I must say I am really floored right now. My new dark elf, Sheeza Hawty, met some other gal and they totally bonded. It really is an incredible feeling when you meet some other gamer and both characters have similar ideals.

Because Sheeza was just walking around Davon's Watch, just kinda loitering around, when we noticed this other lady was following. Walking right behind Sheeza. And so Sheeza says "You walk in mysterious ways) and from then on it was like there was the instant bonding session going on! Hug_emoticon.gif Hard to explain I guess.

Nice, I hope you befriended each other, so you can meet in the future.

I love that! When "Pantsless" Calia first started out she was strictly a bow girl; and only wore a cuirass = never wore pants. A bunch of people started their characters doing the same thing after seeing her; it kind of started a fad for a while ... unfortunately; when you start out "Pantsless," there is only one way it can go after that:

Looks like a Friday party in Russia. laugh.gif

Yesterday while playing on the EU server in the Rift, a heated argument happened over the Chat. A player named Vanessa wrote, that soon after entering the region, a Lvl 5 player approached her and asked her, if she's familiar with the area, to which she responded, that it's her first time in the region. He asked her, if she can help him against enemies in some place, to which she agreed.

Lvl 5 player lead Vanessa led Vanessa to one of the locations, where you can be bitten by a werewolf, and there another player, presumably friend of the Lvl 5 guy, bit Vanessa as soon as she got to that place. Afterwards both of them ran away.

That's what Vanessa told us and she was wondering whether she should report those players or not. Some people wrote that she should chill out, that it's just a game, while some encouraged her to report them. I don't know what she did in the end, because she said that she'll think things over some more.

...

I'm with those that think that she shouldn't report them, it's just a game after all, besides from what I read, lycanthropy can be cured very easily, you don't need to do some complex quest. On the other hand I can imagine, that it was probably stressful for her and as she said, it ruined her yesterday's experience in ESO, because she didn't want to be infected with this disease, and was merely helping to play a seemingly newbie player.

@mALX: Sheeza also isn't wearing pants, you'll see when I post pictures. But It's also similar to when you are with Misa, and you once told me you tend to have frequent positive reactions from Asian gamers with Misa, for some reason. wub.gif

@Lopov: We did befriend each other, but then I think she unfriended me for some reason. She was quite an odd gamer. I'll tell you about it more in P ... uh, private messages. biggrin.gif

I would be pissed about that. Honestly I'd probably report them. But I'm also new to the game. Maybe when I'm more experienced I'd feel differently.

I always thought that the Players needed to have permission before they could bite/scratch another Player?

If not, then it sounds like some really in depth roleplay going on with the Werewolf Players = which might be cool for them; but not if they are genuinely attacking another Player without that person's knowledge or permission.

If true; then what they did actually IS against the rules of the game; and if she chooses to report the incident the Players who did that to her would probably face at least a temporary suspension.

Yes, when Japan first allowed ESO; for some reason Misa drew a huge number of young Japanese boys to her that were looking for any help she could give them. I had a blast for a while there = carrying around huge amounts of lockpicks and soul gems to give them; because they would come up to her everywhere she went, lol. I loved it; in fact it is one of the things that bonded me to being in a multiplayer game!

That is so strange that she befriended and then unfriended so quickly! SneakyBo Guild had someone do that just this past week = very assertive about making friends on there; then after three days just as suddenly dropped everyone as friends and quit all her Guilds that she had just joined = really strange!

I have a few friends on ESO that I play with that I have "known" online for over ten years from other Elder Scrolls sites and here at Chorrol; and there is one woman I met when I first started playing ESO five years ago that I became very close with = but other than that I've learned that (anywhere online in general) = people tend to come and go; so I just enjoy their company while they are there (and enjoy the memories of the fun we had together when they are gone).

She had a really odd personality, and maybe our meeting was a one-time affair. I have her screenname though. I'll try to see what's up.

To compare the experience to real-life though, it was just like meeting someone at a party or a concert, and omg we have so much in common!!! But I could tell also she had some weird behaviors. After awhile she began sneaking up on random NPCs and stabbing them, right in public! I think she was trying to impress me, but the problem was she kept getting in trouble for this. And then she'd disappear and apologize. "Hey, I just got caught, hold on!" Ha!

But that, to me (again) is the best part of the game: The randomness caused by other players. Most of them I ignore because they are always rush rush rush in such a huge hurry to be somewhere else. panic.gif But it's those rare encounters, random encounters which I'll definitely look forward.

If I got the conversation correctly, there are some zones in the Rift, where you can be bitten by werewolf players regardless of the permission, the permission is necessary only if you want to be intentionally bitten by some werewolf and you're not in this bite-without-permission zone. If you allow it, then you get bitten and you can become a werewolf as the disease progresses.

No, not exactly true. There is a specific area in each Alliance where NPC (not Player) werewolves will attack you and spread the disease at night and on certain phases of the moon. NPC werewolves (of course) do not need permission as they are game created.

I never knew where those zones were; but after five years of playing I recently stumbled into one of them and my main character caught the werewolf disease. She has not become a werewolf yet, and it has been over a month = but she is still carrying the disease.

But Players are totally different. A Player HAS to have permission to attack another Player for any reason; (except in Cyrodiil; because it is a PvP zone).

For a Player: there is a Shrine to Hircine somewhere in each Alliance where in that small given area in front of the Shrine a Werewolf Player can attack another Player in order to pass on the disease; but they still are supposed to either be asked by that person for the bite/scratch = or ask the person for their permission to do it.

That shrine is strictly so the Player can spread the disease; but the rules of the game still apply. Can't attack other Players without their permission; which is why when someone wants to duel with you: they have to ask first.

(and in dueling or in PvP zones like Cyrodiil and Battlegrounds = diseases like Werewolfism and Vampirism can't be spread to other Players)

She was in the Dark Brotherhood = Assassins. Probably practicing her techniques.

Okay, thanks. Maybe I got some things wrong from their conversation, because I didn't pay attention to it all times. Maybe that Lvl 5 player led Vanessa to some place, where he knew that the werewolf would be located and it attacked her. It still doesn't explain, why would she then talk about another member, who ran away together with Lvl 5 guy after biting her but...who knows, right?

Yeah; if it is true then it really would just be a problem between the woman and the two Players; but...it may be just a made up story to flame up the Chat Box, too.

The reason I'm skeptical = the zones those shrines are in are the higher to highest level Alliance zones; hard to imagine a level 5 Player navigating them to lead someone around anyway; and also: from what I've read and heard; a level 5 Player couldn't possibly pass the quest to become a full werewolf. They can catch the disease; but not transform or spread the disease.

It is possible that the Level 5 might have been working with the werewolf that bit her in order to lure someone to that guy; but it also could all be someone's made up story = who knows.

Laurie decided to spend some of our gold reserve on completing a couple of motifs, and also bought a few pages to do Master Writs. Then we looked at what other motifs we could complete and noticed Outlaw. So Bo spent two hours in Shark Teeth Grotto, and got one (duplicate) page, and then Blossom did the same and got nothing. We tried Bahrahra Gloom for a while, as we needed one from there, got another duplicate.

Finally Laurie herself went off to the WB, Captain Virindi Slave-Taker, to see if she could get the one page we needed from her. Nobody else turned up, so we attempted a solo, expecting a long grind and a possible stalemate. Laurie got whacked for 79k damage! Probably something we could have interrupted if we'd seen it coming, but that fight's a mess of lightning, and you're lucky if you can see the target, let alone the warnings. We may have to go back with a group.

Last time I tried that one she blew Dagoth-Malan under the ground; where he was stuck for the rest of the fight. He couldn't hit anything; but kept taking damage. Grrrrrr. I was in there with my friend Aussie; and lucky for us a couple others showed up too.

ghastley
Big mistake!

I let Blossom take a look at Forgemaster's Falls on the PTS. Orcish Longhouse, with a full-sized Orcish Forge. (and a boat to get there. She was supposed to furnish Mouroth Keep before she looked at other places.

This could get expensive.
Grits
I just took a look at that longhouse. I love it so much!

Urk! I have always wanted one of those Longhouses after seeing them in Betnikh!

Nightblade Lil (who is in the Ebonheart Pact) was sneaking around Cyrodiil tonight when she saw a really good commander talking in zone chat. She joined the group and had an amazing time. I had to drag her away so that I can get some sleep. She never did make her scouting mission, but she did a bunch of those kill ones. She wants to go back for one more skill level and get Caltrops. She doesn’t need it, but it’s pretty!
RaderOfTheLostArk
ENEMIES FALL LEFT AND RIGHT BEFORE ME.

Cincy and I have had the hot hand in Battlegrounds the past couple days. Even when we haven't won, we've performed very well, nabbing a bunch more achievements along the way. I'll put up screenshots of final scores and some more details in the PvP thread, but funny enough this whole streak looked like it was off to a disastrous start.

mALX and I were grouped up but for some reason, it did not take her with me into the first Battleground a couple days ago. To make matters worse, the match started with my team only having 1 other person while the other teams both had the maximum 4. We got into a fairly big hole by the time reinforcements arrived, but when they did we stormed back. I even finished off each member of one of the teams in rapid succession at one point, a span of roughly 5 seconds. This got me the QUADRUPLE KILL achievement. And at the end we won!

Then the game let mALX join me in the next match, which was Chaosball. We played together in a bunch more matches yesterday, and we were pretty successful. At the end of the night, I had racked up 300,000+ Alliance Points thanks to the Scroll of Pelinal's Ferocity XP and AP boost. This catapulted me to rank 17, Lieutenant. I'm hoping I can make it to rank 25, Colonel, by the end of Midyear Mayhem.

QUOTE(Grits @ Jan 21 2020, 09:31 PM) *

I just took a look at that longhouse. I love it so much!

I'm having second thoughts after looking for a door for it, and finding that there aren't any. I'd like it better if the longhouse came with a door, like the other building does. Blossom is arguing for the forge, of course.

I'll probably do a tour of all the longhouses, just to see if any others are door-less. Betnikh, Malabal Tor, Wrothgar. Am I forgetting any?

ETA: I did find one longhouse already in-game without a door at Bloodtoil Valley in Malabal Tor. All the others in that zone, plus the ones in Wrothgar, and Betnikh, have doors.

The lack of a door means that it's part of the exterior space, so any furnishings placed inside can poke through the walls or roof. With the slope, it means that chandeliers placed level with each other will have their chains either poking out, or not reaching the ceiling, and I like the Orc chandelier.
Grits
Oh, I didn’t think about the chandelier chains poking out the roof. I do like that there’s not a loading door, though.

Jerric and friends have had an awesome time with Mid-Year Mayhem, despite the time of year. Hard-won victories, grueling defenses, lessons learned, and defeats from bitter to hilarious. Mostly it was charging across the map and knocking on doors, of course. Nice to use up some soul gems. tongue.gif

I have been pleasantly surprised at the honorable conduct shown by opposing faction players in the PvE areas. I’ve even had some start attacking me and then quit.
ghastley
Unna went and got the Outlaw Heads page from Hew's Bane for Laurie, so she felt obliged to get the last page (gloves) for herself. That meant tanking Captain Virindi Slave-Taker, who's nasty and beats her off solo. She managed to kill her four times, and pick up a duplicate daggers page as well.

In one fight, though, she did a total of 807k damage to the Captain, who has just over 2M health. That presumably means either Combat Metrics is broken, or the others only managed the other 1.2M between them. There were at least three each time, so their output must have been pathetic. Laurie's average DPS was under 4k, so they were long fights, over five minutes. She lost taunt quite often, but I didn't see anyone else trying to hold her. I suspect an ice staff.

Well at least I won't be wanting to do that one on Friday. We completed the motif, and it's off the list.

I didn't think to save the cmx logs to review later, perhaps I should have done so.

I don't recall seeing any healing received from other players, except for a bit of AoE heal that they may have used on themselves. Most of her healing was her own regen. That makes me think none of them was actually a healer build, and Laurie was the only tank, even if there may have been a frost staff in use. Because we weren't grouped, I didn't have any data for how they were doing their damage, just the overall figures at the end.

What I think made it possible for Laurie to complete the fights for once, was that the other players provided the alternative targets for the Storm Barrage that usually killed her before. That gave her avenues of escape, as well as spreading the damage more ways. It does occur to me that the others' lack of dps may have been their need to avoid the attacks, or res themselves a lot. She was way too busy to look around, and without a group, had no HUD bars to guide her.

However, she'll find other WB's if she wants to do a solo. Not her fave for that.
Grits
ghastley, what a battle! I recall spending a lot of time running away from the Storm Barrage and waiting for my soul gem to kick in at that WB. Congrats on finishing the motif!
ghastley
Emboldened by her recent fights with the Captain, Laurie decided that she wanted to get herself the Mighty Chudan shoulders she's missing. We had four of the five key for the 50/50 chance between Velidreth and Chudan, so one more key would give her another go at it.

None of the crew has the Velidreth Helm. It was on sale at the Golden when we were on vacation in England, and away from the internet. We did catch the Mighty Chudan Helms, so there's more than one wanting shoulders.

Laurie probably set a world record for the slowest solo run of Spindleclutch I. I don;t think she was ever close to wiping, but her damage output was as low as 2k in some of the fights. And at the end we got our fifth set of Velidreth shoulders. sad.gif

After work on Wednesday the 12th, I decided to finally create my next toon. She had been on my mind for quite some time, but I needed to figure out her class, role, and most importantly, her name.

Thus my Argonian magsorc healer Rescues Guars in Trees was born in Elsweyr. She shares Julian's propensity for rescuing helpless animals, in her case guars. She came to Elsweyr to raise gold for her dream, to establish a guar rescue facility somewhere in Shadowfen. Not finding many backers in this southwestern portion of Tamriel, she decided to return to Mournhold to figure out her next step. However, she was sidetracked into Coldharbour. Upon her escape she discovered that she has a crew (Julian and company) who are willing to back her dream and even has a selection of guar-suitable property selected for her. Grateful for their trust in her, Rescues has decided to develop her skills and work her way across the Pact lands until she reaches Shadowfen.

Yesterday while working in Bleakrock, she met a fellow guildie and mage, Darnand Penoit. He invited her to join him on a couple of delves, and they tackled a nearby flesh atronach boss and speedily brought him down. Not bad for a couple of squishy mages! Then Rescues decided to join the Undaunted, and off they went for a fun romp with Gosse and Unna through Fungal Grotto I. She finished the afternoon with a couple more delves and world bosses with Darnand's friend Abiene in Rivenspire and Stonefalls.

Last night she saved the refugees from the invaders at Bleakrock, and drove more invaders off at Bal Foyen. She adored Humbled, which had already been somewhat furnished for her, and promised herself that she would return to complete the small garden. Thanks to all the guildies that helped her level up to 14! One more and she can do bar swapping! She is now in Davon's Watch, working on her trait research and training her little green guar.

She has such gorgeous markings and color! And she has done FG1 before level 15? Holy Cow!!! Did you say what Class of Healer she is? (Templar, Warden, etc). I tried to find it, and couldn't see if you mentioned it. Sounds like you will have a lot of fun with this one! A huge welcome to her!

She is Sorcerer Class, so Alise is no longer alone!

Blosson is trying to get the "Hero of Wrothgar" achievement, and she's done everything she can manage solo. All that remains is the World Bosses, of which she needs 4 in total. Two down, by doing the WB dailies given out by Arzorag. The problem with these is that next to nobody else is doing them, in the absence of an Orsinium event. So she's lurking near the location, waiting for help most of the time.

Yesterday, at Mad Urkazbur, there were two of us, regularly wiping, until another pair turned up and turned the tide. Today she went to the Accursed Nursery, and found she was alone. So if anyone is around (preferably with a tank or healer - or both) see if she's still waiting, will you?

We got help from a group of other daily-do'ers, and then Jerric arrived just as we finished. tongue.gif

Jerric and Blossom then followed them to another WB, so she's now got the four and is HERO OF WROTHGAR!!!!

She then had to go lie down somewhere quiet for a while, and we finished off Jerric's Level 50, Laurie's Rank 9 Undaunted (plus a few skyshards to get the required skill point for the Undaunted Mettle passive). And more skyshards for another Jerric, and Undaunted points for my youngsters, and ...

Screen-shots! I knew we forgot something!
Grits
Congrats to the Wrothgar Hero! That was a fun run. I forgot to take screenshots too, but I know that it happened because it took some doing to sort out the Jerrics’ inventory this evening. tongue.gif

Jerric put those skill points to immediate use on the last (for now) of his skill morphs. Now Darnand is reminding me that he needs to find lore books. He can’t let the Nord stay ahead of him in the reading department.

One problem we had on that run was the quest arrow frequently pointing to the wrong place. Especially ships inland, and North cave to the south, etc.

I had much the same on PTS last night, trying to find Lyris to start the Prologue quest. Quest arrow pointing to a location where she wasn't. However, this time I suspect the location was right, and she was just missing. It may be one of those situations where "she's in the Fighters Guild" means a specific one, but there's a quest arrow in each of the alternates, too.

Rader (as Evelona) and I (as Laurie) went and broke the stalemate Laurie had had with Sharpfang at the Bramblepatch, and then did all the other WB's in Deshaan, because we were on a roll. The Guar was a tough one, and the Abomination was reluctant to die, too, although he wasn't doing any real damage himself. For the others, we had passing assistance, so they're harder to judge.

Rader's machine didn't crash, despite his expectations, so maybe it's gotten over the 'flu, or whatever it was.

And again, I didn't get any screen-shots. I need to write that on a sticky note somewhere. biggrin.gif
Acadian
Haha! Acadian tried soloing Sharpfang long ago. Darn troll does little damage but regenerates health like a, well, troll. And Acadian is very much a pure tank - nearly unkillable but very low dps. The best either could do to each other was make each others' health bars wiggle betwee 97-100%. With no end in sight to the stalemate, Acadian gradually dragged Sharpfang back to where the troll reset and ran back to his spot. Glad you and Rader got some bosses done and also glad that Rader's puter may be doing better.

Valdi turned her first werewolf today! It was pretty neat. Luckily the other player knew where to go. I could not remember since the guy who turned Valdi brought her to the shrine, she didn’t have to find it on her own.

Ooh, congrats on the Wrothgar Hero! I don't think even one of my characters has that one yet!!!

Oh wow, that is awesome! Misa hasn't gone to the shrine yet; and no NPC has come up to her to start the quest yet either. It has been numerous months since I first saw her tainted blood; so ... pretty sure she will stay in this in-between place until I decide to push the issue.

Well, unfortunately, my computer went in for surgery yesterday evening. It did work out surprisingly when ghastley and I went WB hunting and when Grits was online talking with us, but I knew I couldn't keep it going for much longer. I checked the computer into Geek Squad at the Best Buy nearest me and--SURPRISE!--it got yet another BSOD as the guy who was taking the computer was checking it into their system. It's projected to be ready by Monday afternoon, but it could possibly be done before then. So we'll see what they have to say then.

Sadly, this means I won't be online until then. The silver lining is that I should be getting it right after the huge February 24th update ZOS is rolling out. I would like to get that last log-in reward, that Flame Atronach Bear, if I can just to have it.

Darnand (I am not a necromancer) Penoit and Cat Man Dhou did a couple of quick delves to warm up, and then attempted Darkshade II as a duo.

After 13 minutes of stalemate against the Transmuted Hive Lord, and several attempts to resurrect Darnand, we broke off, and he reset. For the next attempt, we called for help after about the same amount of time, and finally finished him. Total time for the second round was 19:25. CMD was doing nearly 2k DPS! On the other hand, he could self-heal (using Dark Cloak) as fast as he was damaged. What I never managed to work out was how to keep that heal up for both of us.

The others were easier, with the larger team, and we did finally emerge somewhat victorious, but VERY tired.
Grits
What a struggle! Darnand got plenty of rest lying prone under the bridge, yikes. When we got to that final room with the levers I remembered that I had been there before, and now I have finally realized why I didn’t recognize the first part of the dungeon. Someone had called for help when a player dropped out and brought Jerric in toward the end. I’m pretty sure that I’ll remember it now! panic.gif

ghastley, I hope your hands aren’t in braces today! Whew!!

I've been resting my hands doing Murkmire dailies for the double drops of the Tribal Armour Chests. Unna can do one at Root-whisper, and the rest just do the one in Lilmoth.

We have half of the Elder Argonian motif, and slightly fewer chapters of Dead-Water. And because a lot of those mean a run from the wayshrine to Tsofeer, we've gathered scuttleblooms on the way. Lots of Honey and Alkahest, but no tame one yet. Any idea on the drop rate? Spreads NEEDS one. biggrin.gif

The event crate has given us three Grave-stake, and one Voriplasm fragment, so when the max ticket limit hit, bought a couple more pieces of Voriplasm trap. Leveque would like to keep one in his basement.
ghastley
After the rest, it was back with Grits' crew doing FG1, as that was Maj's pledge for the day. I think we did it five times, with different combinations of characters. Apart from almost forgetting to pick up the pledge the first time, (MUST PICK UP THE PLEDGE!!!!), we successfully added another Velidreth shoulders to our collection. That's seven so far, without getting any Mighty Chudan at all.

I did get in a few runs of Murkmire dailies, and we got another piece of Grave Stake, because we want Voriplasm. There are enough days in the event to get the Voriplasm with tickets, so I'm not worried. The Hackwing Plumage is useful for Murkmire furnishings, and hard to get any other way. The only motif chapter from the reward crates was a duplicate of a duplicate.

But I enjoyed everything except the RNG. kvright.gif

Before I brought my computer in to Geek Squad again today, I brought Evelona out to Cyrodiil this morning and last night. She is not getting involved in the Alliance War (I am a Pact supporter, after all, and even though I am not strongly trying to roleplay it doesn't fit her character to get into it). She's just out to discover locations and clear delves in the Standard campaign since I have the Alliance Locked campaign set for Cincy. It was actually kind of interesting to see Cyrodiil through Covenant eyes...

Which brings me to my first question: Why the Oblivion does the Covenant get way cooler gate bases than the Pact? At least the northern Covenant gate. The layout looks way more interesting and an enchanter's tower is pretty cool from an aesthetic standpoint. The Pact gates look so lame and bland in comparison. I bet the ZOS designers for Cyrodiil are Covenant sympathizers!

Continuing on Cyrodiil brings me to my second question: Has anyone else run around in Cyrodiil the past few days and noticed map locations completely disappearing when you discover them? Both with and without the Destinations add-on, doesn't matter. Really strange and kind of annoying. It must be because of Update 25 because the timing is awfully convenient, but maybe it is something else.

Hoping to do some more quests for Dumbledore Aquilerios this evening. Does the Main Quest ever get you out and about Tamriel? So far, it's been limited to Daggerfall and Coldharbour.

Depends on what you mean by about. MQ is all Coldharbour-related, while the parallel Alliance one works through your alliance's zones in sequence. So after Glenumbra (Daggerfall's zone), you'll move on to Stormhaven (Wayrest's), and so on. The MQ was originally in step with your character level, and aimed at one MQ quest per zone. So you'd be doing Daughter of Giants at the same time as you start Daggerfall, then Chasing Shadows would be just before you moved on to Stormhaven. That one has a piece where you enter Daedric realms from town. The rest (IIRC) send you via portal, so they don't relate to zones much, and they took the level-dependence off the MQ with One Tamriel.

I see what you mean. Just made the trek to Stormhaven and now I'm heading back to Daggerfall. Guess I need to just roam Tamriel as an intrepid explorer!
