Cho Zen Wan has just one cap.

Well, he's got more than this, but only one cap on his person. He's in Rivet City, afterhours. Just got done taking care of that "mutant problem" down at The Mall, once again. He'll be able to earn some mad caps after the markets open.
I'm probably gonna stop being with Cho for a while.

Just because his game at this point is pretty random & shiftless, and as a Level 30 character with a team of Brotherhood to travel with, most of the challenge is gone from my persepctive. And I'm wanting to try some other games on sunny days. Mass Effect 1 is top on the list. I'll still be with Janet, and will play some New Vegas too.
Meh, does anybody care?

Anyway, I've no doubt got a huge backlog of Cho screenies. Should start sharing those soon.

So relatable. Most of my characters that don't have a natural story act tend to burn out like this. Just happened in Skyrim with my most recent girl, Helia. Finished up the main quest and there was no desire to continue playing.
Renee
May 7 2025, 03:40 PM
Helia sounds like she's ready for her castle or manor or whatever. Retirement.

It's not like I'll never visit Cho again. He's hella fun to be with for sure. But ya know, there's this list of
other games I want to try: Fallout 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, finishing New Vegas at least once, etc. Maybe Starfield, etc.
It's weird to talk like this right? Time to prioritize our gaming.

Quite the session today; close to 3,5 hours!

Lotsa shots fired, lotsa loot collected and lotsa caps added; 7091 to be exact. This was an interesting one with many things happening; finding Wolfgang out in the wild being one of them. I usually don't find merchants other than at their established selling points like outside Rivet City, but now it's happened twice.
Current location: west of Fort Constantine
Renee
May 11 2025, 05:11 PM
3.5 hours is typical for me on a day off.

Sometimes more, sometimes less. Cool, another Wolfgang sighting. They happen rarely.
I am playing too. Janet Telia is in Roosevelt Academy, pwning some mutants. Later she'll head to the "northwest corner of the map", which is where the next Lopov bounty (an inbred family of baddies) is supposed to exist. She currently has four other Talon soldiers with her, as well as her Tooth, her dog. đ¶ Apparently the inbred family is a lot of enemies, so she's got an entire gang with her.
mirocu
May 11 2025, 05:16 PM
So she's going after baddies but she also work with baddies?
Also, pwning mutants at Roosevelt is fun. There's usually a bunch of Deathclaws there too to target practice at

QUOTE(mirocu @ May 11 2025, 12:16 PM)

So she's going after baddies but she also work with baddies?
Yes. And she often wears raider armor when traveling the CW, which aligns her with raiders automatically (due to scripts I wrote). Problem is, now that she's traveling with Talon Company, if they happen to encounter raiders, everyone on her Pip Boy looks like her friends!

She can't just fire into the crowd at those moments...
QUOTE

Yes, we saw a couple already. Deathclaws in Fallout 3 are easy compared to New Vegas deathies, by the way. Or maybe it's the fact Janet just attained Level 20....

Anyway, Janet traveled from SatCom Navigation Tower to the area where Lopov's Goslin Family lives, but she did this alone. She left the soldiers and even her dog behind, so she could scout the place without those goons ruining everything with over-macho behavior. Which was a GOOD idea. She found the place, but also took care of ten or so mirelurks along the way. See, if she'd brought the soldiers along, chances are most (or all) of their ammo would get wasted trying to take down those 'lurks, and mostly missing. But now they won't have to waste their ammo, since Jan already paved the way.
So now she has the option of trying to take the Goslin family on her own, or she might head back to the tower (which can still be seen in the distance) and grab her soldiers + dog. We shall see.

Thanks for asking. Not really alone 100%. Sometimes she parties with them (she's into chems, ahem) or spends the night, and so on. But only if she's wearing raider armor. It's a surprisingly simply script, which looks like this...
scriptname aaaFactionChangingArmorScript
Begin OnEquip Player
Player.SetFactionRank aaaFaction 1
End
Begin OnUnequip Player
Player.SetFactionRank aaaFaction -1
End
Attach that to any wearable item, and substitute "aaaFaction" with a custom-made faction which is compatible with raiders, mutants, whatever you desire.

Nice. I only play Fallout (or Mass Effect) on sunny days.

Elder Scrolls games on cloudy ones. Baldur's Gate at night. I mostly play Bethesda or Bioware games in bed, but Baldur's Gate requires the
BIG comfy chair.

Once summer kicks in Sims 2 Castaway might become another sunny-day game. Due to its tropical setting, of course. That's the game in which Genna Rossity is stuck on a desert island.

Another 100.000 caps collected!Total amount (No, not my actual bank account

)
Was in a bit of a pickle today when in the area of Sniper's Shack. When attracting the attention of some Super Mutants I managed to get seriously injured because for some reason I didn't get behind cover fast enough. It was so bad I was down to two (2) measly health bars!

Adding to that I was also suffering from advanced radiation poisoning from coming too close to Vault 87, but that actually works in my favor since I automatically regenerate crippling body parts and also keep me functioning at peak performance. So after awhile all my health stats were topped off again. Well, apart from still just having two health bars overall...

Anyway, time to start working on the next 100.000 caps!

Gunny is becoming Grumpy; had two bugs occurring yesterday.
First one in which Gunny used his flamethrower but even after he had stopped, the sound effect was still audioable. Had to save and reload another save and then the latest save again.
Second one had him not opening his inventory upon request. After his "Yes, sir!" I got back to the dialogue options again. Had to save, exit the game and then return.

I have had both of these bugs in Fallout 4! Gotta love those weird engine bugs! The audio usually only happens with automatic weapons in 4 though. The reloading bug I tested a couple of times and found that it breaks when you interrupt the animation by activating something or auto/quicksaving.

Renee
Jul 22 2025, 05:57 PM
Yes I have noticed plenty of "audioable" glitches as well.
OT: gonna try return to Janet today.
These are the notes I made before my stroke...
+....JANET -
Jan just arrived in Big Town. Really took a beating from some mutants up north and needs lots of rest. She already bought + sold, including lots of food. Might want to visit Red for chems. She's got LOTS of caps (too many) on her person, Janet does.
Missions:ENEMIES OF THE WASTES
1). Pwn Hookah in Satcom Tower 05a.
TALON COMPANY
Stop in Bannister first though. Speak to Hugh G. Rexxion and see if he'll pay her. She delivered the computer chip to the wrong NPC.
2). Pwn 4-handed Geoffrey near Farifax Ruins. Make sure to wear something "shabby" like Wasteland Settler Outfit (will raider armor do?)
UPDATE: she is bored with this mission. Wandered all around Fairfax, no Jeff. She's on her way back to Megaton for a new mission.
UPDATE: the Virgo dish has been collected and is lying on the ground outside the Monument
============================
DATE
it is May in her game.
--------------------------------------
ENEMIES OF THE WASTES
Pwn 4-Hand Jeffrey (taking a break on this one)
Pwn Hookah (a Caucasian woman) in Satcomm Nav 05a.
-------------------------------------
Talon Company quests
The Activator panel to the left of door where Hugh G. Rexxon is resets all the objectives and missinos of Bannister, sloved.
-----------------------------------
Generic Wasteland Quests
Nothing atm.
------------------------------
"Android" mission (from Rivet City I'm assuming). Janet has casually slipped into following this mission's quests without really knowing that the hell it is. I've been choosing whatever ambivelent of dismissive topics there are, RPing that Janet has no idea what's going on, or why she should care.
---------------------------
RANDOM
Janet found a note on a dead wastelander, who was found killed in front of WKML Broadcast Station. The wastelander also had a key, and the note says: the wastelander (John) stole something but felt bad about stealing, so he left whatever he stole in the"old scrapyard north of Bethesda ruins". Look in the burned-out bus, near the old red boxcar. Makes me wonder if this is mod-added by the bus mod.
-----------------------------------------
NOTES
She's got a Dismantled Motorcycle located in front of Silver's house. Not sure how to get it running. Moira does not sell any extra parts, and I'm pretty sure it needs handlbars or a gas tank or etc.
-------------------------------------
STORAGE
Other than the obvious (Fort Bannister) Janet found Theodore Osborne's house, which is west of Tenpenny. Place is a dump but there are over 40,000 Pre-war bills in Theo's safe. There is also a Sniper Rifle and a nearly-pristine scoped .44 and some ammo.
Tenpenny Suite.esp: use the activator button on the left of the elevator door . In her safe there should be 39,000+ prewar bills and this has been locked with an Average lock.
Janet really hasn't got much stashed all over, though. Her Rivet City Goggles are usually hidden in a trash can located just north of Rivet City. These are needed to make her not get attacked by RC guards.
Rivet City: Sister's room, which is just outside of the Marketplace, and on the left.
----------------------------------------
BUGS
There are two main bugs in her game: CTD on Save and CTD after X amount of time. What I did was one day stripped her game entirely down to .esms and DLC until it did not crash on save. Then I added mod after mod.
1). Several mods cause the CTD on Save glitch, and unfortunately Enemies of the Wastes is definitely one of them. This is something we gonna have to live with.
2). The CTD after X amount of time is mosty caused by Fallout 3 Addtions.esp. I can live with this. If ever there is also a time when Janet can't go a few meters without a crash try temporarily disabling FODAddtions.esp. It can be turned back on once she's back in her usual territory.
See that's a lot, right? I would be lost without notes in all these different games.

I can see that. As for me I've done the same tuff in Fallout 3 for at least ten years so nothing's new

Oh, and I don't have Red to barter with in my game, btw. The mutants got him because I wasn't good at dealing with many of them at the same time in the open. Back then I still used sneak a lot, a practice that go back to the early 2000s.

The little bits that tell stories with the way they are arranged. A teddy bear doing check-ups on other toys, or some skeletons that were fighting or watching tv when the bombs fell. I forget where it was now, but playing Skyrim a few days ago I found a dead troll under a bridge. There was no note on the body, but it wasn't a live troll that had been killed. It had been placed there dead by the developers. I am certain it was a nod to the same troll in Oblivion.

10.28.2287-- Jenn X still wanders around the Commonwealth but hasn't made much progress away from the opening areas of the game. She likes Abernathy Farm because there's a woman who trades and food to harvest, a little taste of the old days before the war. but Jen had an awful time exploring Concord. Mostly my fault; my reflexes are way off these days during combat, even though I've made great progress IRL with therapy. So... just taking the exploration of this game slow.
Some random observations...
1). I LOVE this game's Classical music station. Jen still wants grunge/punk (being a spoof of Generation X....) but I find myself and digging the soothing classical. Maybe because so far I haven't heard a song I recognize from TV commercials or store music.
2). Nuisance creatures are often more difficult to deal with. I'm particularly surprised mole rats really are moles, which burrow underground and scare the heck out of us when they BURST to the surface! đ
3). Super mutants don't automatically show up as red dots on the compass! Dangit, that kind of sucks. Raiders still track immediately as enemies though. We witnessed an awesome battle between a raider and a mutant not long ago; Jennifer taking potshots at both from her hiding spot.
