This is a case where I actually believe it was done because of the creator wanting to be an artist, first and foremost. Money is always involved of course but I do think he wanted his film to be praised as a true work of art.

By the way, the aramusha didn't need the buff it got and it's ridiculous that heavy attacks are practically as fast as light attacks now.
