Is this German for The Hive Mother?

Does sound like it could be or it could be "Sterben bienenstockmutter!" unsure.gif Hard to tell, my German is not as good as my grandfather's and he seldom spoke it. Certainly wasn't intentional.

Fabulous view of the Niben and Leyawiin!

Oooh, beholders! I remember them for Baldur’s Gate I, II. They are also in ESO and called watchers.

20210513 Deepscorn Hollow redecorated
It was the middle of the night when we exited the Beholden Lair. Exhausted and dreading the trip back to Leyawiin in the dark, we were relieved when we noticed Deepscorn Hollow was a just stone’s throw away. Why didn’t we notice that before? Doesn’t matter, we paid to have Deepscorn Hollow redecorate, might as well go see what improvements our gold bought. Surely there’s a large comfy bed.

Unable to remember where the hidden trap door entrance is located and being that it was too dark find it quickly we opted to take the submerged entrance. The tunnel leading from the submerged entrance opened up to a newly planted garden room.

As I stood there inspecting the Garden of Venomgrowth which to my chagrin was planted full of nothing but the most poisonous plants in Cyrodiil, a most terrifying scream echoed through the Deepscron Hollow.

“Feache, we got a problem,” Kaleah screamed. “The bed it’s a, a coffin!”

Racing up to find Kaleah and Pym, I saw what all the excitement was about. The bed really was a coffin, a rather richly appointed one coffin but still a coffin.

“I see. I don’t think we’ll be sleeping here tonight.”

For a moment my Ladies looked relieved at the prospect of not sleeping here in Deepscorn Hollow. Then suddenly Kaleah spun around and declared, “There’s one here, I can smell it!”

With that we set about searching the rest of the newly redecorated Deepscorn Hollow.

The dining area was a rather conventional design consisting nothing unusual here. It was the same with the newly decorated Study Area. Although, glancing at the titles of the books in the bookshelves; Manifesto Cyrodiil Vampyrum, Opusculus Lamae Bal ta Mezzamortie, Sithis, Immortal Blood, and Sacred Witness left us with an uncomfortable feeling.

Nothing unusual in the storage area, it was clean and re-organized with various chests and crates for safe storage. One chest, Greywyn's Poison Supply contained several bottles of poisons.

The room which we thought needed brightening the most wasn’t touched at all from what we could see. The, whatever you want to call it bath house, pool room, or Font of Renewal was still as damp, dark, and dingy as ever before. We did learn that bathing in it with Purgeblood Salts mined from the nearby Purgeblood Crystal Formations will cure Vampirism.

We were almost finished searching Deepscorn Hollow when we walked into an area which held a reconditioned prison cell. Imprisoned in the cell was a sleeping prisoner. We tried to wake him but he would not wake up. Marks of vampire were on his neck. The poor sod was magically bound and being used as a perpetual vampire feed station.

Along with Kaleah’s sense of smell this was further proof that at least one vampire was living here. Make sense with all that we’ve seen in throughout the rest of the Hollow. There was only one other room to check and that was the Shrine to Sithis.

There we found the vampire praying at the foot of the Shrine to Sithis. I pulled out Kendrel’s stake “Mr. Pointy” to kill it quickly.

“Feache,” Kaleah cautioned. “This is no ordinary vampire. It is bound to do your bidding as long as you own this lair. I don’t think you can kill it.”

She was right, the Minion didn’t die. Instead it stood up, turned around, and called me Master as it asked for instructions. I could if I desired command it to go kill in the name of Sithis. The darkest darkness enveloped me and for the briefest of moments my mind was burning with the desire to send this messenger out into the world to kill.

Suddenly Pym is standin’ beside me
She don't give me orders, she don't condescend
Suddenly Pym is here to provide me
Sweet understanding
Pym is my friend.

The glowing warmth of Pym’s touch flowed from her delicate soft caress sending her gentle cleansing light to wash away the violent colors of Oblivion from my mind.

Facing the Minion I commanded, “You will stay here. Allow only myself and my ladies to safely enter and stay here. Kill all others who try to enter.”

Turning to Kaleah and Pym I said, “Come Ladies let’s take what we can and get out of here.”

Greywyn was kind enough to leave the Raiment of the Crimson Scar (looks pretty good) and four caches of loot scattered about. His caches will almost reimburse us the cost of decorating this evil place. We also found an unusual box containing the Crimson Eviscerator. That evil dagger we left were we found it. We left Deepscorn Hollow intending never to return.

What a spooky place! I vaguely remember that DLC. Aww, nice that Pym pulled her Feache back from the edge of the dark side.

Pym surprised even me. I was just typing away, recanting the events when out it came. Strange how characters in a story just seem to take on a life on their own.

20210516 I-SL - Breaking the Monopoly meeting Tiridar
Once outside Kaleah turned to me and asked, “What now?”

“Hmmm, we still need to recruit a spellmaker for the Stranded Light. By rumors, there was a sea battle near here. Supposedly survivors made it to islands south of Cyrodiil. If we can locate a survivor perhaps one would willing to take on the position.”

So we walked east along the shore until we reached the Black Marsh border. Finding no evidence of any sea battle and sighting no islands other than the two we had just visited we dejectedly turned to go back to Leyawiin.

That’s when we stumbled upon an Argonian camp half hidden by the dense jungle. Judging by their hostile reaction to us passing by we assume that they were smugglers waiting for contacts or they were pirates tracking merchant ships passing by.

Tired we spent the night in the jungle at this little camp. The following morning we continued on our way to Leyawiin. We stopped when we passed by one of those abandoned MOO outpost towers. Entering the outpost we promptly got lost. It seemed like we roamed around for half a day in that maze of a dungeon until we finally found a red portal that transported us back to the entrance. There were no further distractions the rest of the way back to Leyawiin.

Roaming the Better Cities docks of Leyawiin we talked to everyone we met. So much talking dries the throat requiring frequent stops to recently opened rumor mills; Hjalmart’s Beer House, Cup of Sanguinius, and The Mermaid Inn. We even questioned the Khajiit vendors at the dock’s open air market.

Those cats trade in all sorts of goods and drugs, above board and under the table. No one knew anything other than what we already knew naval battle survivors made their way to an island south of Leyawiin.

Well, there’s the lighthouse island. Kind of small but who’s to say a fugitive wouldn’t hole up there. Swimming out to the lighthouse we find nothing. As we searched the lighthouse island I related to Kaleah the amazing feat Pym did back in Deepscorn Hollow.

Kaleah replied back that all Pym did was provide the spark to turn on the light within me. Her heterochromic eyes sparkled as she started talking about the transforming power of love and how wondrous it can be. She continued on about something or other but I was lost in thought and not paying attention.

Pointing out toward the horizon I exclaim, “If I’m not mistaken those are trees poking up from the ocean! Where there’re trees there’s must be an island.”

“Oh my gentle Feache, will you ever understand?” Kaleah whispered to herself. With a laugh, Kaleah regained her composure and added, “We best be off then.”

Casting Sea Stride we begin a long walk toward the tree tops which indeed turns out to be a small island holding the ruins of Fort Oceanmoth.

There, hiding out in her makeshift home we found the Maomer, Tiridar. We try to talk to her about the Stranded Light and the need for a Spellmaker but all she cares about is food. She’s tired of a diet of fish and crabs. Tiridar wants food that she can't find on her isle. She could also use a better looking robe, one more suited to the warmer more humid southern climate.

Tiridar would like us to fetch her bread, cheese (a whole wheel!), boar meat, and 10 oranges. Do that and then she’ll talk, we hope. Once again we’re reduced to being a courier service.

After a night’s rest we left Fort Oceanmoth early in the morning to go grocery shopping in Leyawiin.

Whoa, so those outpost towers lead to dungeons?? blink.gif Dang. Saga's found a couple of those, but walked right by, assuming it's just an old, abandoned tower which hasn't got anything useful to discover.

20210522 I-SL - Breaking the Monopoly 1 – Missing Tax Collector

Back in Leyawiin we’re hitting the shops for ingredients to make Tiridar a deli sandwich; bread, cheese (a whole wheel!), and boar meat. We figure it would be the 10 oranges that would be difficult to find. We were lucky to find a loaf of bread.

Why is it that shops never have what you want when you want it?

During our deli shopping excursion we passed by what should have been the burned out ruins of Rhea Miro's Scribe Services only the burning ruins were not there. Miro was killed and the shop destroyed during the Lost Spires adventure. In its place stood a nice little memorial dedicated to Rhea Miro (The Lost Spires - Cleaned Up Scribe Version 1.0 by AsteriaSennall).

(The mod also adds an undamaged Scribe Services building in which you can meet the living Rhea Miro as it should be prior to a certain step in the Lost Spires quest. What’s amazing is that this mod is only months old. It took over ten years before someone fixed that perpetually burning scribe shop.)

Leaving the new memorial, as we neared the Mages Guild Hall, we run into Elendil of White Haven. He sells spells so we ask to see his selection. One spell in particular, Food For Thought peaks our interest. Using magic to convert gold into food, just might be useful. We bought it.

Expensive at 200 septims a pop, the spell will yield 10 items of a random food item. The Jandaga gave it try. Two hundred septims disappear to be replaced by 10 onions. A second try yielded 10 venison steaks. Potatoes and more onions were obtained before the spell hit on cheese wheels. A final try gave us strawberries. Twelve hundred septims for a cheese wheels not a very good return so we decide to leave Leyawiin hoping shopping in Bravil would be more productive.

Traveling the Green Road north we passed an intersection. The road sign pointing west read, Rimmen.

The Road to Rimmen," Kaleah cooed in my ear. "Sounds like fun, take it. We’ve not been there. Who knows what we’ll find. Let’s take it.”

Crossing the bridge at the Elsweyr border someone had dropped another book on the attractions of Elsweyr. Doesn’t help us but we pick it up thinking we could sell it in Rimmen.

Entering the gates of Rimmen we stand in awe of the sights, sounds, and exotic smells of Rimmen’s Grand Bazaar. With Cathay and Cathay-raht vendors hawking their wares we browsed the stalls in search boar meat and oranges. We were unsuccessful.

Leaving Rimmen, thinking that we would have better luck finding oranges in southern Elsweyr we take the road west.

“Are you sure you’re not confusing oranges with pineapples and coconuts?” Kaleah asks.

We didn’t go far, just outside the city walls we spot Smiling Camp. The camp looked so inviting with its roaring fire and three tents with useable bedrolls. The suggestion was made to cooking dinner and sleep in the tents if no one showed up to claim them.

As we were fixing up dinner a Khajiit Scout by the name of Karrizy walked into camp. Over dinner we get to talking. Karrizy is a little evasive when asked about her business. A little of this and a little of that, is all she says.

Now where have I heard that before?

Karrizy goes on to ask if we’d help find a missing tax collector. She claims the taxman is crooked, a thief who inflates people’s taxes to pad his own pockets. If we would find this taxman and bring her the money he stole, Karrizy says she’ll redistribute the money to the people.

Sounds good, if the occasion arises we’ll look in to it.

When dinner was over and we were beginning to unwind feeling relaxed we realized that finding boar meat and 10 oranges is going to take longer we’d wish. We decided to gamble on the Food For Thought spell again.

“Come on you can do this,” Kaleah encouraged. “You summon Dremora Lords and Xivilai to do your bidding a bunch of oranges should be a snap. After all what can a bunch of oranges do to you if you make a mistake, juice you death?”

“Well, yeah. They get you all soaked up in sweet sticky juice and the next thing you know is those giant ants with the two-foot jaws come and drag you away to their anthill where they do all sorts of nasty things to you.”

“I heard staring into the fire helps one’s concentration,” purred Karrizy trying to be helpful.

Whatever it was, all I’ll say is that everything fell into place perfectly because we scored boar meat on the very first try and 10 oranges on the second. We’ll leave for Oceanmoth after a good night’s sleep.

An Integration - Stranded Light spell that's definitely a spell of desperation and last resort. Won't be using this one much.

So in another place I was asked, “Have you considered if there is any connection between Feyfolken and the Fey? The name is rather suggestive.”

My answer was, “No, I had never considered it but it is an intriguing question. Breaking down the name Feyfolken does tend to lead one to think ‘fey folk’.”

Oh hello, I wonder who it was that asked that question? wink.gif biggrin.gif

Yes, ok, it was me. I had just come across the Feyfolken books (again) somewhere in Oblivion, and that reminded me. It would be great to read about Jandaga taking on the search for the quill!

...And so this is the thread where you and Renee hang out with the stories. I was looking under Fan Fiction, but no, it's here. I put Lena under Fan Fiction though because she travels between Cyrodiil and Skyrim, so doesn't really fit into any one place.

Great to see that Jandaga's adventures continue! biggrin.gif

I am going to have to learn how to make a quest mod one of these days. I'm sure you've also noticed that I will acknowledge other players' characters in my adventure. Being 200 or more years in the future makes it hard fit in Lena Wolf, so you're safe. sad.gif

When I started posting here I was already familiar with the site. For years I lurked and read the stories here. Oh my goodness there some very good writers here.
Well to make a long story short I put my first post in this thread. Acadian offered to move it to a thread of my own, I didn't feel up to snuff for Fan/Fic and I put in a lot of spoilers. So I declined. The right choice? Maybe, may not. unsure.gif

Is that real? You cast a spell and random food appears? blink.gif You know, there was a DnD spell which did the same thing. There was also a Create Water spell, I believe.

That one picture with the road and all the foliage is freeking pretty. I bet your rig's taking a framerate hit there! Lol

That is good you dove into Fan Fiction, and I agree, it'll make more sense as she travels to different provinces. You won't have to jump from the Skyrim section to here, and over to Morrowind, and so on.

I was looking under Fan Fiction, but no, it's here

I'll eventually put a story in fan fiction, but I consider that forum to be reserved for my very best work, in which I edit and pine over text for up to several months. Otherwise, I like writing outside of FF, just because it's more casual out here. Some stories might be a thousand words, others might only be a dozen or so. smile.gif

Yes it is a real spell out of the Integration/Integrated - The Stranded Light mod. to cast the spell is costly as transmutes 200 gold coins into ten pieces of a random food item.

Ok, here's a secret: I am post-RSI. In 2003 I couldn't use the keyboard or mouse for a whole year, and my body still remembers the pain. I cannot use a normal keyboard or mouse at all, I've got fancy stuff - very expensive. And I still have to limit my typing and mousing. And I work in IT... laugh.gif So, what I've learned to do, is think before typing. blink.gif Crazy, I know. biggrin.gif But I basically work out everything in my head - or with the help of pen and paper - before taking to the keyboard. This includes work. I prefer not to put bugs into my programs because I hate debugging... So this is why playing a game with keyboard and mouse controls is just off limits for me.
