Phon, great shots that bring back some memories. We quite enjoyed the Dragonguard DLC. Need to feed that poor horse! tongue.gif

Some eye-opening pics! Bring the marshmellows for that Dragon Slayer.

It's a great horse for sure.
I really like the Dragon Slayer one, I had to go through a couple of dragons to get the right shot...
Renee
That first Lopov shot is great! Who is this character? Oh is this Jenassa? Jeez, she looks nothing like the quiet NPC who sits in that Whiterun tavern.

Is that a wyvern? I seem to remember Beyond Reach has wyvern, or some other variation of dragon.

Nice, she's got a crossbow. emot-ninja1.gif Don't cross paths with the Shadow at your back. ph34r.gif

Cool, I am glad you posted some pictures first. I'll post some this weekend too. You've broken the ice, so to speak. wink.gif

SubRosa
I do not feel very welcome in High Rock.

Wayward Husk is creepy.
Acadian
Lopov, those are some very neat screens that cover quite a bit of ground. Your game looks great!
Lopov
@Renee - the green-skinned man is called the Custodian and is one of the high-ranking members of the Witchmen, one of the major enemyfactions in the Kingdom of Evermore / Eastern High Rock. He is the first enemy that you encounter upon arriving and the meeting is very memorable. Witchmen usually attack in groups, their weapons are coated in poison and they use mostly freezing magic.

The flying creature is a gryphon, the supposed guardian of the Kingdom of Evermore. Over the course of the story, however, one learns that the gryphon's alignment shifted because he got tainted due to vile acts being committed in the Kingdom, so he's far from being a guardian, in fact he's allied with demonic forces that orchestrate events in the Kingdom. Close to the end of the questline one needs to slay it.

"My" Jenassa is also quiet but if you mean that she looks different appearance-wise, it's because I use a mod Total Character Makeover. Otherwise, the only thing that I edited, is her warpaint. When fighting against wild forces, she prefers to look wild as well.

@SubRosa - the mod author made sure that you don't feel welcome in High Rock during the course of the entire questline. If one plays as an Orc, for instance, the main questline as such can't be completed, there's instead an alternate questline, where you join the Sons of Orsinium and participate in an attack on the Kingdom. Because Orcs are in all settlements except in the very first one, attacked on sight.

Wayward Husk is "one half" of the corrupted soul of the Prince of Evermore, the other half is called Wayward Ego and is evil, whereas Wayward Husk is supposed to represent his good part. Or something like that. The story of Beyond Reach is very complicated to understand and there are some areas where not even I'm sure that I understood everything correctly. There's also Wayward Brother, who is supposed to be the actual brother of the Prince whom he sacrificed to reach demonic powers. We'll meet the brother shortly.

@Acadian - thank you, Acadian! This time I'm mostly focusing on taking screenshots that capture the feel of the land instead of telling an actual story or posting dozen of shots from one battle, for instance.

Three heroes lie beneath

Eternal smile

Portrait of Belize, the long dead wife of the Lord of Arnima

Restless Belize, seeking eternal rest, can not find it

Public tortures of Orcs, especially of their women, are a most popular free time activity in Arnima

...so she sends her soul to Malacath

Jenassa and Vigilance

The summit of the Lord

Mortifayne, the Lord of Arnima

Reamonn, the Missionary from Cyrodiil

Death in the Reach

The event of the Orc being tortured out of fun from the residents of Arnima, can conclude in five ways. The first one is to simply ignore it, the second one is to ask the skinner if one can join and then the player can torture her as well. The third one is to try to convince the skinner to let her go, but one needs very high Speech skill to succeed. The fourth one is to attack her torturers but that causes an entire town to turn hostile and fails some main quests. Obviously, Jenassa decided for the fifth way - she "freed" the captive by killing her, sparing her of further torture. She got some rude and threatening words from the skinner and from the Lord's guards. Now whether this was the best possible solution, it's hard to say, but to Jenassa it felt the most appropriate.

Acadian
Wow, this set of shots really highlights how modded your game is. The 'feel' is Skyrim but many of the specifics are unfamiliar. I do recall that Jenassa was Buffy's fave of the vanilla companions.
Renee
Yes, Belize's portrait is pretty. You are right; the mod author(s) were definitely better at the artistic side, because as you say the quests are a mess. Wow, look at that manor in Summit of the Lord.

But yeesh, public torture. indifferent.gif I'll definitely pass on Beyond Reach!

Jenassa looks like Jenassa today. Just more war paint.

Jenassa was the first person one of my early characters hired. She's so awesome. ph34r.gif

SubRosa
Beyond the Reach sounds like a mod I definitely do not want to play. Too grim for my tastes.

Eternal smile is quite a grin! ohmy.gif

Public torture of orcs. These people are pretty vile.
Renee
Time to flood the Screenshots thread all the sudden with my own toon's escapades. tongue.gif Kidding. The pics below depict Sir Davor Vyvoor in action. I created a bounties mod last year which is repeatable, as long as the "boss" of some locations has respawned (and is therefore re-inhabiting some location). As we can see below, Vyvoor first gets a writ from the Questing Agent of Whiterun, before heading off to take care of the Captain of White River Watch. viking.gif

Questing Agent of Whiterun

Err, Silent Moons Camp

The Writ

Oops. Silent Moons Camp. Although below there are pics for White River Watch.

Sir Vyvoor faces the Captain

At this point, both Vyvoor and the WRW boss were standing on the very precipice of that cliff which overlooks the valley below. indifferent.gif One wrong step, and somebody would fall. Would this somebody by Vyvoor, though?

"I'll have your head on a pike!"

FUS!!!

Free falling...

.......!

A true Nord keeps his weapon, even as he heads to Sovngarde!

THUD -- (the rest of Vyvoor's party are there having dinner as the boss fell right beside them!)

Kw3$t Upd4t3

viking.gif
Lopov
This set of screenies made me laugh! laugh.gif Not only does he get Fus-ed from the cliff, you captured his flight down, only to land close to Vyvoor's team. Thank the Divines that he didn't land on someone's head. But you're right, he really hold his weapon all the time. What a pwnage!
SubRosa
More toon escapades! I can't wait to see what Sir Vay has surveyed since we last had an update on his adventures.

Questing Steward of Whiterun kind of looks like Ahnold Swarzenneger.

Shouting people off of cliffs is what Unrelenting Force is all about! You could do it in Assassin's Creed Odyssey too, with the Sparta Kick ability.

I love that he fell right next to Sir V's bros!

Pwn'ed 'em, and now time to load up on carbs for the next adventure! laugh.gif

Acadian
Oh, I remember that boss - just you step outside the exit for that dungeon and the area looks out over Whiterun. Good fight. Nice delivery of the body - so Vyvoor's posse can loot the corpse for him. tongue.gif
macole
Great timing on the Head On A Pike shot.
Lopov
@Acadian - the entire questline takes place outside of Skyrim, so there are some similarities at times but overall the mod author did a good job by creating a unique feel of High Rock.

@Renee - content-wise quests aren't a mess but in my first playthrough with Souissi 4 years ago I was plagued by bugs and glitches. This time, however, the mod is bug-free, I only had one CTD, apart from that everything works normally and quest stages trigger properly.

@SubRosa - all hard-to-swallow content can be turned off upon starting the mod, the player has an option to censor such events like public tortures. But you're right, people of Arnima are very vile indeed.

Aww, poor Vigilance. kvright.gif

Some creepy foes – like the tendrils and wayward brother.

Beyond Reach – I love shots with both moons in them.

Waterfall – Water makes her clothes fall off. . . . wink.gif
SubRosa
Those tendrils are creepy AF.

Shadow is a great pic!

Wayward Brother is also creepy AF.
Lopov
@Acadian - despite using AFT and setting that followers can't permanently die, it apparently doesn't function always. As Vigilance got swarmed by Witchmen that attacked him with ice magic, he simply died. I experienced this before with other my characters, I think it has something to do with spells / weapons that deal damage over time - such attacks can kill our followers regardless of the settings.

@SubRosa - Beyond Reach is creepy AF! laugh.gif

_____

In the screenshots below it's a story about the little orphan named Dusk who wanted to stroke the griffon, the revered guardian of the Kingdom. Her carer Garth is taking her to the Griffon's Peak and hires Jenassa along the way to keep them safe. However, Garth has vile intentions and often brings children to the griffon so the "guardian" can devour them. Jenassa recognizes the menace on time and intervenes, killing Garth and wounding the griffon until it escapes. Then she accompanies Dusk to the Chapel of Mara, on a way there teaching her how to defend herself.

Renee
That sounds like a neat quest. So the child wants to pet a griffon (yikes, what the....? ) and this turns into an adventure for Jenassa. A good-natured one too, in the sense she gets to save the kid from the monster's belly. indifferent.gif

The griffon has feathers! Probably mentioned this before, but griffons also appeared in Dungeons & Dragons, although they were rare. No matter. Jenassa saves the day.

Look at the cloud formation above the winged monster in "This isn't over yet".

The mudcrab is bigger than the orphan!

Who are Silat the Vigilant and Liria the Redguard? Oops. Got them backward. Liria the Vigilant and Silat the Redguard?
SubRosa
That is a cool hawk thing with the long tail.

That menace is quite menacing.

The sky in This Isn't Over Yet is really cool.
Acadian
I agree with everything said above by Renee and SubRosa. Looks like a very cool mod with a great story. A mage who likes to turn children into birdfood gets his fiery comeuppance.

We have griffons in ESO as well. https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Gryphon

Good idea to practice on a mudcrab - albeit a very big one! I saw one the other day. Nasty creatures. They say the meat is good though. . . .

Lopov
@Renee - Liria is the Vigilant of Stendarr and she accompanies you on a quest to banish some ghost. Apparently the mod author intended her to act as a follower after the quest but he never fully realized his plan.

Most Redguards in Reach are hostile because they belong to Dragonstar mercenaries - pirates and plunderers - Silat was also one of them but after rebelling against his superior, they kicked him out. Also, Silat claims that the gryphon exists also in Hammerfell but that his appearance there is different. He gave Jenassa some bolts to bring it down easier and he promised to be there when she'll battle the gryphon for the final time.

@SubRosa - the sky may look cool, but it was the gryphon who caused that change and Jenassa would often get struck by lightning bolts during the battle.

@Acadian - on my first playthrough of Beyond Reach I never got the gryphon quest, looks like it glitched out or something.

I remember gryphons from ESO, there's more of them there, and a pair of two act as world bosses in Summerset IIRC.

The mudcrab meat is tasty and their chitin has some uses as well.

Reanimation is a neat shot as that blue-eyed skeleton rises.

Many fingers. laugh.gif

Interesting depiction of a sload. I think Jabba the Hutt is a sload, yes?

A classic Lopov shot of Jenassa.

One thing I’ll give Mora is being consistently unlikeable across all Elder Scrolls appearances.
SubRosa
I see your Battle of Evermore, and raise you The Battle of Evermore

Neat sparkly ghost tracks.

That finger thing is creepy.

That Sload is grody. Like gag me with a spoon.

Great Lopov Shot of Jen!

Apocrypha is quite apocalyptic.

Those black books really do deliver on the creepy magical grimoireness.
Lopov
@Acadian - Renee would probably be more creative than me and come up with some name from ManyFingers like Manny Pheengers or sth. similar. bigsmile.gif

Jabba is definitely similar to a sload, but I'm not sure if they as such exist in the SW Universe or do they go under a different name.

@SubRosa - when in Apocrypha, I'm always slightly afraid that my characters will fall into that gurgling black mass with tentacles.

Some hauntingly beautiful pics! I especially like Arnima.
SubRosa
Arnima is lovely.

Safe travels looks like a pirate flag.

Renee
Eh Lopov, slow down!!! laugh.gif I can't keep up with you! Some of us have jobs!

Wow, look at Evermore. Beyond Reach resembles Skyrim, but it's even more grim. indifferent.gif

History fact: Evermore appears in the original Elder Scrolls: Arena game, when there were only two devs making the entire game, until Todd joined them as a bug tester. blink.gif Yup, that was Mister Howard's original job: squashing bugs. Even that name EVERMORE sounds sort of Lord-of-the-Ringsy, like something a dev would have thought up on-the-spot because he had to fill up a map full of town's names. "Hmm, Evermore.... yeah that fits. Who cares if it's derivative? We need to make The Elder Scrolls: Arena sell copies!"

People hanging from the gallows... sad.gif

Cool, I assume that's Jenassa attacking Rados, who (I assume) is a really bad guy, right? One of the supporters of the orc-torturing, child-murdering king?

"I am the Shadow at your back..."

Wow, look at that Gorgon... blink.gif Does that thing run on four legs?

Shadow bathes in the final pic. wub.gif

SubRosa
Jenassa is looking badass with her two axes.

Forbidden idol is creepy. So is the rest of the Reach.

Cool Gorgon!

Acadian
Are you playing as Jenassa?

Nevermore. tongue.gif

Tebandra is pure Skyrim in how it looks/feels.

Mados and. . . oh, wait! Is that nirnroot to the right? wink.gif

That Gorgon doesn’t look quite dead enough.

Moonlight shadow is a beautiful shot.
Lopov
@Renee - Rados is the good guy, he's the grandson of Mados, the hero of the Reach. He fights at your side during some quests that are relevant to the main plotline.

The Gorgon can fly or walk/crawl, Jenassa always has some enchanted bolts that make flying creatures land, at her disposal, so she quickly forced the Gorgon to land.

@SubRosa - Jenassa started off with two swords, then she used two axes, her current setup is a Daedric mace and a nordic war pick.

@Acadian - yes, I'm (role)playing as Jenassa. My first character during this season was Verdil and Jenassa was his follower. As he was killed by some bandit chief (dead-is-dead), I "jumped" into the head of Jenassa and continued playing with her in the same game world. Quite some tweaking was required to make it work, and the console helped immensely as well.

That's indeed nirnroot, I haven't even noticed it in pic.

Thanks for the explanation on playing Jenassa. Still Skyrim but your mod package certainly adds some ominous and dark themes. Very moody shots. I've found pretty much most Reach Witches to be pretty creepy.
Renee
Really like Red and Manyfingers looks wicked.

Technically Sload should not appear outside of watery, marshy areas. They are supposed to be slow-moving, barely-reacting beings which must support themselves with water. They aren't supposed to be able to move on land. It'd be like putting a whale on dry land.

Mod author: fail. tongue.gif

Not sure if I would call it a fail. In Redguard for example the Sload N'Gasta, a nasty necromancer, lives in a wizards tower on a small rocky island west of Stros M'Kai named Isle of N'Gasta, it is also rumored that N’Gasta once lived and studied on Vvardenfell. So the adults do seem to get around well enough to cause problems.
Renee
Weird. I just went on UESP and what you say is there, macole. There are sload who aren't mere slugs who can barely move, apparently. This is the first I've ever heard this.

Usually when I read about sload, it is in some thread in which the OP wants to know why can't play as one. And the answer is usually...

Due to the corpulence of the adult Sload's slug-like humanoid body, they spend much of their time wallowing in shallow lagoons and move very slowly.[7] Sload supposedly have a poor grasping ability, making it difficult for them to use tools. The integument of Sload can slowly adapt to objects and surfaces, which allows them to climb surfaces like slugs

... something like that. Quoted that also from UESP. So it seems the sload-lore I've read so far in forums is just as inconsistent as Cyrodiil being a jungle. tongue.gif

Whatever happened to the sloads a race of superior intellect that use anti-grav sleds and airships to get around and have a masterful use of telekinetic abilities to manipulate things. It’s like I’ve always said the TES world is devolving as time goes forward. rollinglaugh.gif

Always remember Vivec is a master of Illusion, CHIM is a BIG lie and that I, an old vampire hunter adheres to the old ways. evillol.gif

Lopov
What a nice discussion you had about Sloads. wink.gif

@SubRosa - Zenalata is even more AF when she transforms into a black spider after being hurt enough. ohmy.gif

@Acadian - what I forgot to explain in the previous post is how I "jumped" to Jenassa. After Verdil was killed by the bandit chief at Robber's Gorge, I reloaded the last save, where he was still alive. I copied Jenassa's face as a preset for one of the Dunmeri woman, then I used console commands to change Verdil's race (and gender) to that of a Dunmer woman, then I sorted the rest with console commands. I dismissed the "original Jenassa" and deleted her from the game. So basically it's the same save file, events that happened in his game, are also present in her's. Upon reloading was the bandit chief still alive, so it was a perfect roleplay opportunity as Jenassa could avenge Verdil by killing the bandit chief.

Here it comes, the last batch from Beyond Reach, I b34t the mod.

Western High Rock is pretty. Nice to see that it's not too much like a darker version of Skyrim as well.

Thanks for more detailed explanation on Jenassa.

Babysitting is adorable!
Western High Rock looks really neat/inviting.

Oh and don't mess with the babysitter!
SubRosa
Jenassa makes for a really creepy babysitter.

Western High Rock looks pretty nice.

Because of the perspective, that sword like giant in the Battle in Oblivion pic.
Lopov
@Renee - in the Oblivion pic she is fighting against the Predothor (predator), the bodyguard of the demonic prince. This is probably the toughest battle in the mod.

I was hoping to get a better shot of the gryphon's death but immediately upon its death, you're being teleported to Mara's realm.

@Acadian - I agree, the Western High Rock is really neat, unfortunately the mod author never included a full questline for it, so it's mostly just for viewing, there aren't any tasks or quests that can be done there. Then again, I find the mod long enough as it already is.

@macole - Jenassa is the babysitter in love. wink.gif

@SubRosa - that sword is fairly giant, even Predothor is almost twice as big as our PC. Once you kill him, you have an option to severe his head and then you get a spell to conjure him at will but Jenassa didn't decide for this.

Thanks for watching my screenies, this concludes Jenassa's story and my Skyrim season 2021/2022.
