It was actually sort of a qualified guess as a ) I didn't recognize the other round at all and b ) I have that round myself. Got it by mistake when ordering ammo from my BP dealer.

I've been wandering if the Judge can safely fire the .44 Magnum round but unless a professional can demonstrate it safely I'm not going to take any risk.

What's odd about the .44 Mag in my Judge is that the bullet fits perfectly the unsure part come from the pressure the load gives off when fired. The 45 is more powerful then the 44 Mag but the gun itself may or may not be design to handle the pressure if there's a difference.

Vice the gun at a safe place with a .44 round in the cylinder, tie a looooong string to the trigger, and get behind a solid object. Then pull the string and if you still have a gun left, then you’re good! Maybe try it a few times to make sure it’s ok after multiple firings.*
