Speaking of cleaning, Khajiit just bought a new cleaning kit!

I didn't use my bore snake much mostly because after I left CA, I didnt have a long gun to clean(shotty was ex bf's).

Instead I had a rod designed for handguns. And oil. And cleaning solution. And brushes and patches and fluffy things.

I'd clean and oil just for the sake of cleaning and oiling. My guns were in pristine bleeping condition and were going to stay that way.

and fluffy things.

This one lol’ed

The kit Khajiit just bought had parts for all kinds of guns! Rifles, shotguns, and handguns of most calibers and gauges. Got several wire brushes, some swabs, and some of the “fluffy things” Sakiri mentioned. Didn’t come with oil or solvent but this one already has some Remington brand gun oil and is sure he can easily find solvent solution somewhere in town.

My cleaning kit is two bore snakes (one for 5.56, one for 30 cal), a bottle of ballistol, a couple of rags, a little pick-like tool (that I use on the 5.56 to get the firing pin retaining pin back into the bolt carrier), a toothbrush, and a cat m4 tool. Plus an old towel to lay down across the table when I do my cleaning.

I find cleaning very therapeutic personally. Just like shooting.

Reminds me. We found my bf's old air rifle... now I want to set up some beer cans to plink.

Wish I could say the same tongue.gif

Although I was very adament about cleaning my Remington 1858. Here's a gun that's over 150 years old and I don't want to be the guy who ruins it tongue.gif

Though I did send it in for professional cleaning too.

According to Google, it's a revolver. They stopped producing them in 1875.

Apparently it was one of the most sought after revolvers of its time. Soldiers could save lots of money just to buy that gun. It had another design than Colt which made it a lot easier to work with, not to mention quickly change to a preloaded cylinder in the heat of battle. The Colt (pre-Peacemaker) was a bit trickier.

I'd hate to get hit by it. In the abdomen you could bleed out pretty badly, headshot....yeah no one's walking away with that kind of a gaping wound tongue.gif .

Skulls are a little harder than watermelons, but it'd probably jumble some brains if you got shot, ricochet in the head.
