Me three, this was a fun display of what great companions Aravi and Vilja are for each other. It was nice to see Aravi taking care of her friend in this one, making sure she didn’t fall at the top of the fort and repairing her equipment. Vilja had some appealing domestic suggestions on the way. It sounded like she was a little worried about today’s adventure.

I'm looking forward to seeing what's in there!

@mALX: I was really surprised that she wouldn’t do any of that herself. Even with several hammers in her inventory she won’t do it.

Vilja usually has some weird suggestions. At least it wasn’t mudcrabs.

@Acadian: I was very surprised about the bandit. They don’t usually hang around vampire lairs. Maybe she was drawn away from that bridge they seem to love so much.

@Grits: Vilja behaved in this one pretty well. It’s times like that, that make her worth having around. She is still designated for door guarding duty though. Aravi remembers Strand all too well.

Oh I LOVE Aravi's new equipment! She has one custom bow with her name on it that I couldn't see the stats on, but that Lightning Bow was AWESOME !! I was so glad to be able to see her health meter in this so I could scream my head off when it got low !! AWESOME Vid !!!

Wise idea to leave Vilja on ‘door duty’ this time methinks.

Superb scene transitions, especially your first one after entering the fort, starting to sneak in and fading to black. I still like the blue night eye better than the gray – it reminds us that her vision is indeed enhanced. With the gray, you sort of get used to it and forget the night eye is active.

Brilliant how Aravi turned and waited with her bow aimed in for that vampire witchhunter who fell off the bridge to run through the corridors to get to her.

That’s quite a fancy bow she has, with wings and everything!

Wow, that Nord barbarian was tough! I guess Aravi hit him in a timely manner with a command spell so he would leave her and run off to kill that other witchhunter?

And on to level two!

Oh, Buffy did go hunting for Aravi on level one of Fort Redman. Yikes! Traps, burning zombies, trick bridges, mudcrabs and. . . vampires! Being a Slayer, she can sense their presence of course; she only hopes the vampire dust she rubbed on herself will keep them from sensing her. Screenshot

@mALX: Glad you like Aravi’s (somewhat) new kit. Her short bow is light, quick, and rather weak hitting. The lightening bow was a surprise. She got it out of a chest or off of a bandit and neither of us knew that it was so… ornate. Lol. One thing to note about it is that it shot really slowly. I think in the CS the weapon speed was at .6. All the in game standard bows are at 1.

And I’m happy you have Alix back! As usual your screens and the captions are hilarious!
The last one especially so. How the heck did that happen?

@Acadian: That was very true with the gray night eye.

Aravi wasn’t going to go into that tight hallway when she knew the witch hunter was going to come up.

That bow isn’t exactly Aravi’s taste but a weapon is a weapon.

Aravi hit that Nord with whatever she had ready. She was more concerned about getting him away from her than anything else. That he went and killed the other vampire was just a bonus.

Nice screen! I really like how Buffy is standing on the block. Seems like a very natural position for an archer.

Fort Redman II: Vilja is still on door duty, I see. Whew! I kind of feel bad when I yell at her for just doing what she does. Oh, that was a transition with a darkening screen, I like it! Especially in the dark dungeon. Nice work dodging the shock spells from that Vampire Witchhunter. What a mouth on her!

Aravi’s Longbow of Voltage is quite fancy. Whoa, that Nord attacked her with a giant ice cube!! Whew, command spells are awesome. Enchanted bow, enchanted arrow, sneak bonus and a dose of poison. That Nord is going down! Then she took another loaf of bread! I think she must be using them to feed the birds.

I’ve been reading a little about bows, and Aravi’s Shortbow is how I imagine Lildereth’s bow to be. Fast and fairly weatherproof, and useful with stealth at close range. Of course, I have a lot more reading to do.


Acadian, I love the screenshot of Buffy!! When there’s no tree, just hop up on a post! Vampire dust… Buffy is so resourceful! I hope those vampires didn’t make her too uncomfortable. Well, I’m sure they didn’t for long!

mALX, YAY Alix is back!! That was a fun story as Alix led Maxical through the fort. I think “You Lead, I’ll Follow” is my favorite, they’re both sort of looking the same way. How funny, Alix flung the rat with a little more enthusiasm than planning! I'm so happy to see Alix and Maxical together again!


Fort Redman III: Gaaah, naked guy in a mask! Oh, a Blood Servant. I’m guessing that means willing donor to the vampires? Ugh. Oh no, that was too close!! Vilja was right to be apprehensive about this place! I think we all needed that moment to settle our nerves after the fight. You know, when that first vampire had mandrake root on her, I thought gosh I hope that’s not an ill omen… Aravi’s slightly confused exit from the ruin with her little which-way-should-I-go pauses made me want to give her a hug. Vilja at the door in a ball gown never looked so welcome.

Jerric is presently outside Fort Redman, swimming. I’d post a screenshot, but I don’t want to get banned. Hopefully he won’t decide to go Blood Servant style through the fort.

That naked boxer was pretty tough but it was going well until the darn wolf showed up. Good use of poisons (and potions). I got real nervous when she continued without thoroughly checking herself over with the blurred vision and all – she just didn’t seem well.

I sure wish she would have used a couple poisons on that vamp pilgrim with the warhammer - especially her opening shot with the short bow. That was another tough fight. I was so relieved that Aravi decided to retreat and regroup.

Darn that Vilja! She should have been instantly whipping up some alchemical chicken soup to fix up her friend!

Gulp. Rattles, huh? That sounds kind of serious. Time to get healed up.


It was great fun to see the screenies of Maxical and Alix’s trek! Buffy heard what Grits said, so she’s still sneaking around up in level one of the fort trying to catch a glimpse of a naked Jerric. WooHoo!

GAAAAAH !!! She almost died !!! URK !! That guy didn't see Aravi right in front of him till she nailed him, he must be like those zombie-type mindless guards vampires use to do their dirty work. I am loving this mod, what an extensive storyline !!

I have to disagree with Grits here, Aravi fleeing for her life all diseased and nearly dead - to run into Vilja standing around all fresh in a ball gown and chitchatting like that - Maxical may have sic'd Alix the Mouse #2 on her !!!

The witchhunters in this fort are wicked, Maxical is level one and barely made it through the first one - this one screaming for Aravi's blood was freaky !! (I actually heard Janus Hassildor do that once, I was home alone all night afterwards shaking under the sheets - it was just so weird to hear him say that! In all the Oblivion games I've played that was the only time he ever did before and since - it is bone chilling to hear that! URK !!! I'm alone tonight too !!! GAAAAAH !!! AWESOME VID !! I was on the edge of my seat wondering if Aravi would survive it !!!


@ Grits - WOO HOO !! Maxical's eyes are popping out of her head ... OOPS!!! She just tumbled out of the bushes she was hiding behind...

Jerric is on Nord time, so he’s just getting around to visiting Fort Redman. Here's his adventure so far.

Camping out the night before. Preparation is key to a successful mission. Your campfire should be big enough to cook your meal.

Morning swim. Since you have to carry your gear in to keep it dry, you might as well go swimming.

If Aravi didn’t use command on that Nord I think he’d have killed her. He was tough! And with the small bit of health he had, he went and killed another vampire who was untouched.

I don’t know what a blood servant is, but that sounds plausible. Now that mandrake root she found, that’s something she’d be willing to eat even though it was found in a dungeon.

How umm thoughtful with the fish. He could have prepared it though.

@Acadian: That wolf really did some damage when it got its teeth on Aravi.

She should have used a poison on that vampire, but she wasn’t thinking very clearly. She was kind of clumsy and ran into a wall and almost fell.

Vilja’s never made chicken soup, but she has made a strawberry pie before. Oddly enough it cures disease.

Vilja was actually doing what she was supposed to do here. When she’s by the door she’s not in Aravi’s way and she isn’t charging in front of Aravi’s arrows. Now she could at least wear armor or something not so fancy. She has pants and shirts in her inventory but she never wears them. Always the dresses.

Janus was howling for blood? I hope Maxical got out of there! Aravi’s run into several vampires that start yelling like that.

Aravi lost another sword so she needs to replace it. The one she lost was The Saber of Order. It was enchanted with fire.
So which should she use?

From left to right (not including the bow) they are:

Warp (a Nord blade with some neat looking writing on the blade, couldn’t get a good screen of it)

Ranger Falchion (a Breton blade)

Barrow Sword (a Khajiit blade)

Hook Saber (a Dunmer blade)

And these return:

Sword 2
Sword 3

I like the Barrow Sword best. In addition to a functional hand guard, I like the size and shape – it seems just right for the scrappy Aravi. She does have excellent taste in swords however (not that Buffy would know); all the ones she picks look wonderful. Of the old swords, I liked the red handled one best; Like cars, red ones are faster.

mALX, he brought enough tents for all of his friends, their fierce rodent companions with their supply of sweetrolls, extra bread for cautious Khajiit, and plenty of closet space for Buffy’s and Vilja’s wardrobes. Fisherman’s Rock is one of my favorite spots in the game. He though there was going to be a party, but no one else showed up. At least that’s what he’s saying. In KC’s dungeon, what a skeleton army!!! Yikes!

Swords: I think the double-edged Barrow Sword will work well with Aravi’s speed. She gets in close and scores multiple hits on her bigger opponents while they are getting their two-handed weapons back into position. The Hook Saber would give her a little more reach, but (I think?) maybe not be as fast. Jerric’s advice is that an extra blade is often handy. Also he likes Warp the best, but he thinks it might actually be a Skyrim toothpick. That could cause a tragic misunderstanding with Aravi’s Nord friends if she enchanted it with fire damage.

Fort Redman IV: Back into the fray! Aravi pulled herself together admirably and went right back to the fight. KC, her character really comes through in these videos.

Oh gosh, that broken step. The standoff with the Vampire Agent was so impressive. My favorite part was when she picked up all of his arrows that she dodged! This might be my favorite series so far.

I agree with Grits, her carefully picking up arrows after her kills is one of Aravi's endearing steps in battle. And WHEW !! Finally a breather from the mass attacks in this place !!

It is great to see Aravi in battle against one, she really shines with her quick dodging between her accurate shots !! Her character is a lot more tolerant than Maxical's too - because Vilja would be forced to wear armor whether she came with or not - just the principal of the fact that she is supposed to be there in support of Aravi, lol. I imagine there would be a hair-pulling cat-fight in the entranceway if Maxical ever came back and found her standing around in a ballgown chit-chatting, ROFL !!!

Darnand has been coaching Jerric on his fire spells, and Lildereth has helped him improve his stealth. Jerric eventually finished playing with the fish and headed into Fort Redman to test his skills against the vampires.

Whoa, no wonder Darnand loves fire.
