nirvana station on Pandora! Always good to hear old favorites!

QUOTE(Cain @ Jan 31 2017, 10:28 AM) Khajiit digs Xandria. They pop up on Nightwish Radio on Pandora from time to time (being that they are similar bands) Here's a few of Khajiit's favorites that he's heard on there: IndiaKill the SunIsis OsirisThis post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Jan 31 2017, 06:17 PM

Haven't done a lot of music listening lately other than the music that accompanies GOT TV series episodes. (Season 6 episode 10 contains particularly fine music even by GOT's normally high standard.) However, last night I listened to two rondos. The first is Mozart's Ronda in D Major K.485 performed by Viviana Sofronitsky on fortepiano, seen in what in classical music circles might be deemed a somewhat gimmicky video format. This piece is not a particular favorite of mine, but enjoyable and of course very Mozartian. Hearing the Mozart reminded me that I had not listened to a favorite rondo in ages, that being Beethoven's Rondo a capriccio in G Major, Op.129 "Rage Over a Lost Penny". The performer is Misuzu Tanaka on modern grand piano.

DudebrothermancactusguyholygoddamnjiffieroastingI just found out that Utada Hikaru, one of my favorite Japanese musicians, did a collab with KOHH, another Japanese artist who's on an undeniable rise in the J-Hiphop scene! I almost had a moment of hesitation; keyword being ALMOST. I clicked the video and boom-shakalaka was I not disappointed in the very least. The song in general is very haunting, especially Utada Hikaru's aetherial vocals (and might I just add that her bobcut is totally bob cute? HONHONHONHON Eiffel Tower). KOHH's part was beautiful too, but in an alien way that I'm usually not accustomed to. His was more like an anguished and painful declaration rather than the sublime sniper flow he usually boasts; in this case, I think it was deliberate, since the song is obviously about heartbreak and all that jazz. Hohooooo boy, now my interest in J-music is renewed once again, all thanks to these two.

Her voice is very beautiful; and I think haunting is a good descriptor. And KOHH is fantastic! I wasn't a fan of the way they did that vid, would have preferred to see them in full camera view throughout and without all the symbolistic shadows (etc) - but they were wonderful!

Just goes to show how popular these two are LOL The beginning sequencewas kinda organic and a little too ... Bjork-ish for me but the shadow play at the middle part —especially where a slowly opening ray of light was strategically placed under Hikki's eyes so it looked she was crying tears of light— was Mmm mmm mmmm! for me. She's so beautiful!

She's so beautiful! Yes, it was like a throw-back to the 60's or something in the beginning, not as effective as it was intended imho. The shadow effect was a little too overt of a touch, like a giant arrow pointing to what they want you to look at. And like you said, she is beautiful - shouldn't be hidden in shadow. I did see the tear effect on her, but was glad when they finally brought her out (not to mention that they brought both from the shadows in the same way; and he had no tear effect). I love the song, love the singers - would prefer to see it with both of them full frontal so I don't miss a second of their performance with all the staging.
