A mystery that has been in the back of Lothran's head for dang near 20 years.


Standing where the sword and the note were originally found, Lothran followed the note's cryptic instruction until he found a big rock to the right, and tucked away on the other side was a locked treasure chest. Ever since he found the note, the sword and the Key to Hidden Wealth, Lothran has kept the note and the key with him. For many, many years they have been in his pocket just on the off-chance he would stumble upon this hidden treasure at some point.

Today was that day. Finally after all these years he took the key out of his pocket, unlocked the chest and opened it. Inside was a Daedric dagger and another note. The note read:

Blessed are those who explore the unbeaten path..

Lothran now sits in his meager shack on the Waterfront. He's put all his winter gear back in storage and donned his summer attire, consisting in part of Saviour's Hide.

And after all this time the Key to Hidden Wealth now rests on the dinner table alongside the instructive note, the Note of Bounty and the Daedric dagger found using the key and instructions.


Quest completed.

Oh the Waterfront! I hear the Marie Elena is in port. She's a galleon I think.

Lothran cause some ruckus today by luring out some bandits from the sewers and then let everyone else fight them

He's also checked up on Tiber Septim hotel and yes; the deer from last year is still here, let's cheer!

It's morning and Lothran is currently standing outside the Lustratorium after having conducted some business. He will now go to his waterfront shack to offload some ingredients, pick up his gear and then it's time to head out for Skingrad.

Today Lothran walked all the way to Skingrad, only stopping briefly to fight creatures and bandits and once to resurrect a fallen Legionnaire. Also stopped at Shadeleaf Copse to take a pic

That's a long walk! I hope Lothran's enjoying some local wine from Tamikas. Buffy is living several centuries before Tamika was even a gleam in her father's eye. Because of the wine-friendly climate of the West Weald, there are several fine wineries though.

From what I hear, Buffy is an expert at jumping through time and space so I don't see a problem here


It was a long walk, btw, yes. But Lothie needed to pick up the pace and get to Skingrad before heading out into the true wilderness of the south-east West Weald as Easter arrives.

Slow day in Skingrad as Lothran is getting settled. Plus, it's late afternoon so no need to head outside again so soon. Skingrad is such a nice town anyway

Lothran is now yet again in the part of Cyrodiil where my navigational abilities are shot to pieces; I simply cannot get my bearings here. What I can say is my elf is nearby the Hidden House, by the lakes and waterfalls. But venturing away from that and I swear my built-in compass relocates to the North Pole and goes haywire.

What I think is due north turns out to be east, and when I'm convinced I'm walking westward it's actually to the south

I've run into something similar during my ongoing Oblivion screenshot enhancement project. Thanks to mods, my version of the Imperial Island has four bridges to the "mainland": North, South, East, and West bridges rather than just the Talos. I've caught myself mislabeling a bridge's location as often as not.

Forgive me for not keeping up with the latest in this thread. I tried really hard to get my Oblivion working last weekend after successfully installing the brand-new drive into my eleven year-old gaming computer. The game itself starts fine; it's the utilities, such as OBMM, which are causing me grief. "Can't open this, can't open that....because X is missing....." you know, probably because I've got Windows 10, and the game relies on all sorts of ancient .dll files and programs which were standard during the Windows 7/8 era but I need to hunt them down with 10. And see, THIS would be even worse if I jumped to 11. Thing is, three years ago when I rebuilt my game with all the junk I used in 2024 I reported barely any problems at all, and that was also on a brand-new disc with Win10 as the OS. So.... go figure.

Anyway sorry for off-topic but it's disspiriting. After a while it's like you just give up, before you throw your mouse & keys straight thru the nearest wall or monitor.

I'll try again mostly Sunday, when it's supposed to rain. Please wish us luck: me and Joanie and my skooma dealer and Renee Gade III and Lady Gaga, oops Saga.

Lothran is now moving westward to have some funtime with the necrodudes at Fort Linchal. As always he stops by Shardrock farm in order to deal with the West Weald bear, but this time the bear wasn't there! Not there at all! I can't totally prove it!

This is a first. There's always been a bear there but not this time. Nothing dead in the area either. Huh

10 necrodudes/dudettes at Fort Linchal = 10 robes and one hood.

Good job. The only good necrodude is. . . well, you know.

Well, got some more at Fort Istirus on the way back to Skingrad


Having some issues with microstuttering at some places outside, always seems to happen after about ten mins of gaming. Not game-breaking in any way but noticeable. Never when starting up though and not in towns. Have switched disc to see if it will improve. Today was spent in Skingrad however so no issues this session.

Skingrad, Two Sister's Lodge


Returning to town after an excursion to Brindle Home and Gottlesfront Priory. Nothing much to report on. Did get stuttering again but here's a discovery; I went to settings and changed anti-aliasing from 4 to 2, got the message saying I have to quit and relaunch the game. Fair enough, I exited the menus and boom; microstuttering gone

I don't think the change from 4 to 2 did this as the game has to restart before it takes effect, but for some reason messing around with the menus seemed to fix it kinda like changing the volume setting brings back sound effect from fire. Weird either way.
