That is truly astonishing.

It would be even more amazing if it was still on its original battery but I did have to change that in 2016 I think.


Calling and texting - that's all I need it to do.

The thing that amazes me is that the network still supports it. I have a number of working phones that can't get the right signal any more.

Well, that will stop December 31 this year when they'll shut down 2G and 3G, from what I've heard anyway. Which is why I may actually *gasps* start looking to get one of them "smart" phonies.

Thanks, Khajiit. It's mostly because I just don't like to replace things that work just fine and isn't obsolete, which my phone isn't since it still can do exactly what I want it to.


This shutting down of networks will affect more than just my phone btw. Cars with built-in automatic SOS function that rely on 2G or 3G will stop working and with that, the whole car will have to be scrapped because if a car has this function, law dictates that it has to work.

Speaking of screwy things happening, I received an email from Facebook about an hour ago. Suspicious activity has been noticed. My account is now suspended. I need to verify myself with a video selfie. With no cell phone, I'm at a loss about how to do this. According to the email, if I don't verify within 180 days, my account will be permanently deleted. A pain in the posterior is what it is. Oh well, I have ample time to figure out a workaround, or accept that I'm hosed. Such is life.

(My el cheapo digital camera allows me to record video footage. However, the selfie Facebook wants needs to be created in real-time on a Facebook verification page.)

Is your account for sure suspended? That sounds really scammy.

Aye, it's suspended. I clicked on my "New Tab page Facebook icon, the same icon I've used for years. It takes me to a Facebook screen saying I'm suspended and must verify my account. The email's address seems legit. Searching the web reveals that selfie head video verification is indeed a Facebook requirement in some instances.

Oh ok then.

Could you get one of those usb cameras to use with your pc?
