@SubRosa - a short distance west of the camp, where the Hobo killed raiders, a dead ghoul can be found along a pack of alive dogs. I moved Mutt with console commands to this camp, instead of waiting for the Hobo to encounter him at the Red Rocket station. As a result, Mutt glitched as they later on came to the RR station and didn't want to follow anymore, but traveling away from the RR made him follow again. Later visits to the RR didn't cause any more problems.

@Renee - his damaged PipBoy is a part of a mod. I'll need to remember to uninstall it when switching to Logan, and I'll also need to uninstall the mutated Dogmeat mod else Logan will have a mutated mutt as well.

The house isn't actually his, he just settled in for a while before moving on. But the cart is his only.

@SubRosa - yeah, I didn't know you had a house in Sanctuary. But I think, the other one, with some witch-like decorations would be more appropriate for you.

Light on the PipBoy doesn't work ever since something inside broke, so the Hobo needs another light source - the lantern.

@Renee - which green thing do you mean? His entire outfit is sort of green, it's in one piece. If you mean the thing on his back, that's the Hobo's rucksack.

Oh yes that's right. She can fly I this game, too! As you are gaming with her, is she "new" at flying, and marveling over how immersive and fun it is? Or does she already know she can fly? Also, that would be kewl if you put a Gadget NPC in her world.

Oh, is this the start of January's game? Awesome! ... Hey wait; where did all that beautiful green grass come from? GAAAAAAH !!!

I've got two favorites here: "Sneaky Crow" (really showcases January's beauty and facial expression; the lighting is excellent, too!)

And for its effect with your play on dark and light = "Emergency Medical Team" is stunning! That one is one of those real "WOW!!!" screens. All are great, but those two are outstanding!

Renee: The first robot was a construction model, so he's all yellow, like a construction helmet or heavy machinery.

Jan's shock gun is something I made. I used the textures from my Cryo Rifle and created a new gun with it, and gave it the Tesla Cannon projectile from the Automatron dlc.

Jan is more on the new side to flying in this. The jetpacks in Fallout 4 don't allow you to really fly. It is more like super jumping. Using the jetpack uses up action points. Once they are out it quits. So you can only go a little way, or farther if you give it intermittent spurts of power. But it still gives Jan a super leap, which she has in the fiction.

I spent a lot of time trying to find a way for January to shoot lightning. The game has a lightning gun (the Tesla Cannon). I tried making an invisible version of it, so it would look like she was shooting lightning from her hands. But instead it would shoot the lightning into the ground. I tried just using the gun, but it is crap. It just does not hurt people, even when you double and triple the damage with mods. It took ages for me to figure out what was causing it and fix the bug (the projectile the gun uses has an extremely short range, so anything beyond that range takes no damage). Eventually I decided to use my Cryo Rifle, and use the textures to create a brand new Shock Gun for Jan.

mALX: I stated using the summer option of a Seasons mod to make the world less brown and dull-looking. It looks a lot better than the vanilla game.

I really liked how the orange light bathed her face in the Sneaky Crow pic. That is why I took that screenshot in the first place. The same with the Medical Team pic, the light from the protectron's hands really contrasted nicely with the darkness all around.

The last time I saw the Hobo, he was pushing his cart on that ruined road just below Jan in the "Surveys the seas" screenie.

Are the mini-buoys on the outside of the ship placed by you, or are they there by default?

That cannon might be useful against lots of Commonwealth enemies as long as they're not moving too much left or right.

Looks like the Fireman can be opened during the operation - there's not an inscription saying it can't be.

Lopov: The Hobo explains that smell January noticed on the way south on the freeway... She was pretty sure that was not teen spirit.

All those bouys were added by me through the normal workshop interface in the game. You get them with Far Harbor. They take a lot of Cork. I used a ton of the stuff just on those decorations!

Unfortunately the cannon does not actually work. It would be really neat if it acted like a gun turret.

I love that alien getting ripped in the gym! The little touches Bethesda went to with things like that are really cool.

That's a mirelurk queen or sth similar, right? I remember encountering one in Vinnie's game in Nuka-World. Very hard to bring down. Jan will need to wash her hands and rinse her armor once the battle is over. Oh, and she'll need to wash her hair as well.

Acadian: There is a rideable motorcycle mod, but it does not work very well. Otherwise Jan would be tooling around on her Victory.


Renee: Who Knows the End is a Mirelurk Queen. They are a new creature added by FO4. They are the equivalent to Supermtant Behemoths


Lopov: It is too bad that you cannot hire Edward Deegan as a companion. He really has nothing to do once the Cabot quests are over.

That 2nd screenshot was taken moments after January killed a Sentry Bot. She hit her jetpack and flew straight up, then it blew up underneath (and around) her.

Swan is supposedly tough when encountered at low levels, but I've only encountered him with Logan, when he was already high-leveled and after one well-placed sneak shot and two or three consequent shots he was back in his pond.

I hope she doesn't break the periscope. It's the only way for the Ghoul Captain to see outside.

Acadian: Swan is a Super Mutant Behemoth living in the swan pond in Boston Common. There are paddleboats with a swan design. He took them and built himself a suit of swan armor with them. And he uses a ship anchor for a club. He is a pretty tough opponent. There are actually signs all around the Common warning people to stay away.

Sadly Jan's boathouse is fixed. That is just the nature of settlement building. There are some mods with moving homes, but I have not dug into how that works. My guess is that they are interior cells, with an entry door that float between fixed positions via a script.


Lopov: Jan was a superhero by the time she met Swan. She is my physically toughest character ever, with her Endurance past 10, Armor at maxed out, and Rank 5 Ballistic Fiber on every piece. Plus the Lifegiver perk at highest rank. She is an insane tank.

Swan put up a decent fight. He lasted about 6 punches or so, which is a lot longer than most do against Jan. Usually only the highest rank Deathclaws can do as good or better.

Is that UFO a random event, where you see an explosion in the sky, then it falls to some random place? I remember that Logan saw it very early in his game close to the Diamond City but never managed to find where it landed.

Acadian: Jan has a been a lot of fun to play. I now have the more hours playing her than any other fallout character.


Lopov: The UFO in Fallout 4 is not random, like it is in Fallout 3. It always happens as soon as you reach Level 20. It always crashes in the same place too, a little east of Oberland Station. You can find some blood tracks that lead off from the saucer. Follow them to the alien.

The exploding sentry bots make great opportunities for Michael Bay shots. I love how they explode.

The knocked his socks off pic was a suicider. Jan shot the nuke in his hand and blew him up. That was what was left of him (his torso was somewhere).

Unfortunately Jan does need a jetpack to fly in this game. I could use the TCL command, but that just does not feel right.

The last three pics are in a toxic version of the Deadlands. It is an area called the Glowing Sea. It was creamed by nukes from the war, which leveled everything and turned it into an irradiated nightmare.


TheCheshireKhajiit: There are a couple ways to get Rad Immunity. For Loviatar I used the Ghoulish perk from Ironman Survival Tweaks. Then I tweaked their version a bit more. So in the end, radiation heals your injuries, and the rads you have quickly disappear. Basically you absorb radiation and turn it into regeneration. I used the same thing for playing my ghoul Medusa.

A much simpler way is to simply make yourself immune to radiation. There is a perk that all ghoul NPCs and most critters get that does it. I made a mod that improves the Rad Resistance Perk so that the highest rank gives you that Immunity perk. Jan has it, which makes exploring Far Harbor a lot easier.

Can you give yourself the perk that the NPC’s and critters get through console commands? That sounds most ideal for my current purposes.

No. I just looked it up. It isn't marked as playable. It would be easy to make a mod that makes it playable though, or a copy of it that you could use for just your character.

Jan is a mouse that can kill a deathclaw, more of them actually.

Deathclaw just wanted to pat Jan on her back.

Acadian: Deathclaws are way tougher than Minotaurs. The worst part of them is they automatically stagger you with every hit, even when you block. They can easily get you in a loop of being constantly staggered, so that you can't ever hit them back.

Unlike Oblivion and Skyrim, Bethesda did a lot with the underwater areas in Fallout 4. There are tons of sunken ships, crashed airplanes, pipelines, nuclear waste barrels, and a few random containers of loot down there.


Lopov: Painted ghouls will come in the future. But I don't think Jan took any selfies with them.

I use the Summer option from one of the Seasons mods. It makes it look like almost an entirely new game.
