I bet you can't wait ----------------- Lothran has now sneaked through Serpent's Trail and emerged in the legendary Pale Pass. We'd barely started the cave crawl however when we noticed that the ceiling trap that's there had been triggered, but stepping on the plate still produced the activation sound; that was our first clue something was amiss. When we got to the skeleton of the messenger it was clear something was wrong; the arms and the head had separated and this was something we couldn't accept so we time traveled back to a point just outside and re-entered the cave system and yes; now all was as it should be. We didn't get some of the previous loot this time around which was a bummer, but apart from a diamond (neither flawed nor flawless) there wasn't much we missed out on. So now after everything has been set straight, Lothran stands outside the doors on the other side overlooking the path dwindling down into the snowy valley in front of him. Step one of the hunt begins.

Brrr... really cold up at Pale Pass; were those ogres happy to see Lothran? Did they finally figure it's probably best to vacate the area since it's that time of year, again? Ah, I see, they did not. Hence they've all fallen victims to the same platinum-haired elf who shows up every year from the south once again. I'm giving up on getting Oblivion Reloaded working on my new Xbox. I mean it works fine, problem is we can't mod the game yet, and there's no way to remove either the crosshair or the compass from the game; Bethesda and/or Microsoft don't allow OR modding on consoles yet, if they ever will. Turns out, I really wanted those parts of the HUD gone..... I can't game with them on, they're too intrusive. So we'll need to wait until I get new drives in my gaming computer before I start playing OR. This post has been edited by Renee: Dec 21 2025, 11:31 PM

I cannot see the appeal of Remastered. In OG OB the NPCs all have more of a personality looks-wise. And from what I can see the colors are generally more vibrant and alive. I'd say just stick with the original and enjoy what you've built up for so long

I understand about their faces, but honestly, OR is not just shiny retextures. I have seen some New Content already. There are little critters running around the floor of the tutorial dungeon; mice or maybe bugs. It's a very small thing, which only adds to the atmosphere of course, and which is evidence that Beth and Virtuous (the Chinese developers who co-constructed Remastered) didn't just make the game "prettier". There are new ideas present, and I want to see them! Damn compass.... and why the hell didn't the devs allow us to remove the crosshair???? Even on the 360 we can do this! QUOTE(Renee @ Dec 21 2025, 11:30 PM) I'd say just stick with the original and enjoy what you've built up for so long I would love to, but it's gonna be a while. I need to get a new drive in my computer; which I'll do myself, as to save money. Then I'll need to build Oblivion, Morrowind, all my old games up on scratch. I did the exact same thing last year and it took four months to get back what I had from 2014 until 2024. I can always play the original game on the 360, but since I do have the latest console why not play some later games on it? That's my attitude; I know... sacrilege, but hey. I don't have the same mindset I did ten years ago; I could probably return to Kahreem, whose game is still on the 360 and never got transferred to PC, but gaming with Newer ideas won't be possible. Plus I'm not really craving to return to Kahreem right now--- it's like his story's DONE, you know? Sorry for off-topic. Next time I participate in this thread will probably in April or May; hopefully I'll write up Joan of Arkay or RG3 or my skooma dealer instead of ranting as I am now.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Dec 23 2025, 09:07 PM) Sounds like a good hunt. Well, for Lothran. . . not so much for the ogres. If they could I think they would agree: 17 teeth in total ---> ------------------ Lothran is now sitting at the Jerall View. The Pale Pass Ogre Cave Boss Hunt for 2025 has officially concluded.
