I always see one or two after a trek around the isle, but seeing one immediately was new. Good thing the protectron is there but here's a thing; when I come back to the boardwalk he's always missing. Always! He's not destroyed or anything, just missing. Then the year after he's always back

Yesterday I took Plik's safari but since the game crashed before I saved, I had to redo it


After that I took the coastline back to the boardwalk and I once again saw that smuggler stepping on the plank high above. The whole thing played out years ago but I guess his ghost still haunts the place. Oh, but it can't be a ghost because I could light him up with the Chinese fire pistol!
Then he fell down onto some rocks where I couldn't get to him. I even tcl:d up to him first but he had NO GREETING


After that it was on to the detention camp. It usually has some bots patrolling but this time only a bunch of ghouls even though I resurrected all the bots last year before leaving.
Now it's nighttime and I'm close to Trapper's shack and will deal with whoever's inside next session.

Saturday, October 19, 2281 -- Justin Tyme is in Goodsprings House, a mod-added home just down the street from Doc Mitchell's place. I don't know much about Justin yet but he already has proved himself to be a thief. Stole a beer, a Stimpak, and some food from this house.

I've only added three mods into New Vegas so far: all three are locational add-ons. Novac Resomething (removes the boards from several motel rooms so we can use them), More NV Locations, and Vault 25, I think. My goal is to make the U-shaped travel from Goodsprings to Primm to Nipton and up to Novac not so predictable. New places to explore should hopefully add some extra places to explore, although I also don't remember the Mojave too well. Haven't played NV since 2021. 🤠

I created mods that add player homes in Goodsprings and in Novac. I think they are both on the Nexus. Yes, Novac Player Bungalow is here and Goodsprings Small Player Home is here. Both have a bed, safe storage, and all the crafting stations. I also made Simplified Ammo Crafting. As the name says, it streamlines the process of crafting ammo by reducing the number of different types of materials you need.

Hey do you (or anyone) know of something which makes "Hardcore" mode into a bunch of sliders? Like an MCM we'd see in Skyrim or something similar?

Every fricking hardcore mode mod I've seen tries to make the experience MORE H4RDC0R3, like a life-or-death experience every hour, which is not what I'm after, and doesn't accurately portray the Mojave 100%. Although I've never lived there, I have driven thru Nevada in fall & winter months, and I've done research using this Historical Almanac Archive. Nevada in October (when the game starts) is not enormously dangerous with the temperatures and such, not in the way some modders portray it.

I'm now back in the Capital Wasteland but still aboard the Dutchess Gambit. Point Lookout has once again been cleared, a little less action-y than usual (or so it feels), and now it's time to run back to Megaton with Gunny for hibernation.

On note: I will not hit 50.000 caps as I thought I'd do; with everything sold I've landed at 45.000 and there's no way I can get another 5000 right now. But it's close enough and if I hadn't been more active this year than last I wouldn't even have hit that.

Upon arriving in the Capital Wasteland I collected Gunny and headed straight back home to Megaton. No resistance other than a lone raider close to the shore and a Giant Rad Scorpion close to home.
After selling some stuff in Megaton, as much as I could, I reached a final result of 47097 caps collected this season. Not quite 50.000 but still pretty good!

Then I chose some new guns and put everything I didn't want to carry in their proper drawer and after three nights' sleep and some healing at the healing station I now sit in my chair upstairs, once again ready to head out.
