Just finished listening to a piece I admit to never paying attention to before, Brahms second piano sonata, in an audio-only performance by Helene Grimaud, who I also haven't paid much attention to. Am most impressed, the more so in that this is one of the increasingly more rare recordings that still sound halfway decent despite my worsening hearing. I notice a decided Liszt influence in the work... in a good way.

The greatest (or at least my favorite) musician of all-time, Jerry Cantrell, has his third solo album, Brighten, coming out in October, since Alice in Chains finished their tour last year or the year before. He just released a single off of it and it is an absolute banger. Have to stop myself from playing it too much and getting tired of it, but it is so damn good. Jerry always delivers.

As we all know, Dreamcatcher used to be another group called Minx. They cancelled that and redebuted as the hardrockers we know today, adding two members in the process. They were indeed quite a different group, wouldn't you say?
