Do I understand that you are basically making wooden pallets - like the kind a fork lift uses to move cargo around on?

If so , I should imagine that it is like a lot of industrial 'make something' jobs in that once your quality is satisfactory that speed becomes the goal.

A lifetime ago, I was a young bricklayer for a few years. Most of us could lay bricks well, but the top masons were those who could also do it fast. They were more valuable to the bosses.

Yup, you pretty much nailed both things here. And the boss actually told me to slow down a bit a couple of times so he didn't demand full speed from a newbie anyway which is good.

Between 7 and 4. The others start at 6:45 but since I'm not hired I'm not allowed to work more, they explicitly said that at the agency.

And get this; I still have to apply for other jobs and then report them as usual!!!
