Last weekend now before The Annual Christmas Ogre Hunt In Pale Pass, or TACOHIPP for short biggrin.gif

I'm looking forward to hearing Lothie's final tooth count from his hunt. biggrin.gif

I'm looking forward to hearing Lothie's final tooth count from his hunt. biggrin.gif

And that shall be revealed!

Because Lothran is now in Pale Pass. He left in the early morning and headed towards Serpent's Trail. His weapons the same as always; Goldbrand, bow and arrow and of course Snowflake.
While his trusty Spriggan took care of the Cavebosses inside the trail, Snowflake took care of the ogres on the way to the old Akaviri fort. Together with the specially made weakness spell, Snowflake does wonders!

On top of the fort, the tent is now raised. As Lothran stands on the very top of the ruin, overlooking the valley, he can sense a decade's worth of hunting inside of him. He takes one more look at his equipment to make sure it's all in order.

The hunt can begin.
Renee
It's a good thing Lothran is in TES IV and not TES III. Just imagine all the places he'd go into year after year, which have been emptied of inhabitants way back in 2007 or whatever. But habit keeps him coming back to satiate his constant (yet predictable) wanderlust.

Kidding. It's weird to read about him going into Pale Pass. Didn't we just read this? Yes we did, but last time was an entire year ago. blink.gif sad.gif

I agree! Lothran doing this in Morrowind wouldn't be half as much fun due to no one moving back in after he cleared an area tongue.gif

Tyme flies by so fast, innit? kvleft.gif

--------------------------

Today Lothran made his first sweep of Pale Pass. Many ogres were found and slayed using all weaponry available. As evening came around, Lothran withdrew back to the fort. Or rather the ice right beneath it. When contemplating the recent events something suddenly caught his eye; movements in the distance! There was at least one ogre left!

Lothran drew his bow and on the second attempt, he hit the beast. As it came down the snowy slopes looking for revenge, Lothran readied Snowflake and made sure the preparing spell was at hand. One step forward and one step back, allowing the ogre to hit and miss. Before it could charge up another blow, Lothran hit it with the spell which among other things paralyzed it, and then Snowflake made short work of it. Another tooth to the collection.

By this time it had grown darker and it was time to go back to the tent on the secured ledge at the very top of the ruin where no ogre could make its way. If indeed any is left. The rest of the evening was nice and pleasant. It was mostly spent counting teeth and looking at the Flawless Rubys found in Serpent's Trail as well as putting a Topaz in the chest with the other standard gems.

It's been one whole year since Lothran was in Pale Pass and we still love coming here. Tomorrow is another day and I think another sweep is in order wink.gif
Lopov
It's the annual Ogre Sweep in Pale Pass! At least they have their "peace" every other day in the year. wink.gif

Yep, and now when another batch move in they will be safe because Lothran has left the building Pale Pass.

He woke up early and dismantled his tent. Pretty easy since it's a summoned tent. Then he made his way down the old fort and walked along the path towards Serpent's Trail, only stopping for a brief moment to take in the feel of Pale Pass and its secludedness. It really is a peaceful place. Well, for some it is.. wink.gif

When emerging from the Trail, Lothran was not ready to go back to Bruma. Truth be told, he did want to stay in Pale Pass for a day or two more. But the Christmas hunt was over and he had to leave, it's just how it is. Also, he has other duties to attend to and he can't be slacking on the job.
So when coming back out to Jeralls, Lothran went westward up into the mountains and onto a shelf where he could be alone for just awhile longer. There, he counted the ogre teeth of this years hunt. You wanna know how many? Have a guess and take a look in the spoiler tag biggrin.gif

Acadian
Grats to Lothran on another successful annual Pale Pass Ogre Hunt! tongue.gif
mirocu
Thanks! Did you guess it right, btw? biggrin.gif

Lothran is now back in Bruma and has enjoyed an afternoon shopping for ingredients and recharging his gear. Then he visited both Jerall View and Olav's Tap and Tack but decided to call it an early night after Ongar couldn't stop nicking food, prompting the guards to come and cut him down tongue.gif

Speaking of which, I think it's time for good ole Lothie to don the guard armor and perform his duty over new year!
mirocu
Lothran has now taken to the streets. Wearing his official Bruma guard uniform he's determined to keep the citizens safe during new years. He's currently stationed by the brazier at Hammer and Axe and has already performed no less than two round the city patrols.
Acadian
Alas, I couldn't remember enough about Pale Pass and its ogres to conjure a good guess on teeth numbers.

Ahhhh, I feel safer already knowing Lothie's on duty. All is right in northern Cyrodiil. happy.gif

Yup. Lothran is standing guard at the North gate as usual, alone for the time being. There will be another one later but for now it's up to Lothie to protect the gate. It's night, it's cold, and it's perfect happy.gif

mirocu
Night's been quiet and Lothran is now back in the barracks. A fellow guard came and took his place early in the morning which was much appreciated. Lothran took the opportunity to first visit the prisoner and give him some more food, after all it's New Years.

Another patrol is coming right up with the following stationing by Hammer and Axe as usual.
mirocu
Late morning today, Lothran finally got off his shift. He's been patrolling Bruma and guarding the North gate since just before New Year's and it's now time for him to get back to his usual routines. He has yet to visit the very western parts of the Jeralls as well as Azura's shrine, but I think first order of business will be to clear out Plundered Mine and Capstone Cave. In that order biggrin.gif
Renee
Really? Lothran got a job as a guard? What mod is that?

Kidding. That sounds great as Bruma now has a certified adventurer on their premises 24/7. Until March or April, at least. Then what'll they do? mellow.gif

mirocu
Then they just have Honmund, and all he does is collect Clouded Funnel Cap caps biggrin.gif

Today was a milestone. O perhaps yesterday, because it was then Lothran finally unearthed his 100th gold nugget! ohmy.gif

After being shipwrecked we've been spending our time exploring the Valenwood Islands. Truly a tropical resort. It's just that we don't know how to get back to the mainland.
Renee
That's fun. When I return to Lady Saga's game she will go to Valenwood. Turns out Renee Gade III can't go there, because I discovered Valenwood conflicts with The Elder Council. indifferent.gif

I did some gaming with Joan of Arkay yesterday. Her game is on Xbox and it's just easy to get into and not worry about mod / PC stuff at all. Joan spent the entire time in Battlehorn Castle though, and seemed unmotivated to go on any adventures. It happens sometimes. smile.gif I took some pictures but forgot to post them to imgur.

Kinda like Lothran's winter hibernation laugh.gif

-------------------

Well, it's no surprise that female Khajiit bandits likes Lothran. They rarely attack him and can often be smooth-talked into liking him even more. Two more just recently; one outside Capstone Cave and one at the hidden camp on the way to Azura's shrine.

I don't know why this is, but it's kinda fun laugh.gif

Well, yes it is. Hope that's ok? Not sure how to introduce this guy so I just threw it out there. This is a nine year old character who completed the MainQuest back in 2010. I resurrected Jandaga (more of a title than a name one, of his companions refers to him as Feayche) in 2017 to play some quest mods I always load but never seem to play through.

His story is posted elsewhere and may be full of spoilers and pics.

Is he and his relationship with his companions interesting? I don't know. Renee has read some maybe she can tell.

Of course! I have mods too although none that really is noticeable. They're more like fixes the game over-looked, like not having a fireplace in your Bruma house, deleting spells etc.

Well, if there's a story you want to share with us, share it. I'm sure my posts aren't that interesting anymore, seeing how I play virtually the same every year which my posts obviously reflects. But I still post smile.gif

Yes, mods are always fine. Otherwise *gulp* I'd be in some serious trouble. indifferent.gif Kidding.

Good to see you're telling you're telling your CoC's stories here. You have done quite a few adventures with Feayche's tales, the ones I'm most familiar with dealt with Vampire Hunting, which my Renee Gade III did as well awhile back.

Hope you are able to insert some pics as well!

Working on the pics. I wasn't able to copy & paste my Word doc with hyperlinks so until I figure out a best method I'll put them in the screenshot thread.
A few of his best adventures he's completed; Adense Epic Dungeon (a great one), Lost Spires (fits my character's story so well), and please don't laugh Hentai Mania II (it's different but with just a little thought it fits, especially at the end). Then there's The Stranded Light, really, really good, a bunch of interrelated quests that can't do all at once. I'm somewhere in the middle of it.

I think they are, and am glad you are posting here, as well as in the new Beth forums. Each forum has its pluses, for sure. I actually like the new Beth forums' LIKE system for instance, something which wouldn't really work here at Chorrol.

The thing about Feayche's tales are most of them involve mods which I haven't gotten involved with, such as Lost Spires, and so I get curious to see what these adventures are like, because chances are I won't be able to get to them myself, because I'm involved with a bunch of other games (Morrowind, Skyrim, ESO, even Sims 3)

WHAT?? Of course they are. Well, to put it more succinctly, I tend to get rather fascinated with mirocu / Lothran, simply because you choose to focus on just one character for so long. I certainly could not do this even if somebody paid me. It's sort of amazing, to be honest.

And over the years, I've been in the habit of digging for psychological reasons why somebody would not get at least curious about hitting that NEW button more than once. indifferent.gif And I found an old post you made in the old Beth forums, in which you said something like "I've only got this one life to live.." and so you see Lothran in sort of the same way. That you're approaching his gameworld from that perspective. Like HE is the only one, because we all only have just one life to live.

Still though... there's that NEW button. Just waiting to be pressed a second time.... biggrin.gif

mirocu
Today, on the 1800th day since he escaped from his prison cell, Lothran decided to make some potions. Only to discover that he was low on flax again. Seriously, we've had this problem before! I think it's because at one point he had hundreds of samples so we may have gotten a bit lazy about collecting more.

Anyway, most potions could be made but his two favourite poisons have to wait until next winter. Luckily there's plenty of flax in Skingrad County which we always visit around Easter time.
Renee
Yes there's so much flax, you can make plenty of potions yet still have dozens of flax leftover. I sometimes will simply hotkey this flax, for characters who use a lot of magic. bluewizardsmile.gif

Second Seed 3, Third Era Year 435

IPB Image

Joan of Arkay leaves Ninendava, supposed location of an Ayelid statue. She leaves empty-handed though, and disappointed. Because there's one door in there which is locked with a 4-tumbler, and though she has been studying how to open locks via magic, she can only do so on Easy 2-tumblers.

So now she's in the Imperial City. Maybe somebody sells a scroll that'll open 4-tumbler locks. If not, she'll just have to buy every lockpick from Shady Sam.

mirocu
I'm not sure that Lothran has been to Ninendava. It's right on the border between winterland and summerland and thus he stays away at all times; don't want summer in winter or winter in summer wink.gif

But we might go there and have a looksie now.
Renee
Lothran has never done any of Umbacano's quests? Actually I already know the answer! He's delivered a couple Ayleid statues, but has kept the rest for himself, right?

Second Seed 13, Year 435: Well Joan of Arkay has given up on Ninendava for now. She's headed toward Cheydinhal next, to investigate Fanacas. A lot has happened. She stopped in the hamlet of Aleswell for instance, and although somebody had already managed to save the invisible residents of Aleswell a couple years' prior, Ancotar was back to his old tricks again. So Joanie took the initiative to speak to Ancotar for the zillionth time.

She also joined the Mages Guild, just for its resources. Money can be hard to come by for a budding adventurer, and all that.
Acadian
Darn that pesky mage at Aleswell! Good luck to Joan in her travels. tongue.gif
mirocu
Joining the Mages Guild is never a bad thing!

After another trekk westwards to slay ogres and whatever Daedra that resides at the turning point past Hermaeus Mora's shrine, Lothran has yet again cleared out Plundered Mine and will next session go east to Silver Tooth Mine.

Gotta keep those trails vermin free!
Lopov
Those goblins never learn a lesson, they always come back.

Those goblins never learn a lesson, they always come back.

They sure do, and it's so much fun making them infight. It always happens down in the final room of Plundered Mine biggrin.gif

And now Silver Tooth Cave is also cleared out yet again. This time Lothran decided to go more gung-ho than usual resulting in him contracting Chill from a zombie. This never happens as his Spriggan takes care of things normally. No biggie though, a combined Cure Disease/Poison spell took care of it nicely.

And now Lothran has spent a night at Azura's shrine and is ready to head home again to recharge his weapons. Oh, and in Silver Tooth, his Blunt skill increased one point!
mirocu
Lothran has now quit his one week patrol assignment of Bruma. Early in the morning he removed his gear and once again donned his usual attire and headed out into the mountains.
Acadian
Where is the Nordic Dunmer Warlock headed next? I confess vagueness on that part of his annual itinerary.
mirocu
A bit vague maybe, but nothing more Tamriel-shattering than continue wandering the Jeralls and hunt ogres biggrin.gif
mirocu
Once again Lothran has completed a full road patrol of the Jerall Mountain region and is now back in Bruma.

West proved to have restocked on ogres and bandits as well as a spider daedra at the turning point. East had a few ogres too and Silver Tooth Mine was yet again full of goblins.

"Was" being key here cool.gif
Acadian
As long as those goblins and ogres keep respawning, there will always be a need for Lothran in Cyrodiil. tongue.gif
macole
I'd like to lend a hand but I'm a bit tied up in Valenwood at the moment.
mirocu
Lothran sends his thanks regardless biggrin.gif

It's time to wrap things up now. Another season in Bruma and the Jerall Mountains is nearly over and Lothran has begun making his usual arrangements. Chorrol is waiting for him and as is tradition, that's where he'll go first when leaving his winter wonder land.

But before that can happen, some last things must be done. Can't leave before a few more evenings at Olav's! And this particular evening had Salomon Geonette as a guest. He's usually seen very early on in the winter season but now he showed up at the very end instead. Also, we did see Algot the Northener a couple of weeks ago at Jerall View. Another Imperial City resident who likes to come by for an ale or two biggrin.gif
mirocu
No snow? huh.gif

Lothran was visiting Fjotreid in his smithy and upon exiting his shop, it had stopped snowing. Just like that. Ever since he got to Bruma in late November the snow has been coming down perpetually. But now, nothing. Still a chilly wind but the sky was clear. In Lothran's mind there was no doubt anymore; spring has come and it was yet again time to leave the snowy mountains.

Chorrol awaits.
Acadian
Springtime in Cyrodiil is now official! tongue.gif
mirocu
Leaving Bruma

Era: 3
Year: 438
Day: 1810

Early in the morning Lothran went through the East gate for the last time this season. Unusual, really, considering he has left Bruma through the North gate now for many years and taken the route going passed Applegate. Now he went down the mountains the same way he always comes up, passing Plundered Mine and taking the crossroad onto the Orange Road towards Chorrol instead. It's a really pleasant road and Lothran fully enjoyed the sounds of the forest, the slightly warmer breeze and the magnificent view over the Imperial City now that the sky was clear and the sun was up.

The Dunmer is currently resting by a patch of Bergamot plants and he will reach Chorrol next session.

Yes indeed; spring is officially here! biggrin.gif
Acadian
That is a beautiful walk down from Bruma toward the IC. Ask Lothie to pick some bergamot for Buffy. tongue.gif
Renee
Good lord, 1810 days! Yeah, I was wondering about that. Funny how it's Year 438, 3rd era in Lothran's world. I usually consider Year 435 to be the final year of the 3rd Era.

Does he travel on horseback, or on foot?

Renee
Buffy is in Cyrodiil! Right now! Read all about her tales in Buffy Book III!

Keeping horses alive in the vanilla game (and your game is pretty close to vanilla if I'm not mistaken) is tough. Because the enemies almost always head straight for the horse instead of our character. mad.gif Even if our character is standing closer to the enemy.

One of the horse mods I use corrects this I think Horse Commands might do this. And if not Horse Commands, something else I've got corrects this, because it's something I always found annoying. I also add several hundred extra hitpoints to character horses via the console. It makes no sense to me that our characters can potentially have more health than a thousand+ pound horse.

Then again, Lothran is pretty set in his ways by now. But that's the path I've taken in my gameworld.
