It's likely still there. Nowadays, if it ain't mainstream/corporate safe/friendly, it's prioritized so low you'll never find it without exhaustive searching and sometimes a good dose of luck. It's such a shame, what YT is more and more becoming, but not unexpected. All this said, I still find quite a bit of 'good' stuff on YT. Much depends on what sort of thing I'm looking for.
