Aw, who's hungry? Who would like some taffy? Even from a couple ancient undeads, those two kids would be wont to pass that offer up!

I love the Sneaking pic. And also "Spray".

That does it. You just inspired me to fire up Skyrim finally. I'll do this later today. viking.gif

Renee: I love the Headless Horseman. I have followed him at least once. He takes you all the way to Hamvir's Rest, where he disappears into the graveyard.

QUOTE

Serana is the best follower Bethesda ever made, so I like having her around. In spite of all the ice shards I keep digging out of my back... laugh.gif

Try getting into the habit of staying out of Serana's way. If you run straight for an enemy, for instance, try side-stepping once you're up there bashing into it. This way, Serana gets some clear shots into that enemy, and Persephone is now ice-shard free.

QUOTE
She has a lot of special dialogue for specific places you visit, which is really neat. Plus she interacts with the world more better than the regular followers. But mostly she has a wonderful voice (thanks to Laura Bailey), and is just a well done person. Being undead herself, Persephone feels more at ease with Serana than she can with any living person.

Yes, that totally makes sense. They're both undead, and in their own ways I'm sure they compliment each other, personality-wise, though this could become a power-play if it's not the right roleplay. I wiki'd Serana's voice-speaker awhile ago, and was surprised that her voice-actress has quite a resume.
SubRosa
Acadian: They probably did take their cues for Serana from the modding community. A lot of mods from one game wind up being regular features in later games. Like plants disappearing after you pick them.

Broken Oar was technically on P&S's path. They passed it on the way back to Castle Volkihar. But more importantly Sorine Jurard sent them there on one of the missions for her crossbow upgrades. She has an awful lot of those! ohmy.gif

I love Shadowgreen. Especially since Persephone has a Kyne's Peace spell, so she does not have to kill all the animals within.

Flagman might be Captain America Tamriel. wink.gif But I could be wrong. I can definitely see Persephone is definitely an Avenger.

Not needing to breathe makes it so much easier to get down into those shipwrecks. Especially that big one one between Dawnstar and Winterhold. Pilgrim's Trench I think it is called.

I forgot to mention before that Serana does not resurrect chickens in my game. I am using the Sneaky Serana mod, that has an option to turn off her reanimating. I also tweaked her a lot myself, and added some new spells to her arsenal. Right now she doesn't have any summoning or reanimating. But now that we have left the Soul Cairn, I am tempted to give her a Summon Boneman or Summon Wrathman spell as well. Either would be unique, so I would not mistake them for one of Persephone's pals, or regular undead monsters.

Renee: I am not sure if taking candy from strangers or undead is a good thing! laugh.gif

Play some Mycharonna for Halloween!

I do make a point not to charge straight at bad guys. Instead I move forward at an angle, so Serana can have a clear shot. But she still manages to magically plant her ice shards directly into my back...

Still, Serana and Persephone fit together so perfectly, because they are undead. They have a lot in common, starting with immortality. They are also eternal outsiders, forever separated from the rest of the world.

Laura Bailey has done a ton of work. I am sure a lot of that is because she is so good. But also because she mainly a voice actor, and doing voices does not take a long time. A VA can do their part for a game or even movie in just a few days. So they can do a lot of work in a short time. It is boring work. They just sit in a room and read off a sheet of paper with all their lines. One after another after another. A few tv and movie producers actually put all the voice actors together in the same studio to do their scenes together. That way they can play off one another, and feel like they are actually acting. The Cone Wars and Rebels do that.

Fabulous shots as P&S (aka the Dead Duo) tear up the Soul Cairn!

Taking Sides is such a grand capture due to the look on Persephone's face as mommy and daughter Sisters of Cold Harbour take care of some family squabbling.

And Durnie makes his entrance! As a dead dragon, I'm sure he'll fit right in and make a great occasional ally!
Winter Wolf
Awesome pics. SubRosa!

I really loved Chillin- That sit down scene just looked so neat.

I installed Skyrim Special on Friday night on Xbox One so I can now take some pics myself. Finally.

For us console users the game is really epic and I love all the graphic changes to the game. Lighting, fog, textures are all really neat. The only part that annoys me is that at sunset the whole sky turns pink instead of just the western sky. Perhaps the sun and planet system on Nirn is different to ours but I still find it annoying.

The ice caves look really neat and I love them a lot. Some other things like rugs on the floor seem a bit backwards from how my memory remembered them.

Those on PC have already run heaps of better mods and graphic cards so the difference will be small. Still, 64 bit and DX11 must be tempting indeed.

For me the game gets thumbs up. goodjob.gif

Great shots! The sky reminds me of Cyrodiil.

A sabre-cat isn't a match for Bear-Claw.

Otto looks tough, I like his blind eye. tongue.gif
Acadian
Wolf, your game looks great! Otto looks like quite a tough Nord!
SubRosa
Acadian: Persephone spends a lot of time taking sides with Serana against other people: her father, Isran, and her mother. I guess you could say Serana is a very polarizing person! laugh.gif Seriously though, one thing I like about the Dawnguard main quest is that its heart is a very dysfunctional family squabble. It makes it all a little more relateable.

Unfortunately summoning Durnevhiir is a shout, and since Persephone is not the Dragonborn, she cannot do that. But I did find a mod that adds a spell to summon him, and still advances the vanilla quest that summoning him is part of. So far it is working good.

Winter Wolf: Persephone never passes up a chance to sit down and catch up with old, dead friends.

Otto makes me think of Otto Blendker, from Michael Moorcock's books. Not because of how he looks. Just the name! laugh.gif

Skyrim SE reminds me a lot of Fallout 4, with the slight blue tinge, and bright look to everything. It is probably the same game engine after all.

Renee
Wow, love all your shots, as usual. I still haven't gotten back into Skyrim yet, but I will.

You should write up some sort of story between Pers and Serana! Just a quickie. Looking at those two in such close quarters, there must be some dialog going on... redwizardsmile.gif

QUOTE

This must be why some lines are delivered with such a lack of emphasis, while others have too much!

Acadian
Two of a kind – indeed!

Yay, Durnie over Skyrim!

Bad day to be a Forsworn. They think they are frightening – they just learned what frightening really is.

Wow, great gut shot in Markarth!

Downfall. . . the bigger they are. . . .

Movie promo – it surely does!
Grits
Jugula! Nice. I like the new priestess outfits.

SubRosa, that vampire detector lens is a neat discovery. Still finding new things! I love Sofie's snow fox.

Great catch with the horseman! Serana and Persephone look good together in the pictures. Like they are good partners. Good thing Persephone is not bothered by her errant Frost spells. ohmy.gif

Aww, I love the picture of Persephomom cooking for her girls! Swimming is a beautiful shot, but Shadowgreen really takes the prize. Absolutely gorgeous.

It would be neat for Serana to summon the Soul Cairn beings rather than leaving ash piles everywhere. I've always thought that the Soul Cairn summonings were sort of friendly helpers, while raising the enemies you just killed seems, well, kind of mean. laugh.gif

Fantastic shots of the Soul Cairn adventure! I especially like the ones with mom and with Durnehviir. Another ancient immortal pal!

Whoa, matching outfits! Serana looks so feminine, I always like that. That is the most spectacular takedown of Weylin that I have seen. Watch out for those undead reflexes! Movie promo is very dramatic. I see a Caption This contender.

Winter Wolf, I am also enjoying the new atmosphere that SSE brings to the consoles. Otto looks great, and I love his name! He caught some nice sunny weather. I love how the colors pop when the sun is out.

Jerric version SSE_PS4_01 (just kidding) had a meeting with Jarl Balgruuf. I took a picture while they were talking.
SubRosa
It's Chris Hemsworth!
Acadian
Grits, that picture of Jerric is a great example of why he so readily speeds up Buffy's heart! happy.gif
ghastley
This should look familiar, but not quite.

Greenspring Stronghold.

I just posted the SE version to the Nexus, and I'm trying to figure out what needs to be done for Xbox1. Bethesda have different rules for main images, screenshots, etc. than Nexus does.

Put the XB1 version on Bethesda.net. I'll see how that one goes before doing any others.
SubRosa
Renee: I have actually been working on a story idea with Aela, Ungarion, and Persephone, plus a few other new characters.

Grits: Persephone has frost resistance thanks to being undead, so Serana's Ice Spikes are just an annoyance.

I tried out giving Serana a Wrathman to summon. The second time she used it Persephone must have accidentally grazed the Wrathman with her Absorb Health. That turned him against Persephone, and Serana against the Wrathman. I modded it out of Serana's spell list after that!

After seeing the Soul Cairn, I think any one of its denizens would be glad to be summoned out of there and onto Nirn, even if just for a few minutes. It would be doing them a favor.

ghastley: Greenspring looks very colorful!

Acadian: I am liking calling Durn in for close air support while outdoors. But his drab green skin could use some improvement. I think I am going to look for some retextures.

Wow, I had forgotten just how awesome Persephone looks. The pale skin, the ponytail, the armor- all very cool.

The 3 Stooges is seriously scary. Quick. Run.

Fallen is a great shot. I wish I could hear the sound effect while that big boy went down.

I have played Skyrim on and off for 5 years (more off than on laugh.gif ) and have never seen Blackreach or played Dawnguard. Both are on my must do list for this year.
Acadian
As soon as I saw P&S locate Arvak’s skull in one or your recent sets I had visions of Ghost Riders. goodjob.gif

Woot! So cool to see Persephone using a bound bow. Did you know I’m rather fond of conjured bows? wink.gif

Mazultoft! Darryl’s brother Ulfar looks great dueling with the steampunk metalhead. I hope after that centurian fell, the girls picked up Grimsever for dear Mjoll (if they hadn’t already). Luvs that dungeon! Plenty of wide open space for a sneaky archer.

Great to see Durnie in action again.

Ancestor Glade is such a pretty place!

Persephone’s new armor looks good!
Grits
How funny to see that bandit fly past behind Persephone!

Persephone looks grim and determined in her Unforgiven tribute. *shiver*

New hobby, yay! Bring on the bound bow kill-cams! biggrin.gif

Beautiful Blackreach. I love how you composed that picture.

Blue bug swatter, woo! That's what I'm talkin about!! Great shot!

Phantom and Riders are just great. I love the immortal crew that Persephone has gathered around her.

I like the Dragon Carved armor on her a lot. The color is just right, and it has a greater level of detail than her current set, which suits her role as the leader of her undead team. I wonder how Dragon Carved would look with her current boots and gauntlets?
Grits
Wow, it really does! I like how the plainer leg pieces draw attention to the detail in the Dragon Carved chest piece. And Persephone's cape works beautifully with the DC pauldrons.
Winter Wolf
Thanks Lopov, Acadian, SubRosa, Grits.

I am now running the True Storms mod which makes the rain, snow and thunder sound effects really neat. As SubRosa noted the blue sky days are very similar to Fallout 4, as the engine for both games are now the same. Unlike Fallout (which does not even have snow) this game has much better clouds and sunsets than vanilla Fallout. That game only shines with mods unfortunately.

Gosh, beautiful landscapes, Winter Wolf!

Winter Wonderland is my favorite. I love how the new snow looks, and the way the light interacts with the mist and trees. That must have been a lovely walk in the woods. happy.gif
Acadian
Wolf, so nice to see you playing Skyrim! It looks beautiful (and cold!) there!
Renee
SubRosa: Excellent I wanna read something about Persephone. And great pics. I love the Three Stooges one and the one in which she's got a "new hobby". laugh.gif

Winter Wolf: Interesting that SKSE does seem to have different draw-distance than the base game, even on PC. I can tell background has more detail, yet it's also 'softened', and not as 'harsh'.

I've been messing around trying to get my Skyrim PC game running these last couple nights, but it's been headache after headache. First Wrye Bash would CTD (solved .... I had LOOT set for Fallout 3 instead of SKyrim). Then my game would CTD on startup. I solved this too, by disabling almost all my mods and rebuilding from scratch. But NOW my game CTD's when saving. I feel confident I can solve this just by Googling like mad.

What boggles me though is that the MCM menus aren't working AT ALL. They don't even show up. Any advice here I'd certainly welcome (yeah, I know....)

ghastley
MCM menus require SkyUI, which in turn requires SKSE. They're still working on that, and it will never be allowed on Xbox, so mod-makers are looking for alternatives.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a stand-alone MCM equivalent at some time. Fortunately none of my mods needed it, so most will port up.
Renee
Yup, I got both Sky UI and SKSE working in my game, that's what's so perplexing. They're both installed & working. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Sky UI through Wrye Bash, just to make sure. I haven't tried this with SKSE though.

Last May I installed a mod called Better Vampires and it screwed up a few things, I remember that much. It seems to have knocked a few things out of place (from other mod) hence this is why I had to re-add all the mods I've been using from scratch.

Sorry off-topic. I was hoping to have a few pix posted by now. indifferent.gif

The sky definitely looks much more blue than 'normal' Skyrim. Some of those places look brand new. But what I am noticing a lot is a fine haze over everything, which I suspect is from fog kicking in at a really close near distance. That would drive me crazy if I were playing it all the time. There is a mod that removes it for the regular game, and the difference after you turn it on is incredible. Unfortunately for me it is one of those things like noticing that the person you are talking to has a pimple on their nose. Once you see it, you cannot un-see it. sad.gif
Grits
Yep, that haze lets them show off their new light effects. Skyrim just got very smoky/humid. laugh.gif It is occasionally crystal clear outside, but with the DoF slider set all the way left in my game, then some distance imperfections (PS4) start to show. Thankfully our PC games can be modded to just how we like them.

Jerric walked around the woods this morning. Again. It was pretty. Again. biggrin.gif

Acadian and SubRosa, thank you for your comments on the latest Jerric! I forgot his scars this time. He may be the first to go to the Face Sculptor to get scars put back on! tongue.gif
Acadian
What a beautiful misty shot of Jerric and Darnand in the forest! Just lovely!

And, oh wow - new screenshot of the month. Barechested Jerric doing what Jerric does. Buffy hopes someday to find him on PC NA server. She has nearly a whole warehouse of fishing bait on ice stored up for him! happy.gif

Jerric walked around the woods this morning. Again. It was pretty. Again. biggrin.gif
Pretty indeed. Love the ruined tower in the background and sun rays making their way between trees.

Nice shot of the month but if it was barechested Lildereth... cool.gif
Grits
D'aww, thanks Acadian! wub.gif The thought of Buffy keeping bait on ice for him warms Jerric's heart. biggrin.gif I'm sure he will make his way to the PC NA server some day. He would be there already if it was possible. The requirements aren't steep, just too much to ask of this poor old laptop.

Jerric's and my adjustment back and forth between Skyrim and ESO is not without hiccups. Some of the controls are flipped, so he sometimes stands like a lump with his menu open when he means to rage forth with frost and blade. Also first thing out of Helgen on this SSE journey, he stood on the Riverwood dock still in his second-hand Legion armor trying to figure out how to drop a line in that water. laugh.gif

Lopov, good spot on that tower. They are very near the Where Am I picture. Lildereth has migrated to the Gold Coast for the winter, so she is wearing an outfit almost exactly like that one! Only a little less chest is bare, lol.
Winter Wolf
SubRosa- Yes, all of the effects. haze, mist, fog kick in much earlier than the last game. If you dislike it then certainly stay away from the True Storms mod. I was walking near Redbelly Mine yesterday and the whole mist effect kicked it- I thought it was a creature from Stephen King 'The Mist'. It was so over the top. laugh.gif

And with god-rays and new lighting/shadow at the same time there is a whole lot going on.

Grits- LOvE the new pic! The mist through the trees looks sweet. Good pick up by Lopov to spot the distant tower. I didn't see that the first time. It almost looks like the two guys are having a disagreement- one standing off slightly while the other explains his point of view. Lol.

And don't tease Buffy with the shirt-off pic. You know how she gets about water and spontaneous undressing.... laugh.gif
ghastley
Fired up Special Edition on the triple monitors. It's unplayable that way, as the majority of the UI scales off the top and bottom, until Flawless Widescreen adds support.

But it does do the wide open tundra well.
SubRosa
Winter Wolf: Wow, you really need to explore Blackreach! It is one of the neatest areas in Skyrim. My guess is you never did the main quest, as it is sort of part of that. You can get there without doing the main quest, but you have to do the Septimus Signus/Hermaus Mora quest to get into Blackreach. The main quest also forces you to do that quest, because there is a main quest item within Blackreach.

Acadian: Arvak is my favorite horse in the Elder Scrolls games. Because you can summon him up when you want him, and he disappears when you don't need him.

Persephone found a Bound Bow spell tome in some random loot. So she decided to use it to get the spell and start using it for long distance sniping. So far it is has come in handy. But without any perks in the archery skill, it is still mostly something to play with.

P&S did pick up Grimsever while they were at Mizzenmast. I was not expecting it to be there, as Persephone had not talked to Mjoll about recovering it. I thought it would only spawn there if you started Mjoll's quest.

Grits: That flying bandit was an interesting series of events. Persephone got a killcam for killing him, and in the middle of the killcam sequence Serana blasted the same bandit with a lightning bolt (that you see in the pic), which also sent him flying about 30 feet away!

The moment I saw her face in that killcam, I thought of the ending of Unforgiven. It helps that Persephone was literally going on a killing spree at the time.

Team Persephone has come together really well this time around, with Serana, Ulfar, Sigrun, Arvak, and now Durnie.

The Dragon Carved is working so far. I originally tried it with the plate gauntlets and boots. But I got a view from a lower angle, and it made her legs look kind of spindly. So I switched over to all Dragon Carved pieces.

Renee: I have thought about writing Persephone, but she is a difficult character to portray in print. She would work fine in a movie, as the strong, silent type. But in print, she is so taciturn and simply cold that it would be difficult to really portray her. I think I would have to write her from the point of view of another character, like a sidekick. That had me thinking of creating something like perhaps an intelligent magic sword, that might make fun of her and say all the things that she refuses to. Or maybe a ghost that decided to tag along with her. Or even a mortal child whom she adopted. But none of it ever came together. If she does make an appearance in the story I have in mind, it will be written from Aela's pov.

Renee
Grits: Jerric looks amazing. He's like Kurt Cobain's cousin, or something.

SR: That would be fine actually, if you told some stories (even one or two) through somebody else's eyes. Persephone's gotta be an interesting one to be around.

Wow, look at those moths. blink.gif Serana looks positively hot in that first picture of her too. She looks like an actual hot goth lady.

I love "Reverse Grip". I can see what you mean too, I think. I look at Persephone's eyes in that pic. How can a human like us even discern what's really going on behind those eyes?

> >>>>>>

I finally got my Skyrim game running again. Somehow, half the .pex and .psc files which are part of SKSE were simply *not* there in the Data file anymore. Which boggles me. Where did they go? It's not like they got overwritten by anything else. blink.gif I also had some additional problems with CTDs, and wound up totally re-installing almost all my mods again through Wrye Bash, just to be doubly-sure that nothing else will go wrong.

And nothing else has gone wrong. So finally here we go. Nassqa is back.

Nassqa doesn't do very much. He's a miner, with literally no ambition other than to mine ores and sell them. In a way, this makes him the perfect character for me to return to, after several months of not playing TES: V. And after reading ghastley's Kothet story (which has some mining in it) I got particularly inspired to return to my Akavir.

Occasionally Nassqa must run though. He hunts occasionally, but never engages in fights. In this case, one of the bandits in Embarshard Mine caught him!
SubRosa
Nassqua! I remember him. He actually looks asian too. I cannot get a truly asian-looking female character in Skyrim.
Acadian
Ghastley – That is indeed a fabulous panorama of the tundra!

SubRosa - Those ancestor moths know one’s true character and I’m not surprised they deemed Persephone to their liking.

The long and forced closeness with Serana through Forgotten Vale forges either love or hate toward the Daughter of Cold Harbour I reckon. Though a bit stormy at times, Buffy and Serana emerged as close friends. I bet P&S will emerge the same – a friendship forged in ice and the blood of Falmer.

In the dark is a magnificent shot of P&S!

I love the Loosed shot – glowing bow and glowing eyes!

Renee – Oh I remember Nassqa the miner. SubRosa is right about what a nice job you did incorporating Asian features into his face. How nice to see him back!
Winter Wolf
I have just realized that I forgot to say thanks on my last post to Renee embarrased.gif - sorry about that.

Nassqa looks like he has had a really hard life down in those mines. Still, it does help to keep the body lean. It is a very interesting role play that you have going on there. smile.gif

mALX- I am really happy that you like the look of Skyrim SE. smile.gif For console gamers it is clearly the best game that I have ever played. The 2011 Skyrim was a horrible game on console that made me want to throw it over the back fence. With mods this one is simply sublime. I really like the god-rays, lighting etc but it might not be to everyone tastes.

You are right about it feeling roomier. Skyrim always had good world art but with the new engine they are showing it off like never before.

SubRosa- You are 100% correct. As a result of me throwing Skyrim over the back fence on many occasions I never got to see either the MQ, Blackreach, Serena and Dawnguard or much of Dragonborn. I have only done a little of each. I feel like I have gone 5 years back in time and the game has just come out with SE.

Darkfall passage and the glowing mushrooms looks so epic. Although when I think of the dark I think of Falmer.

Loosed was a great pic. Those eyes!!

My favorite one though- Overlook. The ice, the two characters, so neat. smile.gif

Renee: I guess Persephone has been dead long enough to start attracting insects! laugh.gif

Serana is a hot goth lady, who unlike other goth girls really is a vampire!

Acadian: The only character of mine who had a problem with Serana was Revansch. But that was because Revansch had been tortured and killed by vampires and then rose from the dead to take vengeance upon them. That does not work at all with the Dawnguard questline. Since then I have approached it with characters who possess less vitriol for vampires. Thanks to that, they have all gotten along with Serana just fine. Persephone has the strongest bond with her by far, thanks to also being undead. Serana is like a sister, just like Sigrun.

Winter Wolf: There were plenty of Falmer to fight through before getting to Darkfall Passage, and plenty more inside the Forgotten Vale.

Persephone's glowing silver eyes were added in her current incarnation. In fact, finding them was one of my inspirations to pick up the character again.

Wow, it was Darth Vader in that last pic!

I have no idea what all these pics are (Dawnguard or MQ I presume!) but they look sensational. smile.gif

I see that I have a lot of catching up to do on Skyrim DLC. Lol. Everything looks fantastic though. The ice passages are lovely and the host of undead, both npc and pc are rocking the show.

The Army of the Dead was my favorite. Great shot. Goth, Undead women are hawt!

Really enjoying the Special Edition. Add in the fact that my PC is finally built, and it's like a brand new Skyrim!

SubRosa -

So much ice and cold! Nice that neither P nor S require a toe ring of resist frost.

Deadwalkers is such a beautiful shot of Red Eyes and Blue Eyes. happy.gif

And. . . Army of the Dead is a fabulous shot of Red Eyes and Silver Eyes.

Love that moment when Serana picks up VampGeek by the throat to choke him out! Makes ya just wanna cheer! biggrin.gif

Cain –

I’m so glad you’re enjoying Skyrim 2.0.

Your game certainly looks beautiful!
SubRosa
Cain: Wow the skies are so blue, especially in that first pic. The colors just pop out of the screen.

Nassqa is back

He really has a face that fits his profession - mining. I mean, he couldn't be an Arch-Mage with this kind of gaze and I don't mean this in a bad way. bigsmile.gif
Renee
Love all the new shots! Coool to see you getting into it, Cain. What do you mean "competition character" though?

It's going to be a fun Skyrim Season.

Nassqua! I remember him. He actually looks asian too. I cannot get a truly asian-looking female character in Skyrim.

Yes you can. Just use the Akavir mod I found a couple years ago. kvleft.gif Actually ... I can't find it on Nexus right now. Maybe I can share it with you somehow.

I tried using one of those Akavir mods, and it didn't give me an asian-looking character. I even tried a preset, and it didn't look anything like the pictures on the Nexus...
Renee
No worry, I will totally hook you up, hon. The mod I use adds an entirely new race (Akaviri) but like I said, I don't know what its name is. I'll dig it up later when I'm gaming on PC.

This mod requires Apachi Hair, which I believe you already have.

Cain: I've been meaning to check out Haven. smile.gif Looks pretty cozy over there.
SubRosa
I do have Apachii Hair, so that is no problem.
