Saga is in Skingrad. She brought Modryn Oreyn with her but Maglir is nowhere to be found. ohmy.gif I figured he would have returned here by now (safe and sound).

Last we saw him, Saga had told him to 'collect ingredients nearby', and this was somewhere up in the Great Forest, days or maybe even weeks ago. So we have no idea where is he is. I know we can just use the console to send him back to Skingrad (safe and sound), but I'm kinda tempted to find the man by going up to the Hackdirt area where he wa last seen. laugh.gif
mirocu
I was wrong, Lothran wasn´t in Skingrad but down by the Gold Coast and is slowly working his way back to Anvil smile.gif
Renee
Lady Saga camped outside of Rock Bottom Cave. When she woke up, she found Bralsa Anderen in her bed! cool.gif Although I am RPing it a certain way, it's odd because the shrine Bralsa is supposed to stand by is nowhere near the area where Saga camped.

She really must have wanted a bed, and a fellow elf to share it with. sleep.gif
Grits
Renee, how funny to find Bralsa had invited herself to spend the night. I wonder where Maglir went.

mirocu, that’s where Lildereth and Jerric are headed. They’ll keep an eye out for a white-haired Dunmer on the road. smile.gif

Lildereth got Jerric’s gear repaired in the ancient city of Rimmen. They didn’t hang around there for long, though. Lil headed up the hill to show Jerric the views of Leyawiin and Bravil. Under that tree on top of the hill is just about as happy as she’s ever been. She had just achieved Apprentice level in both Restoration and Destruction (leopard attack), but I doubt that had anything to do with it.

Possibly she was still in a good mood from the extended frolic in the waterfalls outside Rimmen. There was an Argonian swimming around in one of the pools, and she swam right up to chat with him. When she feels safe she can be quite playful.

They also found a shrine to Khenarthi, the Khajiit aspect of Kynareth. Though Jerric has made a commitment to Akatosh he will always be Kyne’s child. Lil and Jerric agreed that the Khajiit picked a pretty good spot for her (or his to the Khajiit) statue.

They are presently on a hillside overlooking Silorn having slightly missed their path. Lil did some community pruning in Rimmen and filled her alchemy pouch with nightshade. Jerric would like to pick up some more flax seeds. I expect he’ll use that excuse to poke around the ruin.
Acadian
Renee, that's funny about Bralsa!

Grits, Rimmen looks great! I'm glad that Illiana was able to add it to her 2014 version of the mod. smile.gif
Renee
Is that the Elsweyr province? It's looking really good. I love how it includes Cyrodiil in the background, that really adds so much. That swim near the waterfall sounds fun.

I have no idea where Maglir is. laugh.gif Last we saw him, he was just north of Hackdirt. Saga told him to go pick some ingredients and the man just vanished. I am tempted to use the console to dial him up, but I kinda want to search the Hackdirt area first. It'll be hilarious if he comes running up with like a thousand steel entomas or something! laugh.gif
mirocu
Can you really give him orders or is it imagination? Since nowadays you use mods I have to ask.. tongue.gif
Grits
Yep, they were standing in Illiana’s Elsweyr mod for those screens.

The only issue I’ve seen so far in the new part is a missing sign texture. Lil and Jerric stopped in at the Rimmen Mages Guild, Merchants Guild, and market area, but they didn’t spend the night or talk to every NPC. Once the weather cleared up they both wanted to get going.
Acadian
mirocu, I don't want to speak for Renee, but vanilla followers will not gather ingredients without mods. So I suspect she is using a follower/recruiting mod.

I have the Companion Share and Recruit (CSR) mod. In it you can give followers some basic orders that include gathering ingredients. I tried it once, but got nervous as the follower began ranging farther and farther away as they frantically gathered ingredients. I was afraid of how far afield they might go so Buffy chased after them and told them to resume following instead.

What we mostly use CSR for is for going on outings with pals. Like dinner with a guildmate, hunting with Daenlin, or even escorting Sir Mazoga and her squire from where they live at Cloud Ruler Temple to wherever they need to go and back.

Buffy crossed the border northbound at Pale Pass and has been wandering the tundra since, gradually figuring out how to survive.
mirocu
That CSR mod sounds nifty, even to the point where I *might* consider getting it! tongue.gif

Oh, Buffy. Couldn´t you have waited until Lothran was up there? Why go there now?? tongue.gif laugh.gif
Grits
Lildereth and Jerric made it back to Anvil safe and sound. Lil got their stuff unpacked and loot sold in record time. It’s unclear what she intends to do next, but she needs some alone time. I left her sitting happily by herself on the porch of Benirus Manor watching the rain. smile.gif
Renee
Ahh, that sounds nice, Gritsy. Sitting watching the rain.

mirocu: CSR gives us three 'wait' options, we can tell our follower(s) to Wait Here, Harvest Ingredients, or Make Yourself at Home. I won't spoil what these three do, but the second one (Harvest) is what Saga told Maglir to do, last time she saw him.

There was one other time she told him to do this. This was at that campsite just south of Bravil (the one on the small island). She told him to Harvest Ingredients and then went dungeon-diving in the Ayleid ruin there. Well, she spends hours looting the ruins, comes back to surface, and Maglir is nowhere to be found. ohmy.gif She went to sleep, woke up the next morning. No Maglir.

It was funny because as she's getting on her horse, that's when Maglir comes running up. laugh.gif We checked his inventory and there was 113 bergamot seeds, 83 clouded funnel caps, and so on. I laughed so hard! laugh.gif A lot of the things he picked are useless to her!

Heh heh, clever.

Lothran has joined Jerric and Lil in Anvil and told them all about the fun hunt and other things he and Buffy has done in the beautiful county happy.gif

Aww, that’s nice mirocu! It’s fun to visit with friends. happy.gif

Kanet is making her way back to the IC via the Green Road. She witnessed the death of fellow Dunmer Alval Uvani at dawn. He fell battling a will-o-wisp. Kanet was unmoved by the event. He had just walked past her and threatened to turn her bones to ash. She took his key and enchanted dagger. He probably has a house somewhere with lots of stuff he won’t need any more. She plans to find it.

She’s taking a breakfast break at the Faregyl Inn. This trip has introduced her to a number of new road critters. Thankfully her enchanted bow Turn is still up to the task, but her nerves are wrecked. One wisp managed to throw a curse on her before she got the last shot in. The chapel blessings are out of her reach due to her lifestyle. (“Repent your crimes, wicked one!”) Hopefully the nearby wayshrine won’t be as wise to her ways.
Acadian
Ding dong, the wicked Alval is dead! IPB Image

I don't blame Kanet one bit for feeling no remorse. When he threatens Buffy, she just whacks a demoralize spell on him and giggles as he runs away in terror - it never gets old. But if a wisp did kill him, she'd thank the wisp. wink.gif
ghastley
It always seems to be a bear that gets him in my games. Usually as I follow him north from Bravil waiting for it to happen. biggrin.gif

Exactly what happened in Lothran´s game too! He was walking south from Bravil when he met Alval by that little peninsula. He made a threat and they both continued on their way. I think there was sound of fighting a few moments later but when Lothran got to where Alval was he was dead and there was nothing around that could have done it! blink.gif

No tear was shed though, and no console magic was performed.. wink.gif

I've just been back at the Imperial City prison, correcting an issue I've been having with Tarvyn. I'd set him up to do too much, spreading him too thin, and a couple of shifts in his story had meant that really couldn't work anymore. So I've restarted him, kept as close to the original run as I could, but now he has a more focused, and more appropriate, in-game representation. Should be much more comfortable with him now.

And I'll be back at the prison later today, or early tomorrow, to welcome back an old friend...
mirocu
A little fine-tuning then, eh? biggrin.gif

I hope it´ll work out now goodjob.gif
Callidus Thorn
Not so much fine-tuning as streamlining and a healthy dose of common sense. I'd originally set Tarvyn up to use destruction, marksman, blade, illusion, and conjuration, and those are just the ones he'd use offensively. It was just too much, and pretty crazy looking back. Now he's a balance of stealth and magic, favouring stealth ever so slightly.

And later on Sal will be returning to Cyrodiil, again, this time as a Shadowmage.
mirocu
Too much? Crazy? Lothran uses all of that and then some! biggrin.gif

Yeah, but Lothran isn't DiD. That setup was going to get Tarvyn killed, sooner rather than later. And I just wasn't comfortable with him set up from the start for so much, two thirds of him wouldn't really be there until all those skills were in the 50s at least.

Anyway, back on topic:

Hello, Old Friend
Acadian
Welcome back to Sal the Salamander! tongue.gif
Grits
Welcome back to Sal (I love his head spines!) and the trimmed down Tarvyn. smile.gif

I’ve been doing some maintenance with my crew’s games. All is well again. And they are all ready for it to be their turn to play. ohmy.gif

Kanet is considering a walk back to Bravil. She wonders how Jared Ice-Veins is faring in the Shivering Isles.

Renee
Callidus Thorn: I am just glad you've chosen not to delete Tarvyn altogether. This shows progress with your habit of restartitis, at least.
Rihanae
So Lissa is no more, and I'm devastated. Thanks to a friends clumsiness with my computer, it got a virus, which was a virus strong enough to completely wipe the majority of my Oblivion data. I've spent the past few days re-installing the game and my mods, which was a task!

As saves were gone, that meant all my progress with Lissa has gone.

But instead of creating Lissa.4 I decided to let her rest for a while. I can't deal with rushing through her game to catch up on almost half a years worth of gameplay, so I have rolled a new toon.

Meet, Eden. Half Redguard, half Breton. Skilled in Blade, Heavy Armor and Alteration. I don't know much about her yet, but I do know some of her back story. She is 16 years old and was orphaned, left to be raised on the waterfront district. There is a rumor going round that she was actually stolen from her mother, and then dumped, but she has no evidence of that. However, if it does turn out to be true, this means her mother is still most likely in Cyrodiil.

I know she is somewhat cold initially, very quiet and it was initially quite hard for me to get into her head, but she is very kind and loving when it comes to her best friend/surrogate sister Feena, who is (seriously) a race confused Argonian. She longs to be human, so dresses and acts like one.

I started Eden's game about a month after she escapes from prison, and I do not know what quest line (if any) her path will lead her.

But yeah, the loss of my wonderful and boisterous companion will be felt for a long time, and heck, one day I might just take the plunge and bring Lissa back. But for now I will welcome Eden (and Feena) into my ample bosom.
Acadian
Aww, sorry you lost the data on Lissa. Given how you feel, you are wise to let her rest for a time. Likely, there will come a time when you want to play her again, then it will be a joy to start her all over again at level 1.

In the meantime, welcome to Eden! She seems lovely. And what a clever idea for Feena - an Argonian who longs to be human. Just don't let her cut her tail off or anything. tongue.gif
Rihanae
Thank you smile.gif I will miss Lissa terribly, but, as you say, it will be a joy to replay her when I have the patience to restart her.

And the idea for Feena came quite randomly. I knew Eden's companion would be a female Argonian, but when I went shopping for her she seemed to attract very human clothing, including a wig. I just figured that she had some issues, which I imagine will be explored over time.
SubRosa
Ouch! My condolences on Lissa.

Good luck with Eden. Funny, she does not look like a power mad supercomputer bent upon domination of the post-apocalyptic wasteland! wink.gif

mirocu
So sorry to hear about Lissa kvleft.gif All the things she did just gone.. sad.gif

But good luck with Eden! May she feel welcome and bring you lots o fun just like Lissa did! happy.gif
Grits
Yikes, I’m sorry about Lissa. It sounds like you have a good plan to restart her when the time is right as well as some new folks in the meantime. Welcome, Eden and Feena! smile.gif
Rihanae
Thank you mirocu and Grits! I've started a Lissa based role play in the roleplay section to try and keep her around for a while haha.

I'm enjoying spending time with Eden and Feena. I've learnt a lot with them, mostly about the fundament of their friendship. Eden is very careless, usually quite ignorant of the importance of situations, so Feena very much keeps her from recklessness. I feel Feena is older than she is letting on, and i am convinced that there is more to her than just race confusion. Much, much more.
Renee
Yeah that sounds absolutely frightening, Rihanae. Sheesus. I'm not letting anybody use my computers, except if I'm sitting right here watching. blink.gif I actually wouldn't mind having to build my game from scratch (mods and all) but losing saves is horrible.

I think you did the right thing, moving on from Lissa and rolling a new toon. I'd do the same. It wouldn't feel right starting somebody all over from the beginning. You have all those first-experience moments, that are impossible to capture again.

So glad you rolled a new toon at least. smile.gif

Lady Saga is trying to find Malada. She has been traveling with Maglir and Modryn Oreyn, both of whom remind Saga that she should join the Fighter's Guild. laugh.gif Right now, this trio of elves is somewhere in the Valus Mountains. We think Malada is somewhere to the south.

Saga found an Ayleid ruin I'm pretty sure we've never found before called Hame. Its name is so unusual, actually I know we've never been there. The trip through the Valus has been taking days. Saga (like many adventurers) can't resist checking out new places. So it's slow going. She's run out of 'real' food, so she's constantly eating mushrooms, nectars, flowers, seeds, roots (etc.) I imagine Modryn and Maglir don't really know what to make of this.

Maglir is good with magic, so he usually comes along with Saga during dungeon dives, while Modryn winds up guarding the horse. viking.gif
Acadian
Rihanae, glad you're enjoying Eden and Feena.

Renee, the vision of Saga herding her elves around made me chuckle. tongue.gif
mirocu
Yeah, it´s nice that Rihanae has made a new CHARACTER. Sometimes it can be the best thing to do when disaster strikes. So again, congrats on your new CHARACTER, Rihanae!

wink.gif laugh.gif

And nice to se Saga again, btw. I hope she doesn´t eat the kind of shrooms they did back in the 60s... biggrin.gif
Renee
Character? What does that word mean? Hmm. Time for a trip to dictionary.com, that's a new one for me.

I think a character is like a toon, just not as hip and cool. wink.gif
Rihanae
Haha I hate calling my girls characters. It sounds so impersonal haha. I much prefer calling them my companions haha.

Sounds like Saga is a risk taker with her foresty eating habits, Renee! Those mushrooms could be anything wink.gif haha

I don't think I'll update too much on Eden and Feena's progress here as I will be starting a fanfic following their adventures this week. The interesting thing is though that although I am playing Eden's game, it is very much both her and Feena's story, it is just Eden that I 'control'. The story will follow both of them.

Saying that, although I haven't spent much time with them as studying has gotten most of my attention (I'm studying to become a probation worker/parole officer, so the studying is quite intensive haha) I have gotten to know the girls, even as far as discovering a LOT about Feena's back story and why she is the way she is. I am dying to tell you Guys, but I will save it for the fanfic.
Renee
Wow, you're gonna be an officer? That's interesting. Good luck with that. So in a way, playing Oblivion (and Fallout) must be one heck of a release from reality for you, huh? I don't consider my job to be as 'real' as what you're aiming for, but I still need to game to escape reality for awhile.

It's 11:42 am on Turdas, Morning Star 31 when Lady Saga and her dual-elf companions finally see signs of civilization. It's been days. They are currently approaching Leyawiin after nearly a week of roughing it.

A few hours before, the trio of elves came upon Black Dog Camp, which was inhabited by just one bandit. There was 5 ears of corn and one sweetroll for Saga to eat (finally some real food) but since she's vegetarian, Modryn and Maglir wound up splitting some meat stored in one of the bandit's sacks. I imagine they were REALLY glad to finally have some sustenance, and are ecstatic to be approaching Leyawiin.

Kahreem just arrived in Pell's Gate wearing a Bravil Guard's outfit, that is legally his; he did not steal it. When he was in Bravil I got the sense he wanted to break into the castle's guard barracks and steal some armor. What a great disguise for him! laugh.gif But I also got the sense that he wants to get to Skingrad, he's had it with Bravil.

Anyways, he leaves Bravil, steals a horse in plain sight, resists arrest, so the guy standing guard gives chase. Several hundred feet north, a troll shows up, and starts chasing Kahreem. He's never seen one of these before. ohmy.gif He noticed the troll was keeping up with his horse, there'd be no way to avoid it, so he came up with a plan to turn around, and then start circling the guard. Sure enough, his plan worked. The troll began attacking the guard instead of the Redguard.

He found a boulder he could safely jump his horse upon, and this meant the guard was now getting pummeled by the troll. These guards in the vanilla game...they're all about capturing the thief, they have no idea how to defend themselves. So the guard gets killed within 30 seconds, and now Kahreem decides to start attacking the troll. Problem is, he's not that good with combat.

He's been carrying one of those pirate swords instead of his usual Sewer Club, and his skill with Blade is only 16, his skill with Block is only 19. Probably both of these skills would be higher if he didn't lose stats after staying in jail. Anyways, he attacks the troll, but this is a losing battle. He has no idea they regenerate health. He could have ridden away at that moment but he REALLY wanted that guard's armor. So what he does is get back on his horse, and then rides towards Anutwyl, the ruin outside of Bravil.

Sure enough, there were a couple of imps there, so the troll starts attacking the imps! laugh.gif This allows my Redguard to ride away at full speed. Back to the dead guard, where he manages to take gauntlets, helmet, and boots. viking.gif So that'll be really cool. When he makes it to Skingrad, he'll have yet another disguise to hide behind.

mirocu
He´ll be an Englishman Bravil guard in New York Skingrad! laugh.gif

YEah, I can't wait. The roleplay & story's gonna be intense! .. For two reasons (1) the questline itself, and (2) Skingrad is his old stomping grounds. The West Weald. He hasn't been there since I started his story long ago.
mirocu
Lothran has wandered from Anvil to the Imperial City Waterfront via Skingrad and Pell´s Gate without spending any length of time in any of those places. He needs to put his show on the road and stop staying for so long in each town like he does when he´s in Bruma. Now is the time for re-exploring the countryside, goshdarnit! laugh.gif

After a while in the capital city for shopping and whatnot, Bravil is up next. Nice woods along the way with lots o things to either fight or collect biggrin.gif
Acadian
Lothran the wandering elf!

Buffy has the opposite situation. Moss never grows on her mare's hoofs, as they rarely stay in one city for more than a day. And with Cyrodiil, SI, Elsweyr and, now, Skyrim in the mix, she can be a hard elf to pin down in one place.

I love how Bravil sits so comfortably in the forest at river's edge. Ask Lothie to say hi to his and Buffy's mutual friends while in Bravil (Daenlin, Nilawen and all the dear mages in the guild there). smile.gif
