I think my local gun store might sell a drum for it but it's rare.

Never liked drum mags myself too much. Must be a pain to reload

Next paycheck I'll get some slugs. For now I got some turkey shot rounds...I might pick up some 00 buck next time I'm at the store.

Steel or lead?

I prefer 00 or 000 shot for home defense. Slugs are nice, but they'll also go through two walls pretty easily. :/

Interior walls are pathetic anymore.

Birdshot takes care of it unless they wear SWAT team armor

There's something more satisfying when you use something that does more than sting for defense.

I've seen birdshot injuries. When the guys roided up on drugs he won't feel it. Same reason pepper spray imo is fecking useless.

This depends on distance. Get close enough and the sheer force of the blast is enough to kill.

You shouldn't be letting them get close.

That's why they made doublebarrels; first shot is just a warning shot...

Well I decided to strip the new shotgun and it strips like one but there's some difference but it's still easy to strip and clean or oil up.

Nickel plated lead. I will say one thing this shotgun is HEAVY. To bad Hickok got introduced to one that gave him a boo-boo, mine doesn't have a lot protruding sharp edges.
I'd like to shoot it but Rosie my German Shepherd doesn't like gunshots and 12 gauges aren't the quietest of firearms. I might take it to my local gun range next pay period and have some fun. .

Steel has a tendency to ricochet when hitting hard targets, lead doesn't. Safety issue, in other words. Plus, lead is found naturally in nature and isn't a big deal whereas steel rusts and may tear up the belly of an animal accidentally eating it. This whole lead business is pure poppycock from start to finish, bah. But let's not dig any further.

They ban it because of fears of lead poisoning, but the studies from California involving the condors was full of <blank>. They were getting lead poisoning due to stuff like car exhaust and lead paint, on top of the aborted calves they fed them. I'd have to find the report again, it was a bunch of hooey.

Metallic lead is not an environmental hazard. Lead compounds are yes, but metallic lead is not.

And lead is cheaper than steel or copper, the other two shot options. Cali was trying to ban all lead ammo. The options for shot(which is illegal to use lead shot in waterways) are copper or steel. Both of which are expensive af.

So yeah. It's less about anything but control. Trying to price people out of shooting and fake science.
