QUOTE(TheCheshireKhajiit @ Nov 2 2016, 05:24 PM) QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ Nov 2 2016, 11:41 AM) Urgh. Trying to play Skyrim on expert as a Sorcerer is kicking my arse That's because magic is seriously underpowered in Skyrim At level 7? I'm at an odd point where novice destruction spells don't do quite enough damage, but I can't quite afford to use the apprentice level ones. That and my character's armour is the same stuff he had at level one, so he dies pretty quickly. Oh, and half the time I'm not even sure what I'm fighting I got killed a few times trying to fight the first chaurus I came across, for example. There's a bit of the "don't go there early" back in the game Skyrim. In Oblivion, everything levelled with the player, but in Skyrim, some dungeons contain enemies with a minimum level that may be too far above yours. Since Beth don't expect you to play DiD, that's a learning experience.
Just wind the level back down to "Addict" or lower for the nastier areas, or go somewhere else for a while. If you've set the dungeon level by going there, it won't have increased when you go back, unless it's long enough for a complete re-spawn.
Chaurus are level 12, so don't go near them at level 7. The UESP wiki is useful for dungeon levels, and what's in them. And for guidance on what type of attack works on what creatures. Some creatures are totally immune to some spells, although there's nothing immune to physical attacks, like Oblivion Will-o-the-wisps.

It's a thing he does. No one knows why... *shrugs* Edit: See? Not even he knows This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Nov 2 2016, 09:14 PM
