I thought I would make a separate mod topic for Fallout 4, since having mods for FO3, NV, and 4 would be a little crowded for one thread. I started FO4 a few days ago, and quickly came across some must have mods to simply play the game at all. The Fallout 4 Script Extender - F4SE = Just like the other Beth games, this is a necessary utility. Mod Organizer 2.0 = The successor to FOMM, for your mod installing and load order sorting needs. Not as good as FOMM, but it is better than nothing. LooksMenu = This gives you a list of body parts to choose from when creating a character, rather than playing hunt-the-pixel by mousing over every speck of your characters face to see what you can change and what you cannot. Valkyr Female Face and Body Textures = A much more natural-looking texture. Not as plastic and shiny looking as the vanilla textures are. Ponytail Hairstyles = From our old friend Azar. Because you never want the vanilla hair in a Bethesda game. CC's Improved Hair Colors = Because every hair color in the vanilla game is brown. True Eyes = Improved eye textures. Face Ripper = For copying faces between characters. Full Dialog Interface = So you actually know what we are saying. Dot Instead Of Crosshair = Gives you a small, unobtrusive dot instead of those big ugly crosshairs. As an added bonus you can actually see exactly what you are aiming at. Moon Size Adjuster = Allows you to make the moon larger. A little bit goes a long way. I went with 1.5x, the smallest increase. Moon - Beautiful Hi Res Texture = Looks much better than the vanilla moon. Visible Galaxy 4k = Comes with the stars too. Much better than the vanilla night sky. No Smoking = Because its gross. Not to mention there would not be any cigarettes or cigars lefter after 200 years. This post has been edited by SubRosa: Dec 30 2016, 12:08 AM

QUOTE(Kane @ Apr 5 2018, 07:09 AM) F4SE and SKSE64 are now both updated, and apparently SKSE64 is now in beta.
Woohoo!

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Apr 5 2018, 06:37 PM) I have used Nifskope to change the texture files that a mesh uses. And in Fallout 4 the material files. Why they added that is beyond me. A material file is just a list of texture files. But that is all.
So if Khajiit wanted to eliminate an item (like an out of place scarf) on an outfit, how would he do that?

So if Khajiit wanted to eliminate an item (like an out of place scarf) on an outfit, how would he do that? A lot will depend on whether there's anything underneath. They'll often delete the faces that are covered, as they won't get rendered anyway. If you remove the scarf, there might be a hole in the mesh. And modifying a single mesh (as opposed to deleting a separate piece) is something that needs a modelling tool, not just NifSkope. Late thought: scarves are often added as a way to hide an ugly neck seam, because the body/head textures don't match. That can be a lot of work to fix. Ok so, after playing around with the two most popular vampire mods for F4, Khajiit feels he can now post his opinions. Now this will only cover the basic gameplay changes; this one will not be getting into too much detail with some of the features of Nuka Sanguinare (Khajiit has not gotten far enough to test some of the settlement features of that mod). Nuka Sanguinare- Pros: Feeding on the living (bound to the ‘R’ key on the menu while the cursor is on a person), vampire abilities (night vision, healing, buff) are bound to items in the “Aid” inventory menu so you can favorite them to use as needed, combat feeding, sun damage is present right at the start, includes craftable coffins for sleeping, includes a plantable version of Bloodleaf that harvests blood from settlers (somehow) which you can harvest from the plant in turn, two vanilla blood packs can be converted to a new bloodpack which will actually count towards your feeding (design decisions by the mod author to avoid compatibility issues) Cons: Sun damage is wonky (during daylight hours if you are inside and stand under a bright light source you will take sun damage), no “gentle” feeding a la TES (feeding on friendly NPCs will always start a fight; you can and should sneak while feeding on friendly npcs as you can sneak away and come back later and they still like you), your “blood pool” decreases a little too quick for Khajiit’s taste (more so if use the vampire abilities as they are fueled by blood) requiring frequent feeding which can get a bit hairy if there aren’t any convenient Raiders around Vasaki- Pros: allows you to bottle blood for later (similar to the “dine and dash” cannibal perk from New Vegas), includes a “settings” holotape you can craft/insert via console that allows you to tweak multiple vampire options (such as rate of bloodhunger), vampire abilities are automatically added upon acquiring the perks for vampirism (you will jump much higher than normal, etc) so no activating abilities required Cons: feed off the dead rather than the living (no feeding on the living at all), sun damage is activated by going a period of time without feeding and requires an additional perk besides the main one (accessed through the settings tape) In Khajiit’s opinion, Nuka Sanguinare does more to make it actually feel like a different experience rather than just a rebranded Cannibal Perk. It’s not perfect, not by a long shot, but it’s not bad considering. Vasaki is a decent mod too though. The inclusion of the settings holotape was a very good idea (wish Sanguinare had a way to slow down your blood cravings). Basically, it really just depends on what you want a vampire mod to do, and to Khajiit, Sanguinare simply checks more boxes. This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Apr 7 2018, 08:13 PM

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Apr 13 2018, 04:21 PM) The automatic part does not matter. Down toward the bottom of the CK topic's first page there is a list of different property modifiers for the Omods. There are several that affect accuracy, like Max/Min Cone Degrees, and ConeIronSightsModifier Ooh forgot that was there! Thanks!

Hecate has about 1800 downloads so far. So a lot of people do. If you are not very good at making faces, or just don't want to take the time, it is a great thing. I download them all the time. They give me starting points for all my characters. Though by the time I am finished they look very different. For example, Victoria started out as Alice. Persephone started out with one of the Ciri presets as a base.

LC-1 Laser Carbine = adds a good-looking laser carbine. Operation Cleansweep = A retexture of the Covert Ops magazines. It is just the normal maps, so it is compatible with mods like glow mags, that add glow maps to the magazines to make them easier to see. Nuclear Dawnguard = an HD eye retexture that adds Dawnguard style vampire eyes. It would go great with those vampire mods.

I find that the Glowing Eyes mod makes for good vampire eyes too... This post has been edited by TheCheshireKhajiit: Apr 19 2018, 10:20 PM
