OH wow. Haven't seen that one yet!!

Here's another one, and I'm assuming you all have already seen this one: I liked it when Haaf-Mersey came home with Marcurio from Shriekwind Bastion, and Lucia greeted him as usual, but then asked for some gold, just the way kids usually do it! huh.gif And then I was further shocked that the game gave me like 6 or 7 different choices: 5 gold, 25, 50, and 100, no gold, "go away"... I think that's what the choices were. 100 just seemed too much, I think he gave her 50.

I wanna try 5 next time, see if she calls Haaf-Mersey a cheapskate in so many words!.

I haven't done any of the Hearthfire stuff yet, so that's cool to know. smile.gif
Fawkes
I want Hearthfire!

On my end, so Gilliam gets send to jail for accidentally stabbing someone, all accidental of course, while in the Solitude jail he looked around for a exit, strangest thing happened. a guard opened the door for him, and all the guards acted like nothing happened, heck Gilliam picked the chest with his items in front of the guards and no one cared. Glitch perhaps, or is Gilliam pulling strings without me knowing?
King Coin
Guards high on skooma? Was this just after happy hour at the tavern?
Lady Saga
Oh wow, that is freeking bizarre, berret.

I think everyone knows that Helgen restocks with bandits after a while. What I never knew until yesterday was that this does not just include the exterior, but also the inside of Helgen Keep. The bandits go down all through the place, and even repaired the bridge that gets knocked out by rocks after you and Hadlof go though it. The only place they did not get to is the room with the spiders. Oh, and the sleepy bear moved out.
Lady Saga
WHAT? Lol it's been awhile. I've been in Helgen Keep after the fact, I think I remember coming up against groups of enemies down there: I thought I had ran into either Stormcloaks or Imperials, though. Not bandits.

Then again, my memory sucks. Could be that I did run into bandits in the Keep, but I later on my burnt-out brain was remembering something else. Anyways this is good news. I've always enjoyed fighting NPCs the most. Stalking them out of Helgen Keep should be lots of fun. with all its rooms and corridors and caves.

EDTI: I mean edit. smile.gif Another thing (although this isn't so new for me) is the bandits in Helgen also clear out the rubble which blocks us from climbing to the very top of the tower (tallest one we can climb, that is). In the Tutorial, we can't climb all the way to the top, we are forced must jump from the tower to the burning house below, because the dragon blocks the stairs after blowing out the wall.

Being a bandit isn't always skooma sucking and drunken raids against innocent travelers then. They actually are industrious and have chores at times.

Wo.w what the hamster!? How long have I had this game??? Over a year. I FINALLY found the little ant farm, little ants running around a tree stump just opposite Riverwood. I have walked by this stump .... literally hundreds of times. Today I'm walking my new character by and she just happened to look down

Anyways....sorry, just had to get that off my chest. I think I've heard that there's ants in this game, but it took me this long to finally find them.

They're hard to spot aren't they?

Yup! I think perhaps because it was very sunny on this particular day, and my newest just happened to pause (for no reason) just before the tree stump. And then I just happened to look down.

Kind of a chain-reaction of events. cool.gif

I've been noticing a lot of little things since I've started my character over. One was a surprise decapitation kill move. She did this whirl and off goes the bandit's head.

Last night The Girl’s character went through Bleak Falls Barrow. I thought I had seen everything that place has to offer. But no.

Remember the part in the middle where it’s open to the sky with a bridge and waterfall? You can walk down to the bottom and loot some skeevers, skeletons, and a chest after you kill the Frost troll (or draugr) on the bridge.

Well The Girl’s character is traveling with Serana. I was writing Christmas cards and not really paying attention since I thought I’d seen it all. Until The Girl said, “Who’s Thomas?”

I looked up ready to call B.S. and saw a bandit-looking resurrected guy named Serana’s Thomas. That’s funny, there are no bandits anywhere near that part of the barrow. I know because I’ve seen it all. But there he was.

So I said, “Wait until he turns to ash. Maybe he’ll have a note.”

He did have a note. Apparently Thomas fell down into the barrow from out on the mountainside, and his body was on some ledge up above that I would never have seen without a necromancer’s assistance. Something new in Bleak Falls Barrow. Awesome. smile.gif

King Coin
Wow. Never saw that either.
SubRosa
I do not think I have ever noticed that either, and I have been in BFB a zillion times! ohmy.gif
Elisabeth Hollow
Wow, going back to bfb lol
Lady Saga
Heh heh this is one little detail I did come across a long time ago, probably over a year ago. I've been thru BFB way too many times, i guess. I haven't tried resurrecting the guy, though.

Cheers
Lady Saga
HOly compassion! I know this is the Spoilers section, but you'll have to highlight the text below to read this one. It's HEARTHFIRE stuff.

So I've got some time to game this afternoon. Lord Haaf-Mersey comes home and Lucia says "I've found a pet, can I keep him?" OMG it's a rabbit! It's soo cool. Follows her around the house. She also plays with it, lies on the floor to look into the rabbit's eyes. biggrin.gif Just like kids usually do. smile.gif

EDIT: I gotta see if I can find a dog that'll follow LHM home at some poitn!
King Coin
I've heard of less desirable critters being brought home.
Elisabeth Hollow
When I adopted Lucia, she brought home a fox. Thank god, because apparently they can ask for a spider...

Has anyone else found the Giant Mudcrab easter egg yet? My friend was playing Skyrim the other day and holy frick...a bunch of tiny mudcrabs busted from it and were apparently using it as a home lmfao

Yes and all of them gained up on me and almost killed me blink.gif im glad the giant mud crab was dead, or I would have been crab meat laugh.gif
Lady Saga
I've never even heard of a giant mudcrab in Skyrim, but it doesn't surprise me there's one in the game.

Supposedly there's a giant something in every Elder Scrolls game. It's their thing, I guess?
Grits
I think that giant mudcrab is a quest location. It's a fun find even when not on the quest. smile.gif

Watching my kids play Skyrim is hilarious. I’m seeing all kinds of funny. Today’s quote from a guard: You know, I could have gone into that sanctuary, killed all those Dark Brotherhood types. But I was… sick that day.

Also last night I saw Argis the Bulwark dual wielding staves! Argis the battlemage! It was awesome. He also used a staff and blade as well as blade and shield. I didn’t see him using a staff and shield, but I was making cookies while watching and might have missed it.

Watching my nephew play is hilarious. laugh.gif He has both Oblivion and skyrim. His method of playing is to run around everywhere. He does "teabags" (squats in sneak mode) over dead bodies. You have to be there....I can't really describe it.

Granted, I can't play like that, but it's funny to watch

My middle brother is obsessed with teabagging on COD...I don't see the point except to be gross XD and make the other players angry lol

Ok just the other day, my character was sneaking around and suddenly pressed something and they did a roll! I saw Kharjo do it as well. Not sure what I did, I tried doing it again today and didn't get anything. I was pretty sure I was either pressing the sprint button or the jump button.

I have seen this happen long ago wtih one of mine; I think it was Crystal Beth on the PS3. She was running towards some fort, and she did this roll somehow. And I could never get it to happen again yet I know what I saw!

I think I read about it. It's a glitch if I'm not mistaken. It might have something to do with one of the perks we can choose for Stealth. I think. I dunno, I'll have to see if I can find some literature on this one.

The perk is called " Execution Roll" or something like that. It's a stealth perk, and to do it you need to press the sprint button while sneaking.

Huh, thanks for the info, but Aravi doesn't have any of the sneak perks. I wonder how it happened? Must have been a glitch.

It is a glitch. When in sneak mode, if you sheath your sword then press sprint, you can do the roll.

Well... I wonder if it is worth trying to take advantage of then. Usually sheathing a blade is a bad thing though...

It is kind of silly that I never noticed this until now, considering all of the characters I have created. But I just found a campsite that I never paid any attention to before. It is about a hundred feet from the cave you exit from after escaping Helgen, to the left of the path. There is a little tent, a campfire, a cooking pot, and a woodpile. You can see the cave in the background. I guess I was always too busy talking to Ralof and picking flowers to notice it before.

Can someone verify if that is in vanilla Skyrim? I wonder if it was added by the Alternate Start mod I had on.
Lady Saga
Ha ha picking flowers. biggrin.gif That's usually me, too. Nearly get killed by a dragon? Barely escape with one's life? Ha, let's pick some flowers.

I think that could be a hunter's camp. I am not entirely sure if that's a vanilla or modded difference, but now that you've brought that up I'll be looking for that. Hunters often leave their camps (as you may know) during the day, making it seem as if there's nobody there. Maybe try going back there at night, see if there's anybody there.

Does that camp have a name?

SubRosa
I did some testing, and it is added by the Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod. I have no idea why. Maybe it is one of the alternate start locations?
King Coin
I can definitely see that. That mod is intriguing, but I haven't had the opportunity to try it. Aravi is supposed to the the Dragonborn after all.
SubRosa
As I understand it, you can still start the main quest any time you want. I think you just have to go to Helgen.
King Coin
For her story, the default opening works very well.
SubRosa
I heard something new just a moment ago. I am trying to decide what outfit my new character will wear. After disabling the mod whose armor she last tried on, she was left naked. The owner of Quicksilver Mine in Dawnstar walked by and said "Put on a cloth sack at the very least, you're making me unseasonably warm..." biggrin.gif
