Here are some names I've made for weapons.
Armageddon Originally: Regular Gatling Laser, but sold that after I picked up a Gatling Laser and renamed that one Special: 20% chance to cripple an enemy's legs Story: I had been searching in vain for a Gatling Laser, which I could've sworn I had stashed away somewhere. So admittedly, I gave up and just consoled one into my inventory several weeks or so ago. I had been stockpiling fusion cores to the tune of 151 of them (I believe that was the exact number)! I've used it so much now that I went down to 30- or 40-something.
Anyway, when I played yesterday, I had to travel to Far Harbor to rescue a synth. I stopped by my settlement at the National Park Visitors Center since I had to go to the National Park HQ. Had several settlers tell me that they were in some real and that they hoped I could help, so I knew something was about to go down. Lo and behold, a bunch of trappers sieged the settlement. Almost died several times thanks to stupid harpoon guns, but the Legendary trapper of some sort was carrying--a Gatling Laser! How he came across that is beyond me, but whatever. So I killed him and found out it wasn't any ordinary Gatling Laser. It had a sweet, sweet crippling effect! After going to Rayburn Point to kill the rest of the trappers, I immediately went back to the Visitors Center to see what else I could. Attached a Beta Wave Tuner to that bad boy for some fire damage and wrecked house at the National Park HQ to rescue the synth.
Other names I have given to weapons:
Handcannon (bonus points to those who know what game that references) Originally: Some sort of .44 pistol; don't think it had a special effect
Night-Night Originally: Plasma rifle with night vision; doesn't have a special effect, but wow, does it pack a punch with the ballistic and energy damage
The Pain Train Originally: Can't remember the exact name, but it was a railway rifle of some sort Special: Fires 15% faster than normal Story: Not much of a story, but found this on a Legendary enemy a while back that I had killed with my regular railway rifle that I renamed Choo-Choo! Sold choo-choo (was a bit sad to part with it, it had served well) and then renamed this new railway rifle The Pain Train.
Forget what other names I have at the moment, so I'll post those later.
