Yeah, a lot of junk can build up over time in a character's character (saves). It's been too long since I last played to be certain of this, but it seems to me that some utility, maybe within Wrye Bash?, can check saves and remove unneeded clutter. But again, I might be totally wrong.

The disk/disc spins at however many RPM and is scanned or used to be read with a needle. Either way, any scratches or warps cause breaks in the continuity of the signal being sent to your graphics/monitor/etc. It causes big issues. Was it warped/scratched? Can you get a new one?




Yes, I think there was something about 100 saves causing issues. I normally delete all autosaves.

I have new/unused discs and that wasn't the problem. Tried the 5th Anniversary edition disc but same thing happens after about ten minutes as I was walking back and forth in the same area. Suddenly microstuttering and I hadn't even done anything much. If clutter has been built up in the saves, shouldn't microstuttering be there all the time?

Also, as soon as I walked into Skingrad castle courtyard everything was again buttery smooth.

You should start a new game and see if that helps.

Update; it seems to come and go as it pleases. I can approach a location and get the stuttering and while being there it goes away. And then it comes back and goes away again.

It may have been like this before but I've tolerated it cause it goes away. I haven't noticed any other computer problems, Fallout 3 included.


Cell loading issues?

I've read that disk over time can eventually degrade and begin to decompose or rot making the disk unplayable. Unless you buy a new disk or a digital copy there's not much you can do about the disk eventually going belly up... and no one want to see a disk go belly up, it's like seeing a German Shepard, a dog breed to sniff bombs, chase bad guys while smashing through windows go to belly while on the couch. Believe me it's a sad sight to see for sure T_T.
