I did try the Dogmeat method years ago on different parts of the area where it happened. I didn't know at the time that you get a weapon, I just thought it was an explosion for the sake of it. Should have known better, really

As a collector though it's important to me that I get that first specific one from the explosion, so I don't know if I should console it into my collection if I don't find the "original" one. We'll see. But again; thanks

Well, just did the tcl and the Dogmeat and nothing. No Firelance. Not sure if it's gone or if it's just very difficult to spot it amongst the rubble when tcl:ing. I know the general area where it happened but honestly I need to know more precise and that's not gonna happen after all these years. I might try again on Sunday.


Interestingly, when tcl:ing around the UFO I found a radio I could use. There was someone saying "Yeah?" at the other end but I could only say goodbye.

Found this on the wiki:
Entering the console command getStageDone 00031E39 8 will return "1", if the encounter already took place in the world, or "0" if it can still occur.

Does this mean Firelance returns to where it initially landed?

No, the getstagedone command will just tell you if a quest stage has been completed or not. It won't do anything else. If it is coming back with a 1 - that the quest stage has been done - then you can try another command to restart the quest.

SQS 00031E39 will show you all the stages of the quest, and which ones are finished (marked 1) and which ones are not (marked 0)

ResetQuest 00031E39 should reset the stages back to 0.

SetStage 00031E39 x will allow you to set the current stage of the quest to whatever number you list under x.

So if you use the ResetQuest command, and then go to any of the Random Encounter type A locations on the map in the wiki, you can then use setStage 06031E39 8. That should trigger the event again.

I see. Well, I think I'll go back and look around again tomorrow for a bit. It's a bit more fun to do that than simply console it into my collection. It's a futile effort at this point but why not?

Yesterday me and Gunny came upon two friendly Giant Rad Scorpions when teleporting. Always interesting to find friendly versions. We also sold a lot of stuff and we're close to another 30.000 caps.



Also; still no Firelance and I think I've given up now for good. There's no chance that thing is still around in my game.

Friday, April 23, 2278 -- Janet Telia is on The Mall, sneaking round mostly, but taking care of any mutants should they notice her. Her entire mission: see if it's possible to activate GNR's radio dish (without doing the quest). And the only reason she's doing this is so the radio's not all crackly in Moriarty's Tavern.

Edit: a super mutant walked right NEXT to her. Couldn't resist slipping a grenade in his pocket .. "Mother BOOM!!!*

I wonder if that's possible but I guess it is...just like it is possible to skip the quest with the 3Dog entirely.

I did play Janet's game a couple days ago, and she successfully pulled the Virgo II satellite dish from that lunar module in the Museum of Technology. But the way into the Washington Monument is off-limits right now.

But that's okay. I'm going to play around in the GECK and slove that problem. I consider my gameworlds combined, which means Cho Zen Wan would've already paved the way into the Monument, gotten the GNR mission done, and so on. So I can just roleplay that somehow.

No gaming for me today so no dogs, Three or otherwise.


Last session saw yet another big selling of stuff and 30.000 caps has been breached. This has been a good season indeed, much better than last, and I wouldn't be surprised if I hit 50.000 before the hiatus

Right, one needs a password to open the door to the Washington Monument and you can only get the password from 3Dog, if I recall correctly. This means, that the quest can't be officially completed unless one talks to 3Dog first.
