Not sure if this is a Tip or a Warning:

If you go yo the new Armory Station, and save your current setup as Build 1, then switch to Build 2 ( initially empty) and LOAD it,then it will do just that. Your character is naked, has all skill points, attributes and CP refunded, and you can re-assign everything.

For my Vicuña, who's a tank, this let her create a second DPS build which can actually do damage, Of course, if you just want a minor change, then putting all your points back is a major grind.
Acadian
Buffy just logs over to the build she wants. Her method includes even a class change. Lol.

So the Armory system in its current state is of no interest to her.

What she wants is the equivalent of an Armory system for Mirri to ease changing companion roles. Essential to this would be for Mirri to have a little companion inventory to carry her own extra gear.
Acadian
mALX was asking me in a PM about companion rapport and I found this for all four of the current companions:

Follow the source link from Alcast’s and you’ll get more info. For example, Ember does not like fishing (too boring) and there is no mention of that. The link takes you to the new companions thread, but there is another for Mirri and Bastian on the PTS forum.

I find it curious that Ember gets three ways to raise by 125 but Bastian only has one.

Also, the two new companions have personal quests, just like the first two, and they start at rapport 1500, and 2750, and each quest gives 500 rapport. These numbers are the same for all four now, but when Mirri was new, you got both of her quests back to back, as it triggered at 1750, instead of 2750. Fixed long ago. One difference with the latest pair is that they have an extra personal quest each before you get them as houseguests. Looking back at my PTS results, it appears that the final personal quest is at 4000 rapport and awards the +500, matching the prior two.

None of my characters has got that far on live, yet. We can confirm 4000. Ember and Isobel are both houseguests on NA, and Ember also on EU. Isobel’s daily WB’s are harder to do when there is nobody else around, so we only have 3800 rapport on EU.
ghastley
I was going to suggest that those of us who routinely (automatically?) decline duels team up to get Isolbel's achievement, but it looks like it's bugged.

Let's hope it gets fixed before the next guild meets.

When they added Mundus stones to the armory Station, already saved builds didn't have them, so if you re-loaded after that patch, you lost your boon. Today's tip, is to remember to go back and save again after you re-acquire it.

Guess who forgot on most of his characters?

At the NA Guild meetup we were discussing how without add-ons to visit other players’ open houses.

To teleport to a player’s primary residence, enter into the chat box:

/script JumpToHouse("@playerid")

This is useful to reach an event hosted at a player’s house who is not a friend or guildie.

To teleport to any of a player’s houses that are set to allow visitors, enter into the chat box:

/script JumpToSpecificHouse("@playerid", houseid)

For house id numbers by house, here is a link to the UESP Player Housing page:
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Player_Housing

So for example if you want to stop by Jerric’s cottage you would use:

/script JumpToSpecificHouse("@Grits.01", 28)

Acadian
Cool! Thanks!
ghastley
The functions available for the /script chat command are documented in the esoui wiki, so I went looking for something that tells you which houses the player owns. I found the haystack, but not the needle.

So the add-ons still have their place, stringing the right calls together.

The alternative is a thread where we list our open homes with their numbers?
Grits
An Open House thread with numbers is a great idea. That way folks will know they are welcome.

As primarily a soloist, Buffy is very keen on trying to ensure she can bust through any foe's resistances using only her own debuffs. We know that the max resistances you will encounter in the game is just over 18k. We also know that those high resistance levels are found on group dungeon bosses - which Buffy routinely hunts.
We also know that overland trash mobs like wolves and trolls have about 9k resists. But our question has long been how much resist do world bosses and group dungeon trash mobs have?

I've asked on the ESO official forums and gotten inconclusive answers as to what experienced players 'think'. The best clue we got was to test it ourselves. This involves using the Two Handed weapon skill with briefly transfers 100% of a foe's resistance to you. Okay. Two Handed to 50 to get the ultimate. . . obviously a job for Acadian since Buffy wouldn't know which end of a melee weapon is which.

So. . . Acadian used xp scrolls and the current double xp event to do exactly that and can now slot the 2H ultimate. Sure enough, when you smack a mob with that ultimate it transfers all their resists to you. And, happily, Combat Metrix addon captures that quite nicely. For example, we know Acadian goes into a fight with his resists at 33k. Smacking a group dungeon boss shows up on Combat Metrix as his resists were normally 33k but peaked at 51k. Therefore, no surprise that the boss has the expected 18k resists. Once we figured how to definitively test, the rest was easy and here's our results:

Group dungeon bosses - 18k.
Group dungeon trash - 18k.
World bosses - 9k.
Overland trash - 9k.

Wow, you didn't tell me you were doing all this with Acadian! Really interesting stuff; I always love to hear about experiments like this! Thanks for the info; really good to know!

While we can't login, it's time to figure out how to take advantage of the free ESO+ period.

It looks like some things persist if you get them. E.g.
  • I can dye a costume, and it won't revert.
  • I can join the Psijics, and see the portals after it expires.
  • I don't know if I have time to raise antiquities skills, but the chest perk would persist.
  • Antiquities acquired can be kept - including Mythics.

On the other hand
  • Companions can't be unlocked.
  • Jewelry crafting turns back off.
  • Can't scry or excavate after the trial period.

Am I missing anything important?

Collectibles such as hats and pets that you acquire by visiting certain DLC zones and dungeons are kept.

Buffy hit upon a fun trick whenever faced with an endeavor or golden pursuit task that involves healing with a scribed skill. Her version of Banner has a small continuing health cost and significant heal over time. This enables her to slot Banner, activate it and go fishing until the endeavor pops complete. The small loss of health (750 hp / sec) in her case) is continuously healed by the same amount every second.
Grits
What a great idea! Thank you for sharing it!

That's a great idea! I'm a little unsure how you've set it up though? Sage's Remedy for the Heal Over Time, I'm guessing, but what did you use for the drain health effect?
Acadian
Hers has heal over time (sage remedy) and some other minor boosts that are not redundant with Oakensoul. The cost to have the banner active is the small drain on her health which the banner HoT constantly tops up - also keeping Soell Power Cure up.

She only slots the banner for those endeavors requiring healing with a scribed skill.

Edit: Just looked up her version of Banner.
Grimmoire: Banner Bearer
Focus: Immobilize (prevents snares and Immobilizations)
Signature: Sage's Remedy (HoT)
Affix: Resolve (minor resolve - a buff not provided by Oakensoul)
Cost: 720 stam/2 sec and 720 health/2 sec

Might as well ask here. Cybbi is at the final boss stage of Vateshran Hollows, and manages to reach two of the islands. At this point, she is regularly unable to kill one of the ring of shades, because the other mobs get in the way of her spells or arrows. Any tips on how to get a clear shot? Her bow ultimate should do the trick, if nothing gets in the way, but something always does. sad.gif

My tip is to do some Antiquities instead of the dungeon, lol.

Are you dealing with the adds first? My usual way is to throw down an aoe Major Breach (Shalks, Caltrops etc) and then blast away. If it's the enclosing ring, just focus on one. If there's that many adds that they're getting in the way of a shot though, I suspect you've not dealt with enough of them first. AOE damage is much more effective in that fight than single target damage, so maybe look at the skills you're using, and have you got enough Penetration? Arena's are one of the few places that having high Pen is useful, as enemies have 18,200 resistances, so you need to source the debuffs yourself. Easy ways are to make sure you have a source of Major Breach, and swap the Mundus to the Lover. Let me see if I can find Xynode's guide, see if that helps you.

As she's normally a tank, she would be getting Breach from her S&B Pierce Armor, but for this she has 2H and bow, and needs another source. No Caltrops, but she can use a scribed one.

Swapping to the Lover has brought her up to 8k pen, doubling what Spriggan's provides. Now to see what essential she has given up for those boosts.

Mostly she just needs some luck, as the timing of the shade ring has caught her with fresh enemies spawning in her way a couple of times, and once she returned from an island just as it formed where she landed.

Make use of your weapon skills ground AOE's. Volley for Bow, Stampede for 2 Handed. Both tick every 1 second, rather than 2, both will continue to proc your weapon enchants when you bar swap, and I'd suggest putting Absorb Stamina enchants on both, as that will keep a good uptime on the Sundered status effect, which does both damage and provides Minor Breach. And gives you stamina back, which is always nice.

Good luck! I await to hear your victorious result!
