This morning we had snow! biggrin.gif

But it was already melting by the time I got up, and now it's all gone sad.gif

But that's perfect! Just a brief pretty 'picture' to look at then disappearing before causing much problem. tongue.gif That reminds me that a few weeks ago, I woke up to a white Christmas with a solid quarter inch (that's about half a centimeter, mirocu) on the ground. But it did cover the ground and stuck around until mid morning. biggrin.gif

Youīre wrong, Acadian. Snow coming and going like that is not perfect, itīs actually what causes problems (rapid changes). If it sticks around week after week then everythingīs just fine wink.gif

And yes, I AM HOME NOW! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I prefer walking on snow to simply looking at it. I love the way fresh snow crunches underfoot, so it sucks it wasn't around for long enough.

I've seen six snowflakes so far this year, none last year. Yes, I've taken to counting them individually. I really wouldn't mind some full-on snow, I like what it does to the light. Down here in the middle of SE England, we've had abnormally grey skies for months, far fewer sunny intervals than usual.

Sorry you donīt get more snow sad.gif

Might be lucky, up to London next weekend, they've got a bit right now, maybe it'll last. Lots of snow in Britain right now, just not down here in Hampshire, just boring drizzly southeasterly winds. Up to 4cm fall (which isn't going to impress any Canadians or Scandinavians here, I know) in the Midlands, so at least I know where to go to find it...

Well, I didn't envy you northerners over that recent flooding, my sympathies - we barely got sideswiped - so maybe it's fair compensation. (Well, you've done your bit, probably Somerset's turn to get inundated again next time around...)

No worries on that score. I seem to be quite good at giving offence right now, though. Must be the time of year (or the damn weather!!!). It'll pass, I'm sure.

Oh, the Inn mod was out years ago, I pulled it to do some upgrades and got ill, never was able to finish the upgrades. My PC crashed, and I lost all the files now.

It was a lot of fun, the NPC's all had unique dialogue and AI; the Inn was wired for sound as the Player walked through it so they would hear different things at different places, etc. (Example: Outside you could hear the Weynon Priory bells chime the hour, sometimes you could hear the monks singing in the Priory while outside; the Inn regulars snored when they slept; a dog barked in the distance when you went into your suite; birds tweeted in the morning outside; music played in the tavern area (causing the staff to dance occasionally as they worked); etc).

Everything worked well, and it was a lot of fun for everyone playing the RP to "meet at." (plus gave the player a nice home with safe storage; a small inheritance quest; and a very small hidden treasure).

I added a traveling gypsy caravan that showed up on weekends and sold stuff out of tents on the road between the Chorrol South gate and the Weynon Priory that had a bard and the gypsies randomly danced to the bard's lute playing - and surprisingly enough, the members of the Weynon Priory spontaneously visited the stands and ate with the gypsies!

Also, the Countess Leyawiin and her retinue; Honditar; and the girl that runs the Chorrol stables all stopped into the Inn courtyard and hung out for short visits on their trips through that area - also spontaneous, I didn't alter their AI packages at all!

I LOVED that mod, and miss playing it.

Oh, that's truly awful. Might not Nexus still hold an old copy somewhere - or maybe you could get a copy back from someone who downloaded it previously? It's a real shame, it sounds brilliant from your description, I love it when a mod just spontaneously fits in like yours did.

The Wobbly Goblet/Lucky Mudcrab is still on the Nexus,(but missing its file, I just noticed, I'll see what I still have on my system).

I don't know if she incorporated any of the add-ons that were made for it, such as the alterable poster, and the stealable clothes, but you can still download those from the mod thread here.

Edit. I poked around and found a version of it. Download here. I'm not sure what version it was, as it didn't have a version in the file header. It's not the latest, as it still uses the Wobbly Goblet name.
mALX

Yes, Ghastley made some hugely awesome additions to the mod - the Player could pick up a piece of chalk and actually paint on a certain poster on the wall; and Ghastley also made a way to take some of the waitresses clothing off for fun! Ghastley made some huge contributions to the mod; like the gorgeous signs and fixing the errors that were keeping the sound files from playing properly, etc.

And it became a "thing to do" for everyone playing the mod to pose their character in the wine vat in some funny pose and post it; I think Grits's "Jerric" won the prize for the funnest pose, lol.

That place was a blast to play! I miss it!

I love it when that happens with mods too, it makes them so much more fun to play when spontaneous things just occur.

I made about 30 mods, that is the only one I uploaded. Most were improvements on the Player houses or towns to suit my own taste; the rest were just plain fun stuff I wanted in my game. (A bad-tempered mouse follower; a testy fishing pole that made fishing sounds; "Uncle" Crassius Curio bringing his particular fun to Cyrodiil with his art exhibition; boat trips that take you all up and down the Rumare and Niben bays; tables preset with card games or food; a training academy for assassins and mercenaries; etc.

Stop press! This may be a later version The Wobbly Goblet Inn RP Mod-43625-1-77

I had it in my Bash Installers folder, but not installed. If my memory serves, there was a clash with some change I'd made for Clark's game, and I hadn't got round to reconciling it.

Oh, wish you'd uploaded more, I like this sort of 'ambient' mod, sounds like you have a talent for them. I suppose you could have merged a bunch of them to save on .esps too...

Anyway, just grabbed Ghastley's download, installing now, looking forward to first visit. (I have an unpublished inn mod, but promise not to steal your ideas. Actually mine is bogged down as a result of the attached quests...)

EDIT: OK, things move fast round here. Next version...

You are more than welcome to use my ideas in your mod if you give me credit for the original in your mod's credit list; but check the description page on my mod sheet on Nexus for credits in case something you want belongs to someone other than me. You'll have to ask those people permission for their work if you want to use it.

Oh, I would, of course. Anyway, just took a quick look, I like it already just for the version of the Morrowind theme. But, as I surmised, it does indeed clash badly with Unique Landscapes Chorrol Hinterland, which adds a bunch of rocks and some walls that intersect the pub. OTOH, this looks very easily patchable to me. So, if you want to re-upload it some time, I'd be happy to create a compatibility patch for you (could also do a COBL add-on, but that's really easy).

Don't try the first link Ghastley posted; it had some LOD files bundled in it that are not part of the mod and may be what is conflicting with UL; plus it is missing several files. The second link where he has written "Stop the Presses" - that version has all the files (I think, am checking it right now); and does not have those erroneous LOD files; so may not conflict with UL.

No, it's not an LOD problem, that would only show at a distance. Though you're right, there shouldn't be LOD files present and there aren't in the second installer, as you say. I did in fact only look at the second one, and I'm afraid this is a genuine close-up clash. Patching it mostly means disabling a whole bunch of UL's assets in the area and moving a couple of walls. That's easy, but they also make some landscape edits there too. To be treated with delicacy because, in terms of landscape edits, this is close to where UL intersects with the other 800lb gorilla - Better Cities. Finally, ideally, the patch should only depend on UL, which will make it mergeable in Wrye Bash, which I think should work too.

So, I'm implying load order:

This version does not have the gypsy caravan on weekends; and is the vanilla middle class version of the mod (so will look just exactly like the same Inn inside the city of Chorrol that I used as a base for the Inn).

If you prefer an upper class Inn, I made an upper class version of it = retextured the entire Inn with my own textures; added modded furniture and better food/art on the walls, a bathing room, and upgraded the basement, etc. (in the upper class version). I can redo all that if you decide you want to go through the trouble of patching it but would prefer an upper class Inn.

Upper Class entry with better food:

Upper Class upstairs:

One of my card tables:

Upper class basement:

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq67/Ma...zpsfb38f6c7.png

The Gypsy Caravan:

http://i434.photobucket.com/albums/qq67/Ma...zps6a1fbe0c.png

It is just a matter of what you prefer. The reason I made the upper class one was because - the original was just so much like the Inn inside the Chorrol city walls; I felt like it should be different to explain why people would come to it rather than just go to the one inside the city.

But that said, a lot of people prefer the look of the middle class in Oblivion, so - I made both, so people could choose. I wouldn't mind redoing the retexture if someone wanted it.

A lot depends on when endorsements were enabled. Two of mine didn't allow endorsements (because the option was broken when they were uploaded) until they'd been there for several years, collecting none. So one has something like 30 endorsements after 11,000 downloads!
