Seriously, when we "met" in 2012 Lopov, I think your record was somewhere between 40 to 80 hours, for Falador's game. I know 300 is just a number, but it is rather nice to have a few who have been around for awhile, and you have some history with them. I need to have a look at how long Cho's been around. He was my first Fallout character, who I rolled in summer of 2013.

Yes, in the past most of my characters would last between 50-80 hours. I'd rarely return to characters once I'd get bored of them. Blondie is an exception to this. Considering that I plan to include some more mods in her game in coming years, she's going to be around for a long time. I'm still not sure, who would be my 2nd longest-lasting character but it has to be someone that's no longer active, like Lucius, Falador, maybe even Haryon.

From those that are still alive and active, I think that either Ally "Gator" from FO3 or Souissi from Skyrim are the longest-lasting, though I'd need to check exact numbers to be sure.

In the end it's quality that matters, not quantity, I'd say.

Acadian
Wow, Lopov! I remember Blondie from way back. See, Blondes really do have more fun. 'Grats to her and you. tongue.gif
Lopov
Thanks, Acadian, glad you remember her. Yeah, I agree, blondes are special.

*Lopov looks left - in the direction of his blonde wife watching TV* whistling.gif
Lopov
Blondie, Derrick and Guts are still following clues from chests to find more chests. It all began with a message that Blondie's PipBoy picked up one day, and in it promises of great riches were said to be given to one that can find chests based on clues given by whoever placed those chests and wrote the clues. No map-markers exist for finding these chests, so one has to be really at home in the Mojave to know where to look. Fortunately, Blondie is more than familiar in the Mojave, and was for the time being able to immediately recognize places, based on clues. In the chest there there's always a note with clues on how to find the next chest, and a corresponding key.

Of course Blondie assumes that this whole story of great riches is a hoax, and that the final purpose of whoever is behind it all, is something else, but Derrick hopes that they'll find some gold in the end. According to current hints, the next chest is located in the Crescent Canyon, so that's where B, D & G are heading. Maybe they'll meet Sammy the ghoul there.

In other words, this mod was made for Lopov, who knows the Mojave well.

That's pretty neat how it seems like all of this might be a hoax. Sammy the Ghoul looks like he's ready to do some disco dancing. wacko.gif

Lopov
@Renee - indeed, the mod is meant for someone who knows the Mojave well.

I finished up the mod, BTW. I don't know if anyone here will ever try it out, but I'm going to include the story behind the chests in spoiler tags.

So in the end she didn't earn any gold, but she got some satisfaction. She doesn't need gold or caps anyway, she has plenty of them already. After the adventure was over, Blondie parted ways with Derrick and is now heading back to Novac together with the only companion that's always present at her side - Guts. I enjoyed my short trip to the Mojave but now it's time to move on.
Renee
Crazy! So that whole mod was a bunch of smoke and mirrors! It does sound like it kept Blondie busy for a short while, at least. How does that make you feel? And I guess Blondie might be rather pissed off, eh?

Linda Hand finally finished Come Fly With Me. Lol so everybody flew off into the sky, which surprised Linda (and me) because we thought there's no way those silly Buck Rogers-looking spaceships will get off the ground. They did though. And Linda got some added Reputation. bluewizardsmile.gif

She is Level 4 now. I added points into Sneak, Survival, Guns, and Speech. I chose the Educated perk for her. More skill points per level? OH heck yes.

Lopov
Nice that she lent a hand to those ghouls. I bet they're rockin' now in the Far Beyond.

Blondie expected that the treasure hunt was a hoax. She's seen plenty of such tricks in her career of a bounty hunter, so hardly anything surprises her anymore.
mirocu
As October is staring us in the face, plans to visit Point Lookout are in motion. Last year I was annoyingly underprepared for the hunting safari; no mines, very few nades, no minigun etc. This time I will be prepared accordingly.

Oh, yes. I will be prepared cool.gif
Renee

Oh, yes. I will be prepared cool.gif

Absolutely you will be. Don't forget to bring plenty of Junk Food, Potato Crisps, and Nuka Cola to wash it down with.

-------------------

Tuesday, 11.13.81, 12:06 AM -- Linda Hand arrives to her room in Novac, and reminds herself to check with Miss Crawford, the place's owner, in the morning. When does this 'busy season' usually start? Does she owe any caps for her stay so far?

Her room is freezing, and as she exchanges her leather armor for a dirty old dress, Linda can feel it. Time to turn that nuclear-powered AC down.

She takes a seat and has a beer. Beer is something of a new habit for her. Of all the liquor available in the room's fridge, for some reason having just that one beer after running around in the Mojave is what she really loves. Mmm... beer. Such a lovely way to relax.

Tomorrow is another day. Will it be another hot one? The days have been getting cooler, at least. Being a native of Oregon, she still wasn't quite used to Nevada's intense heat, but yesterday's high of just 75 felt lovely.*

------------------------

* I've been geeking out with the Old Farmer's Almanac website, using its data from 1981 to determine what the temps are in her game, in 2281. biggrin.gif So if it was 75 degrees in 1981 on this day, I like to think it's the same temp in 2281. And this determines what Linda will wear for the day. salute.gif Leather armor gets too warm, you see, so she only wears this at night.
mirocu
I have now installed myself at Rivet City. Temporary of course, and I will soon board the steamboat and travel to Point Lookout. And as promised; I am prepared. Nades, mines, Fat Man and the Vulcan minigun are all with me.

This year I will have fun biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

(No food though wink.gif )
mirocu
I have now landed at Point Lookout, aka Renee Country.

Roamed around Rivet City first as per yoush, visiting all major locations such as the church and the museum. After spending a night in my hotel room I then collected Gunny and we jumped over to the riverboat landing where I parked him and tasked him to guard the area.

Now I sit at top deck of the riverboat, overlooking the Lookout landing and boardwalk. Fun shallst begin next time biggrin.gif
mirocu
I have just arrived at the Coastal Grotto and I'm ready for this year's hunt. As I mentioned I'm well equipped this time, as opposed to last year when I only had what I have in the Wasteland proper.

This year I sport the Vulcan minigun (modded for double firing speed and damage), a long doublebarrel, a rocket launcher, a bunch of regular nades and a slew of regular mines. Next session will show if I brought enough toys wink.gif

Well, I was seriously overpowered this year. Of all the weapons I had I only used the mines and the Vulcan. I did also rearm the beartraps. The mines took care of most of them before they even was in sight, at least those who came from below as the whole walkway was strewn with explosives. This is also true with those who came from the cell and over the bridge. The modded minigun took care of the rest.
Something of note: One of the other hunters fell and died this year. But I resurrected him and he was soon back on his post. This conclude the Safari for 2019, well met next year!

Now I'm back out in the wild and I first made my way towards the Ritual site where a whole bunch of hicks usually reside, and I was prepared to use the Fat Man I brought along. To my disappointment there was no one there. Not a single one. Bah. So instead I went to the Detention center and killed some more ghouls and then it was off to the Trapper's shack where I now sit and wait in the bushes with my shotgun.
mirocu
Today I raided the Trapper's shack as well as other places, not many around to raid though. Followed the southern shore eastward and killed some smugglers at the campsite. Then sold as much as I could to Panada. After that I headed out again and revisited the Ritual Site and this time it was occupied. Not by many; just three Scrappers and one Bruiser. Fat Man took the brunt of them and the Vulcan did the rest. Last year there were a lot more there, one of whom carried up to 30-40 frag grenades! That was not the case now though, a few guns and some alcohol was all I found.

I did also pick up a few guns by the ambush bridge, one of them being a minigun. I left them there last year because I was over-encumbered but now I could pick them up. A present from me to me biggrin.gif

I now sit on top of the Dutchess Gambit, having just bought a return ticket and sold some stuff to the ferryman. Next session will see me return to the Capital Wasteland where I will head straight up to Megaton with Gunny and conclude this year's Fallout 3 run.
Renee
See, this is why Cho never got rich in this game, he never over-encumbers himself. Ha ha.

Can you post a picture of Mirocu, mirocu? I don't think I've ever seen Mirocu, mirocu.

----------------

So today was the day. I took the Dutchess Gambit back to the Capital Wasteland and met up with Gunny and together we ran up to Megaton, only stopping to fight the odd Raiders that came in our way. Oh, and a tripod robot!

Upon reaching the gates I sold some chems to Doc Hoff (not to Doc Lopov), ordered Gunny to guard the entrance and then I made my way inside.
I off-loaded the things I wanted to keep in my house, kept the rest and selected the guns I'll be starting with next season. This time I chose the Chinese pistol which also does fire damage (Oblivion...?) and Sydney's 10mm submachine gun. Plus the usual doublebarrel and Dart Gun of course.

After that I healed up using my home medical station where I also removed 550 rads. And now, after a good night's sleep, I sit in my chair upstairs with my helmet taken off, relaxing after this year's events.

-Well met in 2020! salute.gif

Interesting how you really put yourself into the game. Like with Lothran, you often say "he did this." With Mirocu, you're now saying "I did this."

That's just because my character in Fallout 3 has my (forum) name. I also haven't been able to seperate myself from my FO3 character which I did with Lothran where I eventually gave him his own name instead of my real name. Or perhaps it was he who seperated himself from me, wanting to be his own?

11.19.81, 4:51: Linda Hand left Novac the day before, then investigated HELIOS one, looking for her brother. The guard at HELIOS's entrance wanted to know why Linda wanted to go inside of HELIOS One. And Linda managed to use her Speech to persuade her way inside.

There was an actual option which included her brother, too!!! That really blew me away. blink.gif

And to continue getting blown away, Linda also met Veronica. Long story short: Veronica has a family in her bunker, but wants to go exploring the Mojave, and Linda agreed to this. So Linda has her first follower. Wowee I am really impressed. Look at all those options!

SubRosa
Awesome, Linda met Felicia Day!
Lopov
Veronica will turn out to be not just a valuable asset in combat, but also a very interesting character with a story behind it all.

2020

The season has started! Yes indeed; today I left my Megaton home and immediately went outside to collect Gunny and away we went!

Going towards Super Duper Market we witnessed a fight between a Talon and a Raider and as usual we came out the winners in the end. Then we went eastward just north of the city and we're currently making our way north towards the dairy farm and we plan to go to Old Olney from there.

Fun times! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Yup biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I like the guns I chose for this season's start; the Chinese gun that causes fire damage and Sydney's submachine gun. Although they are not much against Deathclaws I reckon we can deal with them. If anything I also have the dart gun and doublebarrel as usual smile.gif
Lopov
Is Sydney that chick that can be encountered during some adventure in the Mall? Is she still alive in 'rocu's game?

Answer to both questions: yes she is. She lives with the ghouls down in D.C smile.gif
Lopov
She could be your in-game girlfriend!

After breaking up with Lucy, I guess Sydney could fit the bill rollinglaugh.gif

Old Olney was a slam dunk. Lots of Deathclaws downed and that dart gun really works wonders with those guys. Together with the Chinese fire gun I never had to resort to automatic fire or the shotgun - they just fell.

Right now we've teleported down to Tenpenny to sell all the loot we've gathered. Two sessions and we're already at full capacity. Blimey. From there I reckon we'll take another well established route going on the western side of the map north bound.
Lopov
Maybe you'll come upon some Ayleid ruin location you haven't visited before.

mirocu
I like those pics. Do they have a filter? Looks different from my game.

----------------------

Keeps roaming as per standard. Sold stuff at Tenpenny's and then like predicted we've been running up the western part of the map.
Lopov
The difference you're seeing, is probably due to Enhanced Weather.

Yes, we have both gotten rid of the green tint the vanilla game puts over everything.

I also took a little jaunt into the Capital Wasteland this past week. (also by starting into a previously being played game). It started out in the Citadel where they were waiting for Misa to give the go ahead to launch Liberty Prime.
After she came out of the coma she ran through Broken Steel. It was so great to be back in the DC area that I am very tempted to start a new game and run the whole thing from start to finish again. I took some screenshots; will have to get back on my laptop and upload them.

Awesome, glad to hear this! Please keep us posted.

I keep slacking on writing up a full Cho Zen Wan update, but Broken Steel got finished long ago in his game, maybe last summer. I wrote up a bunch of repeatable quests for him to do, adding respawning enemies into Super Duper Mart, Alexandra Arms, and the area outside of Farragut Metro East, where all those bandits live 24/7. That area was a particularly difficult one to deal with when I was a noob, long ago in 2013.

mirocu
Visited the Sniper Shack last session. That area is quite fun with many opportunities to snipe off mutants. I might continue up the NW part over the car bridge. Quite much fun hunting up there too!
Lopov
I vaguely remember where the sniper shack, but I've been there a long time ago for the last time. Make sure to pick off some slavers while in that area.
mirocu
Touring the wasteland, Gunny and I have now begun our sub-tour up the D.C area. We teleport directly to L. Enfant Plaza and from there we teleport to the Ranger Compund and the Washington Monument where we're currently at. Then we make a couple more stops northbound until we exit the area by the recruitment center at the very edge.

Fascinating story, Renee! biggrin.gif wink.gif

As for me I'm yet again over-encumbered, and so is Gunny. So now we have to painstakingly WALK across the Wasteland until we meet a merchant or Gunny is destroyed at which point I can load him up beyond his normal capability.

We're currently at Fairfax, btw.
