Well finally got around to upgrading the Proton Pack to the deluxe version. There's another version called the Life sized version but they're $200.00 and hard to find and don't get me started on the Hasbro Proton Pack, that thing is $700.00!

I think I started early, without realizing it. Lately instead of listening to podcasts I have been listening to audiobooks. I started a few weeks ago with the works of HP Lovecraft. Then I moved to Algernon Blackwood and Arthur Machen. Now I am into the Carnaki the Ghost Finder stories, and some of the Robert E Howard Conrad and Kirowan stories.

Plus I rewatched the recent animated Addams Family movies last week.I really loved the focus they placed on Wednesday in them. She has been my favorite Addams since the 90s movies, when Christina Ricci played her.

Did you watch the Wednesday series on Netflix?

I did. I liked it. I think a new season is coming out soon. I am seeing merch for it in stores, like a Wednesday cereal (it is cookies and cream - black and white).

I thought it was fun seeing Christina in the same universe but in a different role, and Jenna Ortega really does a good job in the role of Wednesday. I wasn’t as keen on Catherine Zeta Jones and Luis Guzman as Morticia and Gomez, but maybe that was partially because it’s hard for me to imagine anyone other than Anjelica Houston and Raul Julia in those roles (I never saw enough of the old tv show to form much of an opinion on it), and partly because they didn’t get as much screen time for us to get accustomed to their portrayal of the characters. I say that but then I didn’t actually finish season 1 because I have a really short attention span and got onto something else. I need to go back and finish it at some point.

In the two recent animated movies they had Oscar Isaac play Gomez, and Charlize Theron play Morticia. Both of them were awesome. I think Oscar Isaac would be perfect to play Gomez live action as well. The same with Charlize, though obviously she would need to dye her hair and probably wear a wig.

I could see Oscar Isaac playing Gomez. He had a bit of a Gomez Addams vibe going on in the film Sucker Punch. How did he play Gomez in the animated ones? Was he manic like Raul Julia or was he more reserved?

Not sure about Charlize Theron as a live action Morticia. She’d probably do fine, but I have trouble picturing it.

He was manic, that is Gomez after all. But not quite as wild as Raul Julia.

I'm looking forward to a new Broken Peach Halloween video.

Mrs. Khajiit put up our decorations a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure I will do a jack-o-lantern at some point.

Finished up Spooktober with our traditional annual viewing of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow. Our two little neighbors also came by and grabbed some candy, but other than that, it was a quiet night. And we had a really nice thunderstorm with rain, which we haven’t had in a while!

My work is having a small Halloween picnic/carnival on Friday that I might go to.

No real plans for me, but Buffy's looking forward to ESO's annual Witches Festival where she gets to do some fun things in game.

She's got her hat, costume and bling mostly ready for it.

I'm having toe surgery on the 29th, so my costume this year will be Grumpy Woman In Recliner Eating Candy In The Dark. Oh! I did put a pumpkin on the porch.

Jerric is already wearing his witch hat. There is a baby netch in a ghost costume following him. Yay, Witches Festival!

We usually have my parents, sister, and BIL over to pass out candy. Pops and I will walk Kane Jr. around the neighborhood.


I also got selected as a volunteer for Halloween at his school. That will be a hoot!

What's really scary is Mariah Kerry's defrosting has begun! You can just hear that song now!!

Well, that is a scary thing so I guess it's in line with Spooktober....

TS is gross? I don't know her music, but I think she's gorgeous. I love a tall, square-jawed queen! She looks like one of my Nord ladies.

Seriously though, I read that she gave out huge bonuses to her tour workers. That's my only TS fact. lol

In Spooktober news I have the flu and it has been pouring rain, so no further decorating has occurred in Grits world. One of my neighbors had a full-on Thriller cemetery set in his yard last year, so at least I have hopes for the the neighborhood.
