The other day I found THE post in which you learned about Witchcraft. And you said "I need that!" in so many words.



Very much a Jack of all, then. This is why a lot of us have multiple characters. There's so much to explore, for me it felt better to do it all with more than one. I was trying to do it all (all quests, all weapon types, all magic types) with my very first Renee Gade character) but her game started to feel very distracted. Very much unfocussed. But see, if I'd ONLY played RG over this past decade and a half...

What about some of the more useless spells, though? Does Lothran ever try spells such as Absorb Mercantile? Really, these sort of spells seem useless to me, but somewhere out there somebody needed THIS very spell to create that very specific roleplay. That's why it's good OB was so broad with its magic options.



Yes, the weapons I know about (Snowflake is one of them).

Absorb Mercantile is not a useless spell though, if you need money. Cast it on a trader before transaction for an instant discount! (Although casting it on Necromancers who are trying to turn you into a zombie may not be quite as helpful.)

Another patrol route to the shrine of Azura. Not much has changed since last one but two bandits were disposed of at the hidden camp past Silver Tooth Cave and one ogre before that. Next session will see Lothran going home to Bruma.

Pretty much this again. I don't know if the decrepit avatar and Vilja patrol this part of Cyrodiil. If not; Lothran is up for it

And yeah, back in Bruma now and then a quiet evening at Olav's. Then it's once again off west to see if anything's happened since last time.

"Something's in the air"

Lothran thought to himself. After another raid in Capstone Cave which btw was quite empty still since last one, upon coming home to Bruma again and spending some time inside the gates, it by and by stopped snowing. Having seen nothing but snowfall for the last three months, this is noteworthy indeed. And Lothran knew exactly what it meant.


It's very soon time to leave Bruma and face the lush forests of Cyrodiil once again!

Lothran has left the Mountains. I repeat: Lothran has left the Mountains


Standard procedure was followed. The roaring fireplace was put out, regular gear picked up from storage chest in the upper hallway and Snowflake the dagger was put back in its drawer down in the bedroom, fully charged and ready. And with the bedroom door closed behind him, Lothran stepped out of his home.

Early morning, no one else out but the patrolling guards. As the season had come to an end there was no snowfall either. Lothran made his way through the clear and mostly empty town of Bruma. Standing by the north gate he took one final look back, opened the big door, and left Bruma.

Throughout the last few years he had mostly opted to go down the same way he came up in the beginning of the season and then take the Orange Road to Chorrol. Other times he had gone past Applewatch, over the bridge and then taken a left down towards the lush forest. This year however he felt inclined to go the longest route past Hermaeus Mora's shrine, something he hasn't done for many, many years. Nothing to fight along the way, only the strange feeling of seeing the mountains in clear view as opposed to through the usual blizzard.


Lothran is now standing in the Colovian Highlands, not far from Lipsand Tharn. He has changed into his huntsman's vest and from this point he will wander the forest with Chorrol in mind.


The winter season of 2022/2023 has concluded.

It is officially early spring in Cyrodiil!

I don't remember where Hermaeus Mora's shrine is, I am guessing he went east, though. If so, there should be Silver something mine full of goblins.

I know our date is March 5 but what is the in-game date (including year)? And how much playtime overall?

To our knowledge there currently is no house for sale in Bruma. But yes. It's a spell called Disabling the Mod


It's very much west actually. But the place you're thinking of, Silver Tooth Cave is indeed east.


It's currently Sun's Dawn 13, 3E439. Not as much as maybe it should be after 16 (!) years, but I don't play so much each time anymore and I'm having the timescale set to 10 instead of 30.

Lothran has set up camp out on the wilderness due west of Chorrol and tomorrow he will enter said town.

Lucien Lachance is preparing to embark on a long journey to Morrowind where he will go to Mournhold and try to prevent another war of assassins between the Dark Brotherhood and Morag Tong (Tribunal DLC). He left Fort Farragut this evening, having wished all his Brothers and Sisters a good month without their Speaker - he plans on being away for a month or two at most, but you can never really plan anything with such matters.

Lucien arrived in the Imperial City around midnight, he will spend the night in his underground apartment in Arboretum, then board the Imperial Legion ship in the morning, bound for Gnisis. Or perhaps he will first make a detour to Anvil... It could be worth while. He has a bad feeling about this trip, it could be the time to collect his mother's Amulet of Dibella from its hiding place on her grave, she did say - pick it up when life takes a difficult turn... The trip to Mournhold seems to be just deserving of such an honour.

The Imperial City was still, with some of the guards having difficulty to stay awake. Two guards in the Temple District were discussing modern literature: "It was the strangest book I've ever read!" Said one and shook his head. "I've heard others say the same," nodded the other. Which book was that, Lucien wondered. In Arboretum he was about the only person in the street, not counting the guards. "I don't know if I like this," a guard muttered when he passed. And what is wrong with a dark-haired man in a black robe walking the streets in the dead of night? After all, the colour of the night in sanguine, my brother.

This is a new game that I started with Lucien as my protagonist. In a way it is more difficult than a regular game because of course he is not just anybody, not a beginner and knows how to use his blade. Rather better than I do, in fact. I am a bit apprehensive... I started him off at level 13 - you've got to be level 15 to start Tribunal in Morroblivion. But Morrowind - and Morroblivion - has some very tough enemies, and normally Lena just magics herself out of such situations, summons a daedroth or something, but Lucien is not a mage... I hope I won't embarrass him too much with my inept swordsmanship!

Anyway, the alternative start mod that I made for him, has a quest to fetch his mum's amulet "when the going gets tough". It's a tough quest in itself with some interesting dungeons (made yesterday), so I think I'll have him do that first, also to give myself a feel for how to play an assassin who isn't a mage.

The screenshot didn't come out very well, by the way. I had such fantastic skies as we approached the Imperial City! But the screenshot just looks dark.

Lothran has spent a night in Chorrol and will continue to enjoy the town and the surroudning area. The Colovian Highlands are beautiful!

However, it still doesn't look as good as in game. I think the game engine modifies my graphics settings.

Today Lothran cleared out Crumbled Mine and grabbed what little treasure there was. After that it was out into the Colovians in pouring rain

Yes! Today was day number 2000 for Lothran in Cyrodiil! Should be more after all this time but hey, it is what it is


And to mark the occasion something little extra happened. As morning came around, Lothran went out the east gate of Chorrol and headed towards Honditar's cabin, rain pouring down. As he entered the cabin just to take a look, combat music was heard. Odd, since no danger had been spotted prior to entering except a wolf although they don't attack unless Lothran has a weapon in hand.
Standing inside the cabin, it was quite soon revealed what it was all about as an ogre also entered the cabin! Lothran quickly rushed outside having already drawn a weapon whereupon that wolf attacked! Battle ensued between the elf, his Spriggan and bear and the two foes. And as if that wasn't enough there was also a mountain lion present!

After all of them had been taken care of, Lothran spotted a dead bandit where that wolf had been. And to think; none of them except the wolf had been seen before entering the cabin
