Well. This vacation started out nicely.


First I got a bug on the inside of my windshield. Hit it with the back of my hand which didn't do anything so I hit it again in another way. Windshield cracked. Didn't even use much force but it's like I would have used a hammer. So now I have a nice big star on the right side of the windshield.

Then, as I pull up to where my parents live, a warning light turns on indicating the engine oil sensor doesn't work.

Seems like the oil sensor was a fluke, it has stayed off the rest of the day *knocks on wood* and I think I can get a windshield replacement on my insurance. So it shouldn't hit me too hard.


And I got the roof on my carport and from now on I DO NOT care if it leaks; I will not do all this again!

Was waiting for this.

Also, sneaking off to buy engagement rings possibly tomorrow. That'll be fun. Provided we find a place near where we're getting dropped off.

Not sure there's a jeweler in the mall or not.

Good the windshield won't cost much. They're not awful to replace but if you're strapped for cash it can suck.

Think we were quoted 600 US for the last one for my ex's truck, so...around 5200kr.

Can't you just pay someone to replace it without insurance? I had the back window of my wife's old car replaced for $175. Paid for it myself.

Nocandosville, babydoll. My mechanic can't and I don't know anyone who can do it for free. Besides, 1500SEK is not that much. Although, heh, it is kinda much for killing a bug

No window replacement specialty stores in Sweden? They are everywhere in the US, and there are even mobile ones that will come to you.
