Another day another Dr. Pepper Strawberries and Cream soda. Also tomorrow I get to see the dentist about getting a tooth removed. Ah the joys of aging and having bad teeth, denture city here I come.

That said, my dad got dentures in his late thirties I believe, early forties tops. In his case, it was sort of by design. Our family didn't have much money, certainly not enough for period dental visits and occasional crowns/fillings. His philosophy was to wait until his situation was hopeless, then have all teeth removed in one fell swoop. He couldn't afford top-quality dentures, so was always whittling on them in hope of a better fit. Mom, on the other hand, passed in her mid-seventies with all her teeth intact.

Me, I lost eight teeth in my early twenties, plus a number of crowns and fillings, thanks to poor diet and lax dental hygiene. Oddly or not, after that i've lost no further teeth except when an ancient crown gave up the ghost, not leaving enough original tooth to recrown. Haven't needed a filling in decades. I'm very lucky in that the upper partial made for me several years prior to military retirement is super-high quality. Over thirty years later it still fits like a glove. My current dentist warns me to protect it at all costs, as she knows of no one who can make its equal. (Even if they could, it's unlikely I can afford it.)

Not really I think my Dad started losing his teeth around my age. Bad teeth seems to flow in my family, my mom had bad teeth, my dad had bad teeth and even my sister had bad teeth. Brushing just delays the inevitable.
