It's nearly 8 p.m. but I'm still working... Waiting on a computer to produce something... then to send it off... Anyway, I blame Kazaera for this - her "Sleeper in the Cave" is too good a read - distracts people from when they should have been working...

Ah! I come from the future where it's nearly 9PM and I have some stuff to tell you! Ok, what year is it? It's 4E202 over here.

Color me relieved.
Just under a week ago, ironically the day after my cardiology visit, I discovered a small area just to the left of the center of my chest that was painful if pressed. Now, I have a chest/lung condition causes periodic outbreaks of pain in different parts of my chest, that area included. Only, my 'normal' chest pains cover broad areas, not a small refined one. While those are indeed painful, it's more a burn/sting, not sharp pain, and aren't affected by pressure.
As the pain faded over time once I stopped pressing it, I decided to leave well enough alone and 'keep an eye on it'.
Next day, checking myself in the mirror, I was surprised to see dark skin surrounding that painful spot. It looked like a bruise, though for the life of me I can't remember having done anything to cause a painful bruise to that area. I called my PCM's office for advice. They didn't return my call until Friday afternoon, with the clinic already closed for the week.
Explaining my situation, they moved one of my standard six-month appointments forward a week, telling me to visit ER if I felt the situation warranted it at any time prior to my appointment. This past Saturday, I came close to taking them up on that. I was feeling pretty miserable, with that spot sore as heck amongst symptoms. Ironically or not, by the time I'd grabbed a quick shower and thrown together an ER kit, my bout of misery had ended. I felt fine the rest of the that day, all day Sunday, and all Monday up until right before bedtime, when symptoms returned in a very mild way.
Woke this morning, the day of my PCM appointment, in roughly the same state. Started feeling better about the time I left the house, and felt reasonably okay while sitting in the clinic waiting to be seen.
Seen at last, I explained my situation to the doc. He examined the bruise and had me feel out that painful spot for him. To cut to the chase, I seem to have torn a pectoral-rib attachment spot. The doc says the damage isn't too severe to heal on its own over time. I'm to place an ice-pack over that spot twice a day until the pain/bruise vanishes, which will take weeks.
So no heart-related issue, cancerous growth or other perilous ailment!

Despite the risk to my hopefully healing pectoral-rib attachment point, I carried a number of heavy bags of outdated computer parts, a huge ink-jet printer and two PC monitors to the curb first thing after breakfast for this year's annual odd-item trash pickup day. Stuff they don't normally accept. Due to the nature of what I threw out, everything vanished from my lawn long before the disposal truck arrived. Thinking on it after the fact, I ought to have thrown out my stacks of old MaximumPC magazines. They don't interest me anymore, and are worth zilch. Come to think on it, I might also have a significant stash of PC Gamer Magazine that can be jettisoned.
What I might do with those is put several in my weekly trash picklup bags. No official reason I can't. They are 'normal' trash, after all. To the minus, doing it that way will take ages.

This perplexes me. If we did that here we'd get a kick in the teeth. NO LOOSE TRASH. SECURE THE BAG SO IT DOESN'T OPEN UP. NO LOOSE TRASH.

This perplexes me. If we did that here we'd get a kick in the teeth. NO LOOSE TRASH. SECURE THE BAG SO IT DOESN'T OPEN UP. NO LOOSE TRASH. That's our rules too. As stated, smaller items were bagged. Larger items were too big for any bag I own. Those were returned to their original display boxes, so were in a sense bagged. A neighbor put out an ancient CTR TV. Looked to be a 35" model or thereabouts. No point in putting that in a bag. During today's exercise-walk I saw a curbed tall narrow dresser. No point bagging that either. Am surprised so few people curbed items this year. Then again, after a year of C19 maybe no one has been replacing items of the sort this special pickup is meant to remove. I curbed as much as I did only because I forgot about pickup day two years straight.
