So nice to see pix from Lothie's game! It's snooowwwwing! tongue.gif

I know, right?! coolgrin.gif

mALX & Lopov: exactly. I was trying to go for a Middle Ages-looking face with Joanie. Thanks for the compliment Lopov but I'm still lowering her eyebrows once she's moved over to PC! biggrin.gif She looks too "startled."

It's weird to think I've been with since 2013, on and off. viking.gif

macole
@Renee Are you planning to use OCOv2 on your PC version? OCOv2 does change things a bit. For example using the same save file my character has a much harder look under OCOv2 than he does in the 2010 original.

Oblivion 2010 Natural faces original

Oblivion 2017 OCOv2 version

I wanted to duplicate the look I created for him in Morrowind. Couldn't quite do it.
Renee
I'm not sure what that is? Oblivion Character Overhaul? Probably not. I can definitely see the difference though. Jandaga looks better defined for sure.

If I could add one more facial-type mod for Oblivion, it'd be something which adds facial hair to men. That's the main reason I've barely made any men for Oblivion... can't do beards or sideburns or goatees, etc. In Skyrim or Morrowind I've got a near 50/50 ratio males to females. In Oblivion I've rolled roughly 20 females, but only 3 or 4 males.

I did add a Beards mod awhile back, but all it did was made 5 O'clock shadows more prominent. So if you know of anything more extensive, let me know.
macole
Yes, OCOv2 would be Oblivion Character Overhaul version 2. It really does make a difference in the NPC faces. I’ve been using it in my current adventure, so you may have an idea of what it looks like. The only complaints I have with it are with Nushka’s interpretation of the Orcs and the Khajiit.
The Orcs I feel are too pretty (I have to tell myself that these are Orsimer NOT Orcs) and the skin color ranges too much into dark browns.
OCOv2 tries to mimic a long hair coat which ends up looking like someone pulled a garden rake through mud and left it to dry. I’d rather have a smooth short hair coat. Got used to it after awhile but still…

Most beard mods are 10-years old. Here is of the latest attempt for beards and a patch that some may find useful. I don’t use beards (you could almost count the whiskers on my face and each one a different color) so I can’t vouch for them. Since they don’t say so directly from description and comments I’ve read I’m assuming they can used with or without OCOv2 but they do require Blockhead.

Beards in Tamriel https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47071
NPC Hair Matches Beard https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47421
Both would require;
Blockhead https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/43752
Renee
Nice! Finally a beard mod which looks like it works! I wonder how long that's been around. Probably for years, like you say, but I just haven't been checking the Nexus for it.

See, that's what often gets me though. In order to install Beards in Tamriel I'd have to install Blockhead. How will that affect the rest of my gameworld? My modded Oblivion games are quite stable, mostly because I haven't added much to them for years. I'm rather conservative. I have most everything I want. So maybe if I really get an urge to create a male in Cyrodiil I'll try those out. wub.gif

Thanks!
ghastley
I looked at making a beard mod a long time ago, and the problem is that chins move. You need to make the beard conform while the character is talking, and that is not an easy job. It's the same reason there aren't many replacement head meshes (I recall only one). You have to make not only a head, but all the expression and phoneme morphs for it.

So if this really does do beards, I'm impressed!
Renee
Goodness, what were his parents up to? Those poor maidens.

I love his shorts! biggrin.gif That's a first for me.
Acadian
Thaldorn Manor looks extremely appropriate - overgrown, cobwebs, mysterious doors, chains. . . .

Now, that mysterious door he is never supposed to open. I'm sure he never will. Nope. Not a chance. . . .
SubRosa
Thaldorn Manor looks like the kind of place the Scooby Gang would visit. I wonder if there are any ghosts! They would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for that meddling Rieltar...

When do we go through that door! biggrin.gif
Renee
Nice, very nice. None of mine have ever been to Shivering Isles though one of them was planning to go there. It really does look like some other game.
Acadian
Great shots, mirocu! So nice to see some current pix of the old warlock. tongue.gif
mirocu
Glad you guys enjoyed the pics. Had to take some when Lothran finally visited the Isles again biggrin.gif
Lopov
Nice new pics, mirocu. I don't remember seeing Lothran with a hood before.

Is he already leaving the Isles behind?
macole
Great pictures, mirocu. The Isles are different that's for sure. I never spent much time there until I started using Integration -The Stranded Light. That gave me a reason to step through the strange portal door. I'll have to go back soon. Thanks for reminding me.

It grants him extra Magicka, something he deemed a good thing when visiting the Isles. He always has it with him but seldom wears it smile.gif

Oh, no. No no no no no no no n - Sorry. Guess I have been affected by someone in Mania... biggrin.gif

Thanks for checking them out! Yes, the Isles are a great place with many fine views to gawk at smile.gif

Some random pictures of my skooma-dealing dark elf today.

His arrogance .... err.. excellence

Lust blossoms. -- (He met this Dunmer bandit and my gosh she is pretty. Snaaty couldn't resist asking her to join him, for a lovely dinner at Wawnet Inn. Whatever else they did, I don't want to know!)

Sheeza Hawty

Riding with Countess Caro -- He looks like a noble, but really he's a criminal. emot-ninja1.gif

Acadian, isn't there a mod which adds reins to horses? I think you had this one.

Acadian
Looks like Snatty's got that Dunmer's butterfly dancing!

Gosh, he does look like a noble with Alessia Caro as an accessory.

The wonderful modder AlienSlof did some fabulous Oblivion horse mods. Check here: http://www.slofslair.co.uk/mods/tagged/set...:oblivion/horse

I was able to take pieces of her mods in the CS and add/delete them to other horses for some nice custom setups for Superian.
SubRosa
The Countess is about to be struck by a smooth criminal.
mirocu
Nice pics, Renee. Always nice to see more Dunmer around biggrin.gif

Dinner at Wawnet Inn is definitely better than a stall in the Anvil Stables!
Lopov
Snaaty has never looked better!
Renee
Acadian, whoa thanks! See those mods aren't at Nexus. I would never have found that site.

macole, Lopov, SubRosa laugh.gif rollinglaugh.gif laugh.gif

mirocu, I do have more pics of him if you want to see more. smile.gif His game is mostly vanilla, too.

January is still hanging out in the Isles
Acadian
Mania certainly has some pretty skies!
mirocu
QUOTE(SubRosa @ Aug 14 2020, 07:09 AM) *

The beautiful skies of the Isles are still fresh in Lothran's mind. That said, he does prefer the regular sky in Cyrodiil.

Glad to know January is keeping an eye on the place from now on biggrin.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Khajiit can’t wait to see Dementia again! Maybe one day this one will get his mods settled. dry.gif
Kane
It's Oblivion time again! I only have scenic pictures to offer, though. Falorn's journey thus far has only been the trek from the sewers exit to Anvil.

Outside looking in
In the deep woods

I forget which Fort this is
Acadian
Good to see you back in Cyrodiil, Kane!
macole
Great shots of the deep woods. Makes one want to go out and play.
SubRosa
Oblivion is such a pretty game to look at.

I think that last pic was of Fort Magia? The one due east of the Imperial City, on the shores of Lake Rumare. There is some Shadowbanish Wine in its crypts.
Kane
I think it's Fort Empire of Nikel. Definitely not Magia - Falorn left the sewers and went the opposite way of that particular fort. I think I snapped that pic just before turning onto the road to Skingrad.

Hopefully I'll have more before too long. I'm eager to play, but a new baby sort of saps up gaming time. tongue.gif
Acadian
Snaaty's a handsome Dunmer.

Have gun will travel! tongue.gif
SubRosa
Snaat is a stylin' Rayag.

When he 'rented' that horse did he just take it? wink.gif

Uh oh, looks like Snaat is getting into some underworld turf wars already!

Looks like Jensine is not happy to see Snaat.

Uh oh, Snaat is gunning for his rivals.

Come and say hello to my little friend!

TheCheshireKhajiit
Lol I love that at the end where he blows the highwayman to Oblivion! laugh.gif

IPB Image
macole
Snaat has a fireball launcher.
Lopov
That's one good-looking skooma dealer!

Since he's living a dangerous life, having a proper weapon is essential, I guess!

He's got his very own gun! A blunderbuss even! It fits him, you know? It doesn't look out of place in Cyrodiil.

It shoots "fireballs", I see!

The Khajiit is in the air!

Take care of your BB, Snaat!
Renee
Acadian & others: Thanks for not ostracizing me from the Chorrol community! laugh.gif Truthfully, the first RPG table-game we played in high school had blunderbuss, arquebuss, crude grenades, and petards.

Khajiit: That is from Indiana Jones, right? Or is it some other adventure movie?

SubRosa: I am glad somebody picked up on Jensine's scrunchy face! mad.gif Yes, horses are rentable in my game. I figured out how to do this and added the procedure into Renee's Modding Thread. smile.gif If he merely stole horses his game would start to feel like Kahreem's! biggrin.gif And if the horse gets pwned, hey, at least he didn't spend a lot of money on it.

Khajiit: That is from Indiana Jones, right? Or is it some other adventure movie?

Yep, Raiders of the Lost Ark. Fun fact, Harrison Ford was very sick when he was filming that scene and originally he was supposed to use his whip to disarm the swordsman. Ford just couldn't get it to work right so he asked Spielberg if he could just shoot the guy. Spielberg apparently liked the idea so they shot the scene like that.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Khajiit has an Oblivion pic! It's basically just to show off his meager modding skills, lol.

Brenna arrives in Anvil after leaving Daggerfall.
SubRosa
Wow, that is impressive. Oh wait, I was looking at her face. The dress is nice too!

Anvil is always a nice place to visit. Maybe Brenna can get some painting lessons? biggrin.gif
Acadian
Very nice, Khajiit!
Renee
I agree. She's really pretty. You should see my new orc. She is definitely not pretty. biggrin.gif Not supposed to be.

Didn't know that about Harrison Ford and his gun. It's amazing the things we can learn these days.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Y’all are too nice! I think she did turn out pretty good considering what we have to work with in this game.

I suspect she’s going to head to the Mages Guild and get some burning her enemies lessons!

It’s pretty neat! I like little stories like that.

Also, Orcs are kinda cute, in their way! Skyrim and ESO Orcs actually are somewhat pretty.
Renee
Okay folks, you voted for her at the beginning of this summer! Let me now present...

Balztu Dahwalz

Here is the TU Alternate Start mod's tutorial area.

I chose the "Dangerous" and "Don't know where I am" options at the start of her game,

Here is where it put her

Frenzied

She is in a sewer, as we can see, but I don't know if I like this option so far. We can' find a way out! I might try starting her game again. Good thing I made plenty of saves!

macole
Brenna is a pretty one to be sure. You are right about what the tools Oblivion gives us to create faces. But, it can be done with patience and understanding as you have shown.

My little band of travelers was in Anvil recently recruiting workers for Sutch. Had they known Brenna was arriving from Daggerfall I’m sure they would have delayed their departure and offer to escort her around town until she got settled.
SubRosa
I tried that Alternate Start mod once. I actually prefer the vanilla start, even for characters who won't be doing in the main quest. I modded the game to put every variety of weapon and armor in there (a hammer, an axe, a greatsword, etc...). I saw it as a place where I could get to know new characters, and see what kind of weapons and gear they preferred.

Balztu is mean and green. I use Cute Orc Head replacer to remove the boar look from their heads, and make them more like Skyrim's orcs.
