Acadian: I think we would need Jerric for a second moon. Assuming he was drunk enough to drop his drawers... laugh.gif

That was not even a bathroom! It is just a utility tunnel. I have no idea how the toilet, bathroom sign, or flag got in there!

I love how the plungers, and bloody hand prints, go all the way up on to the ceiling. It looks like someone used the plungers to climb up.

The last two pics are from the Operation Anchorage DLC. Hecate was in the right area to kick it off, so she decided to help out the Brotherhood Outcasts and give the simulation a try. It is hard to tell the difference between the DLC and my mod, because they both use the same location. My mod is different in the critters you find there, and the lack of simulation elements (like de-rezzing bodies, healing stations, etc...)

mALX: I always have trouble finding the cell that the Burnmaster is in. It is easy to walk right past without noticing it. But it is great for torching ghouls once you get it! biggrin.gif

I have never had those Brotherhood guys attack me. I have had the bug where they follow you around though, and you find them in your Megaton house! I always thought that was funny.

Hecate is in the Operation Anchorage DLC, not my mod. She might do the mod after the sim, or I might save the mod for later. The DLC goes really quick, because there isn't any loot you can pick up except more ammo and occasional weapons.

My new team in Pillars of Eternity - Aela's Five

Here is the same pic without the user interface

And finally zoomed in as far as I can go and still get them all in the pic

How fun! Aela and company look great - they even have a pig and wolf to help them out. That Barbs of Condemnation spell looks pretty potent. I'm sure having two mages in the party is fun. I remember (somewhat unhappily) in BG II absolutely requiring almost a full mage simply to strip away the pesky defenses of enemy mages.
mALX

GAAAAAAH!!! You made a mod in Anchorage? I want to hear all about it !!!!

*

The Village People!

I like the one with the interface better because I can see Aela's face on it!

Ooh, I see a sword and shield on the ground; can you pick up loot in this game?

Drake shot is very cool!

I see a skellie in that last shot, lol.

I know you have shown this game before, but for some reason I can't remember it verysad.gif

SubRosa
Acadian: Thankfully PoE is not as bad as the BG games when it comes to needing a mage with the right 4 or 5 spells cast in succession to bring down an enemy mage's defenses. Mages are support characters, that most of the time plink away with their wands doing ok damage, because you want to conserve their spells for when it really matters. Then when you uncork their abilities they totally outclass all the other characters with pure damage output. They are like artillery or air-strikes. Even though Aela is a Priest, she still has the highest damage ever done in a single attack in the party, something like 74 points.

The Barbs of Condemnation is a 1st level spell. But it has long range and does some pretty solid damage, even now that Aela is 8th level or so. She still uses in on a regular basis.

mALX: I made Anchorage Aftermath back in the winter. It allows you to visit Anchorage in 'modern' time, and fight new enemies. All the Anchorage gear is there to loot, as is power armor training. The best thing is that you don't have to help the Outcasts, or do Operation Anchorage at all to get there. But you do need the dlc installed and active, since Anchorage Aftermath its resources.

Aela's team is the Village People! How appropriate, considering that Ungarion is her right hand man! laugh.gif

The new game is Pillars of Eternity. I started a topic about it here a while ago, and Lopov and Haute have played it as well.

The one thing I like about the interface pics are the character portraits as well. The characters themselves are so small on the screen that they hardly have any real definition to them. But the portraits make them all come to life and seem like people.

You cannot pick up most of the items laying around though. sad.gif Its like the Mass Effect games, where all the clutter you see is actually built into the background, not actual objects you can interact with. You can only pick up items from the critters you kill, and those are only the ones that the developers decided to make drop from them.

Sounds like nice improvements to the excessive need for mages to bust mages in earlier games. Very nostalgic to see your screens - they look great! Guns in D&D?!? blink.gif Oh I love those mage summon independent blades spells from D&D!
mALX

GAAAAAH! I have downloaded this! It must have been right around the time I had that surgery; and I forgot about it, urk. embarrased.gif I haven't played FO3 since then, so it hasn't been installed; it is probably in my FO3 mods folder.

Sorry about that, I guess I still have some memory issues, embarrased.gif

mALX

Oh, it is too bad there is no loot; that table in the first screen looks like it would be fascinating to ransack!

I like the running commentary in the lower right corner of the second screen; kind of keeping you appraised of the kills your team has made and what bootie they took from the enemies, laugh.gif

BWAAHAA! Don't state the obvious, lady Webb!

Boy, I just don't see how you can tell what is going on in that last screen, that is one hot mess! laugh.gif

Great shots!

SubRosa
I have been dealing with the CTDs by quicksaving often! laugh.gif

The feedback box in the corner of the screen is an old holdover from the old days of isometric RPGs like Baldur's Gate. It gives you a full run down of everything happening. Telling you who hit or missed, what damage they did, etc... It also tracks the dialogue, so you can go back to see exactly what someone said. I like it very much. It helps out a great deal.

At times it can be difficult to tell what is going on when the screen gets filled with magic effects, like from fireballs. I find the colored circles under everyone makes things easier, because allies are green, enemies are red. Dead people might still be on the screen, but they won't have a circle, so that tells you what you can ignore.

I love the building and textures in the "Court" screen!

But I'm Totally lost on the battlefield screens. I don't know how you can see such tiny little figures in action and think to know how to defend or attack! You are amazing!

Oh wow, do they give you enough time to loot all those bodies? AWESOME !!!

I kind of like the screens with the UI on so I can read what is going on, see Aela, etc - but the battlefield did look a little closer in that screen without the UI. Does it bring it in a bit closer to remove the UI?

Awesome Shots !!!! Sorry it took so long to get here, have had a bad couple weeks here - too much going on.

SubRosa
I was pretty lost in the big battle too. The game actually crashed the first time I tried it! The second time I had a better idea of what to expect, but it was still confusing. I just tried to keep my team together so Aela's buff spells would protect the entire group. Then I just concentrated on wiping out whatever was in front of the team, until finally there was no one left.

I manually zoomed in a little closer in the pic without the UI is all. It looks the same with or without the UI.

I finished part one of The White March, and the Endless Depths of Od Nua. Seridwe has been using Cloudpiercer Stormcaller, which she found atop Durgan's Battery in the March. So far it has been most impressive.

Great shots! That first dragon looks pretty impressive. Not familiar with the Easter Egg, but I'm glad you left the UI up in that shot - a nice opportunity to see the portraits you imported for your characters. Oh, and the kitty. Actually, both the kitty in the portraits and the one walking around on the floor. tongue.gif

So what is Cloudpiercer and what does it do?

SubRosa
Oops, it was not Cloudpiercer, but Stormcaller. It is a unique enchanted bow added by The White March. It is pretty impressive, especially when its Returning Storm effect goes off in the middle of a group of enemies.

Holy Cow, that dragon is huge compared to the Player!

OMG, that easter egg is so funny! I haven't seen the show it comes from; but just really love when games do stuff like that! Say, in that shot do I see a housecat? Is that part of your troup or something like a pet?

That contraption looks like something from the old board game "Mouse Trap," laugh.gif

I think I am beginning to remember when you played this game before and posted screens that so many of the enemies seemed really huge and scary to face (from my perspective) and wondering if they were scaled like the dragons are in Skyrim or if they were like the huge things in ESO = REALLY tough? Those Drakes look Awesome!

Sorry I was late getting here, I somehow lost track of my email notice on this post, urgh! verysad.gif

WOO HOO! Persephone is back! And her tower, too!

Red Dead looks downright eerie, like she is descending from the sky (or ascending to that red moon, like it is calling to her or something); lol.

Magic by Moonlight is just beautiful, Persephone looks spectral here!

Oh wow, I don't recognize that tomb! Didn't think there could be a place in Cyrodiil I hadn't seen!

Dark Spirit - Oh, is she at the Priory of the Nine here? Now THAT makes me want to play Oblivion again!

Waterfall = Gaaaah, another place in Cyrodiil I don't recognize? Urk, where is this place?

AWESOME shots, I love it when you play Oblivion and Fallout 3; you make me feel excited to play them again!

Acadian: The Waterfall is added by Unique Landscapes - Arrius Creek. It adds a long creek that starts in the mountains and winds its way down to Lake Arrius, with plenty of waterfalls along the way.

mALX: That is not even a true dragon in that pic. It is only a drake. Although a big one. The dragons are larger, and tougher.

That is a housecat. It is a black and white cat that is one of the many pet options in Pillars.

I remember Mouse Trap! It was so much fun trying to build Rube Goldbergs with that thing!

The tomb is added by the Iron Maiden Armor mod. You can get some of the armor there.

The Waterfall is from Unique Landscapes - Arrius Creek. The Unique Landscapes mods add a lot of new areas to Cyrodiil. Some are really good. Some are really meh. You have to just try each and see if you like them or not.

On the tomb and waterfall = WHEW! What a relief to know there is a reason I'm not recognizing them! I was kind of worried it was me, laugh.gif (lol, but serious)

"No way to treat the dead" is an Awesome shot! There is a whole story there between her expression looking down and the scattered bones at her feet; long lost scene she may have somehow survived and the others were all people she had known; etc. I mean that is a fantastic shot, you really captured a moment there!

The next two had me jumping up to find Misa in Seyda Neen screens! She has a house there that Persephone is welcome to visit any time; and also one with an indoor pool in Balmora.

LOVE that armor, that is gorgeous; and so is Morrowind Persephone!

Acadian
Persephone in Cyrodiil. Given how those skeletal remains are just out and unprotected, they are probably Third Era folks instead of any of Persephone’s much more ancient pals. Nevertheless, you can almost see her pondering who they might be. What their stories are. . . .

Wow – your Morrowind looks fabulous. What a beautifully tropical looking sunset. And Persephone looks absolutely great – you've done an amazing job of rendering her so similar to how she looks in both Cyrodiil and Skyrim.
SubRosa
mALX: No way to treat the dead is from a goblin cave. The skeletons are all their victims, apparently tossed together by the goblins. That really got Persephone's dander up.

Acadian: Thankfully the ever popular Rens and Corean Hairs have been ported not only to Skyrim, but also backwards to Morrowind. That helps keeping Persephone looking like Persephone. Like the other games, I modded a new race for her, with her characteristically deathly pale skin.

Ooh, I have become hooked on "Absorb Health!"

Really surprising how good the Orc looks here, and also the textures of the wood compared to the rock!

WOO HOO! You freed Aravi! I have not done this yet, or freed Maxical's mother Shivani yet either!

Oh, Persephone looks amazing in the underwater shot! It doesn't even look like she is drowning!

OMG, I think I remember Treydog doing this quest in his story! You are really far along in the game then? I haven't gotten past Balmora, was doing quests there when I switched to Skyrim.

These are AWESOME !!! I haven't seen you do Morrowind before, this is fantastic!

SubRosa
Acadian: I am using a head mod for Persephone's face, that adds a lot of celebrity faces. I think the one I am using is Jennifer Garner.

I think I free Aravi in all of my Morrowind games. Not that there have been many. The cave she is being held is not very far from the starting area, so it is pretty easy.

Lopov: The Absorb Health threw me for a loop, because it was a Restoration spell in Oblivion. In Morrowind I discovered it is a Mysticism spell! I wasn't expecting that, so I didn't take Mysticism as a Major or Minor. I had to pay for a lot of training to be able to successfully cast the spell.

I think you were a little too late for King Coin's Aravi. But she was a very prominent character around here at one time. KC did in fact get the character's name and background from the NPC in Morrowind.

Persephone doesn't need to breathe, so underwater is the same as above it to her! I accomplished that by adding the Argonian waterbreathing power to her Deadwalker racial abilities.

mALX: Where is Shivani being held? If it is somewhere on the Bitter Coast, Persephone might have rescued her as well!

I have not gotten very far in the game at all. Persephone has mostly explored around Seyda Neen. She has been down to Ebonheart twice, and made a trip into Vivec to sell some expensive loot. She has not even gotten to Balmora yet. But probably will get there tonight or tomorrow.

Persewind continues to look great in the land of mushroom houses. It is easy to see the influence on later games when we see the Morrowind Golden Saints and Dremoras. Even the Ghostfence looks like it inspired the magical wall around Valerica in Skyrim’s Soul Cairn. I’m just so impressed that Persephone is so well represented now in TES 3, 4 and 5. smile.gif
mALX

WOO HOO! Awesome! Shivani and Nisaba both are in the Dunmer Stronghold of Hlormaren; along with their husbands S'Vandra and S'Renji. (Maxical is not S'Vandra's child by blood; however she was born within the marriage such as it was).

Ooh, Persephone's pony tail looks like Buffy's from the back! I love the look of that armor she is wearing! And wow, I never got to summon a Golden Saint, or even a Dark Seducer in Morrowind! That is so cool! But ... er, what did you do with her? Is that a quest?

Holy Cow, that is one loooong sword!

I am wondering if you went an opposite direction from where I went, I never got to see the Ghostfence! And I did make it to Balmora!

Seeing that fence here; and I've seen it in Morroblivion and Skywind - really makes me wish Bethesda would redo their older games in today's graphics engines and capabiities! How Awesome would it be to play Morrowind and have it be as great visually; mechanically; the animatronics; etc. - that we have today. And Arena; Daggerfall - would love to play them through in current graphics and combat abilities!

Okay, rant over.

Boy, Persephone's face came out stunning!

Oh, is that what the Ghostgate looks like? I used that structure as a gate for a pass in my story; rollinglaugh.gif

Oh, Battling a Dremora is a fantastic shot! Holy cow, what a great rig you must have to get that much detail! Are you using any mods to enhance the game? This is my favorite shot, spectacular!

I used a face mod on Misa; a body mod; an animation mod so everyone's walking looked better; and two combat mods to improve the combat - it was awful without them; but the animations were worse. Running still looked bad after the mod; and Khajiit were so bad - that was why I played Misa there, I couldn't watch the Khajiit walk, it was painful! laugh.gif

Man, Persephone is leaving a trail of dead bodies! Where/what is this place she is in? Awesome looking place! It looks like the Daedric ruins in ESO!

Skewered is right! Holy Cow, I guess so !!!

Awesome shots, I hope you stay in Morrowind a while so I can see more of it on a machine worthy enough to do it justice!

SubRosa
Acadian: Playing Morrowind really makes it plain where the look of Mania in The Shivering Isles came from. The Ascadiian Isles area around Vivec is practically identical, just less colorful.

mALX: Wow, Persephewind just barely missed Maxical's mom. She went north along (and beyond) the shore from Hla Oad, and followed a couple little archipelagos of islands out in the water. There were a bunch of Daedric Shrines with names starting with "A", and finally a Dwemer ruin called Aleft that she explored. From there she went straight east over the mountains to Caldera and did some quests for people around there. That got her going further east, as far as the Ghost Gate. Then she headed south though an old lava flow and cleared out more stuff, before finally looping west to Balmora. So she circled completely around Hlomaren! But she will be getting there soon.

Persephone found a summon Golden Saint scroll somewhere early in the game. She saved that for a special occasion, which turned out to be the first time she fought a Dremora. That pic was taken after killing the Dremora.

Persephone does not have to worry about drowning. She's undead, so she doesn't need to breathe! I always give my Deadwalker race in all games waterbreathing to simulate that.

You are right about the animations and the combat. They are so clunky, even for the time Morrowind was made! Seriously, the Kotor games came out at the same time, and looked so much better in every regard.

I am using MGE to improve the graphics, and a few other mods like Better Bodies, Better Clothes, and an Armor Overhaul mod. Plus a whole bunch of head mods from Emma and others. That makes parts of the game look much better, while some things still look vanilla. Which can be kind of weird.

The Deadric Shrines in Morrowind are probably what looks like the ESO places to you. They are like small cities with really weird architecture. A lot more intricate and involved than the Daedric Shrines in Oblivion and Skyrim.

I can't get over how barren both Balmora and Caldera look in these screens, I don't remember them looking so bleak in my game! Is it because you are so far away from them up in the air for the screen?

This is a great shot; even though the landscape is kind of reminiscent of a Fallout game here, lol. I'm dying to know about Persephone's sword, is that a mod added one? Is it enchanted?

Also on this shot; I love the architecture in the distance there; those steeples on shrines and some buildings in Morrowind; even more so now that I have seen it in the full glory of today's graphics in ESO. Really nice shot here, even with the lack of color!!!

Oh, Aha! This is the "Where Am I" thread screen! So I could cheat by following the path you detailed above and looking at all the buildings to figure out which this is!!! BWAAHAA!!!!

Man, that Bonelord looks freaky! The ones in ESO are huge and tough looking, but not scary = THIS one is scary as hell!!!!!

Geez, I'm sleeping with the lights on tonight! Oh, is that pink coming from Persephone's sword? What does the enchantment do?

HA! So Acadian has his own islands and didn't invite Maxical or Misa, but invited Persephone? *mALX turns green, grows to giant proportions, rips shirt off...* rollinglaugh.gif

The name was familiar but I couldn't place it exactly until now.

Her Golden Saint wears similar armor as Persephone herself, at least on the first glance.

I just love Morrowind tombs! Some are very small but so fitting for the region and the culture.

I wonder if she summoned that Dremora by picking up one of the cursed items at the shrine?

Nice pic of Caldera from the distance. Reminds me of some old French towns here in Europe.

While Balmora reminds me of Egypt except there aren't any pyramids around.

Seeing where Persephone is located, I doubt that Arkngthand is the correct answer to your question in the Where am I? thread.

I never understood why bonelords need so big hoods if 90% of it is empty? tongue.gif

Lovely shot of the isles.

Acadian: The Daedric Shrines in Oblivion and Skyrim are real letdowns after Morrowind. The Morrowind versions are these mini fortresses, with lots of usually hostile guards. They are tough places to tackle.

Your isles are indeed one of the most bucolic areas of the game!

mALX: I think it was just the weather that makes Balmora look so bleak. I think it was a cloudy sky day, because the sky is dull and dim looking.

Persephone's sword is just an ordinary Silver Claymore. She enchanted it with Absorb Health, in keeping with the other versions of Malediction in Oblivion and Skyrim. It is what makes the pink lights around the heads of the people she hits with it.

It must be really nice to see Morrowind with ESO's graphics. I really like the art styles they used.

They have Bonelords in ESO? That is cool! They are one of the creepier monsters in the ES games. But still not as creepy as the feral ghouls in the Fallout games.

Lopov: Persephone explores every tomb. But she never takes anything from within. She just fights the undead. She doesn't know why they are so hostile!

Persephone did summon the Dremora in her pics by picking up items in the shrines. She always picks them up, so she can take them on.

Balmora makes me think of middle eastern and Spanish architecture. The Redoran style is what I like best, because it is so bizarre.

I guess the Bonelords like the view from up there! With a name like that, you would think they are porn stars... wink.gif

A friendly guar! Not many such are around.

Is Persephone doing the MQ?

Lopov: Persephone frees every slave she comes across. Including those in the Caldera ebony mine. She was a slave herself, so she takes it very personally. She has not come across any of the Twin Lamps yet though.

I made a mod that makes the wild guar friendly, so Persephone does not have to kill them.

Persephone is doing the main quest, at least a little bit. She has met Caius Cosades and done his first quest, and gone into the dwarven ruin Arkensomethinggard for the Mages Guild leader. But she has not gone beyond that.

Persephone takes her hot business seriously!

Shipwrecks are one of my favorite things to explore in Morrowind, probably because they're almost unique to that game. While there are a few in Skyrim and even less in Oblivion, they can't compare at all with shipwrecks on the coast of Vvardenfell. Some of my characters used them as homes.

Unlike Larry, his brother prefers to have clothes on.

Dagoth's followers, not just those with big noses, but especially those walking lumps of flesh, are to me still one of the scariest enemies in TES.

Hey, now Skyephone has similar eyes as Deeno.
Acadian
Love those shots near the water. In your first shot, it may be my imagination, but it looks like Persephone’s expression is saying, ‘Ewww!’. tongue.gif

Those Daedric Shrines do indeed look more interesting/fun that their SkyBlivion counterparts.

Being a dead girl, I imagine Persephone’s too cool for fire to bother her.

Big Nose. laugh.gif

Wow, Larry’s bonelord brother is one weird looking skellie – no wonder he wants to wear robes. ohmy.gif

Oh, Skyephone’s new silver eyes look fabulous! happy.gif
SubRosa
Lopov: Persephone actually has a weakness to fire, thanks to her Deadwalker race. But it is still not enough to keep a dead girl down.

I love the shipwrecks in Morrowind as well. Except when they are tilted at extreme angles. Then I have trouble navigating through them without getting stuck on things.

It helps that all the Ash Spawn sites are barely lit, with nothing but a few red candles. I am currently working on a mod to improve the lighting, since its almost impossible for me to see the game when the afternoon sun shines into the room.

Oh noes! Persephone has Snake Eyes!

Acadian: The sheer number of slaughterfish in the water around Vvardenfell is enough to make most people say Ewwww. OTOH stepping into the water is one of the best ways to level up fast.

The Daedric Shrines are pretty simple on the inside. Most have a little corridor that runs from the door to a single large chamber with the Daedric Prince's statue. Some have a rooms beyond. But for most that is all. In fact, all of Morrowind's dungeons are small. Most are just 3-4 rooms total. Multi-level dungeons are usually only quest-related, and even those tend to only be a handful of rooms each.

Larry the bonelord is weird as can be! I wonder what those long-necked four armed dudes looked like when they were bedecked with flesh.

Oh, I approve of the Acadian Isles! Red Mountain. . . not so much. tongue.gif

Neat peek at that city in the distance. What is that little critter?

Love the reference to the mighty Minsc and Boo! wub.gif There’s another of those curious critters – dead this time. I’m chuckling over the skellie’s animation/pose.

Yes, Bethesda naming that "The Gash" would have been hard enough to ignore; but the Wet West Gash = me sounding like Beavis and Butthead for the next 45 minutes every time I thought of it, laugh.gif

That is a very cool looking underwater cave! And one very ugly slaughterfish!

I love the Bitter Coast too; it just feels so believable with the little islands and that shack is a perfect example.

Ooh, was there any drowned treasure near the shipwreck?

Hmmm, I wonder if that is the same shrine as your "Where Am I" post!!! laugh.gif

Persephone is most def a hottie! What an Awesome screen!

OH! OH! Is she going after Dagoth-Ur? AWESOME !!!!!!!

"Readying" is another spectacular shot, mainly because it is such an awesome close in shot of Persephone's face! She is gorgeous!

OMG, she has a summonable really creepy looking bonelord follower? Does he fight well defending her? Urgh, they are so creepy!!! But if they are tough fighters, I guess having one by one's side would be ... doable, laugh.gif

You really went all out in these shots, these are spectacular! My favorites are the "Readying" and "Hottie," but all are Awesome !!!

** Holy Cow, those new skyrim eyes are positively freaky! She looks Awesome!!!

I meant to say something in the last set of screens, the "Larry" shot = about Persephone's expression on her face in that shot - she has the same expression in this shot, and it reminded me I had meant to mention it.

One of the things I loved so much about the other shot and this one both is her expression, while looking at that freaky bonelord - you could write a story just off her expression and the setting; that horrible looking bone thing with no neck - that is a spectacular shot because her expression is so intriguing in it; you have to wonder what she is thinking!

Those Acadian Isles are gorgeous - I haven't found them yet in my game, not that I know of l (but it has been a couple years since I played Morrowind)

Oh, this is so exciting! I never got even near Red Mountain in my game, I have never even seen screens of it! AWESOME !!!!!!!

Wow, the Ghostfence looks really good in this shot! Is it like a City Wall or something? I really would like one day to play Morrowind through and see all these things I've only heard about on forums!

And the red sky in these shots is really setting the scene for meeting Dagoth-Ur; like those ones in the tunnel in your last set when you were fighting an ascended sleeper or ash vampire (I don't know what it was) - but the redness accentuated the feel of being so near that volcanic core!

In ESO, I have really come to love Red Mountain; and the ash storms even. But after seeing these screens, I kind of wish they had put a little reddish tint to the sky near the lava flows there. I mean, I am sure they didn't because red uses up so many resources and with so many people and NPC's in such a vast open cell - it would probably cost them if they did in the playability around Red Mountain. But what a nice touch it would be!

They did use red in the core of the volcano where you battle the 'Brothers of Strife'; but it is a separate cell with only a handful of NPC's and you are the only player there.

To me, it just adds to the whole feel of being that near an actively erupting volcano.

OMG, Larry looks like he is wiping his brow here! That is so funny!!!!

Awesome update !!!!!

SubRosa
Acadian: My guess is that the Bonelords did not have those giraffe necks and extra arms in life. They are probably 'features' added on afterward...

Red Mountain is pretty ominous up close. From a distance it just looks like a lump of rocks though. That is the problem the ES games have with all long distance objects. sad.gif

The critter in the distance of the Ald'ruhn pic is a Guar, its a not very dangerous wild animal native to Morrowind.

The critter in the skeleton pic is another beastie entirely. That was was an Alit, which is a more dangerous monster.

Lopov: "Once I was a young girl picking flowers. Now the dead come to me, and call me their queen..." That was a wonderful quote on a goddess site about Kore/Persephone. To be certain, my Persephone did pick flowers once upon a time, but that was back in the First Age.

The Ascadian Isles are one of the nicest parts of Vvardenfell. While I love the Bitter Coast, I would not want to live there. Flies, heat, swamps, muck, yuck. But I do love a game set in that environment. But the Ascadian Isles seem to have it all: abundant water, fertile fields, shade from sun thanks to those Emperor Parasol mushroom trees, etc...

I could not pass up the Minsc quote when I saw Larry was covering his face in the ash storm!

mALX: At least they did not name that area The Landing Strip... laugh.gif

I don't think there was any underwater treasure outside of that particular shipwreck. But I believe there were some floating barrels. I don't really remember. I always explore every shipwreck I come across.

That Daedric Shrine was not from any of my recent Where Am I? posts.

The Acadian Isles are at the very south end of the map. They are where Vivec and Ebonheart are. It is the area with the giant mushroom trees.

The Ghostfence is a big magical wall that surrounds Red Mountain. The Tribunal created it to keep Dagoth Ur in. Of course it isn't working...

That sounds cool about ESO. It would be great to see Morrowind in an updated game. I keep hoping for Skywind to come out sometime.

Meet Darryl

Persephone and Darryl vs. vampires

Darryl has some kind of fire-looking attack that lowers his victim's attributes

Darryl gets medieval

Ald'ruhn skies

Lopov
Darryl is definitely the scariest of the bunch.

I 'love' vampires in Morrowind, partly because they're rare and partly because they have the most creepy eyes of all vampires in TES series. You don't need to make them like emos to make them look scary. tongue.gif
Acadian
Nice to see Darryl evolving. I see he’s been bulking up and adding some muscle to his bones - Perhaps someone else’s muscle, but muscle nonetheless. biggrin.gif He just needs to rip some glowing blue eyes out of someone’s head to replace his own and he’ll really start looking quite draugrish.

The magic effects look pretty neat.

I chuckled over ‘medieval’. It looks like that vampiress in the back has a pink ‘thought cloud’ over her head. I imagined she was thinking, ‘Oh pooh!’ tongue.gif
mALX

I first saw these screens from my email notice; which either gives links or words, but not both. Well, this time it gave me the links so I was ablel to see the screenshots but no caption.

So what happened is, I see this first screenshot and I'm thinking, "GAAAAAH!"

So then Lopov's comments hit my email, and he mentions "Darryl." So knowing you, I know "Darryl" is like "Larry;" he is most def going to be a follower for your character.

So, I go through the screens again, and I see that Chimer guy - I'm thinking HE is Darryl - till I got on the page just now, laugh.gif

All I can say is, "GAAAAAAARGH, URGH!" I'm sleeping with the lights on after seeing Darryl! rollinglaugh.gif

I have to agree with Lopov on these vampires being awesome to look at; and their eyes being creepy!

I found this on Google, man = they look much freakier than Oblivion's vampires!

http://www.worldofelderscrolls.de/morrowin.../VI_Vampire.jpg

Oh yeah, Fire on vampires = I'd say it would lower their attributes !!

Man, this fight is amazingly long, and two of them are still fighting!!! Did the Khajiit go down first?

Alld'ruhn skies is Awesome !!! The banners on the building; that little chinese type lantern so decorative - just stunning how well Morrowind was made; if they had only put as much effort into the animations and combat!

One thing that got me - characters can't sit. So Princess Stomper made a mod that added legs to a chair when you activated it; and your character still stood but it would appear they were sitting for screenshots, lol.

AWESOME SHOTS !!! Despite his gross appearance, Darryl has most def impressed me with his defense of Persephone !!!

SubRosa
Lopov: Darryl has always been the biggest, baddest undead you could summon up in the game's he is in. devilsmile.gif

So far I have only come across vampires twice. The first time they almost killed Persephone. Thankfully I was more prepared the second time around. Persephone had Darryl around by then, and he helped thin the vamp herd.

Acadian: I think Darryl has been taking Dragon Growth Hormone! laugh.gif Or maybe he really did rip that muscle off of someone else! biggrin.gif

That pink thought cloud over one vampire is the Absorb Health effect from Malediction. It really helps out tremendously in the big fights.

mALX: Darryl (and his other brother Darryl) has always been Persephone's summon undead warrior. They are Draugr in Skyrim, and Skellies in Oblivion (named Larry), and whatever there is available in the other games I have played Persephone in. He was an actual full NPC in Pillars of Eternity, but that was a first for him. Most of the time he is just a summoning.

I have always thought that Larry, Darryl, and Darryl were people Persephone knew while they were all alive. Perhaps even her brothers from back when they were all slaves of the Ayleids. She calls them not because she has enslaved them with arcane power, but because they are her friends. Even though they are dead, they are still just a spell away.

TBH, the resoloution is so low in Morrowind that my first time fighting vampires I did not realize what they were until I moused over one and it said "Vampire". So I actually prefer the more recent ones. Though I have never been overly thrilled with them either. You need mods to have decent vampires in a Bethesda game.

I love the paper lanterns in Morrowind, and a lot of the other little 'stuff', like the redware pottery, and building styles.

I didn't even notice that you cannot sit! But there are so many things you cannot do in Morrowind that you can in other game. Even the TFC command is not really there. There is only an early version that starts up the vanity mode, turning the camera around your character. But you cannot control the camera, it tuns in the speed and direction it wants to.

Solstheim looms in the background

Acadian
Despite the game’s limitations, you have certainly done a magnificent job bringing Persewind to the Dunmeri province. Her face is amazing.

Very cool how, in ‘Exploring...’, the pure vertical angle of Persephone’s sword matches that of the spires around her.

Woah! That is an Artillery Bow! ohmy.gif

Levitation looks like great fun!
mALX

"Solstheim" - It may look intriguing here; but I can't see the name without hearing it being said in Vilja's sulking voice, laugh.gif I think she mentions Solstheim several thousand times per day.

In "Ready," is this the same strip of water northern border in the Skyrim game?

"Exploring" = my favorite shot; this place is Awesome! I never saw it in my game, it is amazing!

"Big Girl Bow" = 2nd favorite shot. HOLY COW! That ballista is HUGE !!!! Awesome Shot!!! But ... can it be shot or is it a static?

Ooooh, Levitation !!! Okay, now I have to ask: How does it end? Can you be up in the air and just plummet to the ground? Is there a warning when it is going to run out? Can you cast it repeatedly or can you only do it once per X time? I've always wanted to try it; did not find it yet in my Morrowind game. Holy Cow she is high up, though. A fall from up there - urgh!

All Awesome shots !!!

SubRosa
Acadian: Levitating is very helpful in Morrowind. Some areas in dungeons are specifically made to only be reachable via levitation. The landscape of Vvardenfell is split up by mountain ranges, which I think was a clever way to make the game world seem larger, along with the omnipresent mist (which I got rid of asap). But even though the mountain ranges are barriers that restrict your sight across the province, the peaks are also populated with monsters. So Beth must have been expecting people to use levitation to get up on top of them.

mALX: The Ready pic is that same sea along the northern coast of Skyrim. It is just a bit to the east. So you could follow it to Skyland.

Morrowind spells don't have a timer showing how long they have left. So Levitation spells and potions end with no warning. So one moment you are walking on air. The next you are plummeting to your death. If you are quick, you can recast your levitate spell or drink another potion. If not, that is what the quickload key is for! You can recast or drink another potion before you fall of course. You just have to guess when to do it, and have the magicka of course. laugh.gif Persephone found a pair of boots of levitation early on, which she has kept to use for the rest of the game. It makes life a lot easier.
