Yeah, Mutons are something of a jump in difficulty.

Specially Berserkers and Armored Mutons. The mission was an alien landing with a large ship and this damn ship had EVERY CLASS OF MUTON in the game I think. I ended the mission with my main Sniper and Assault Unit. I lost my back up Support, Second Sniper and Heavy who was my Squad Leader.
Regular Mutons don't bother me I'll take those guys out all day but By the Nine I f*ing HATE those Berserkers, You practically NEED to have them as top priority targets and have EVERYONE shoot it.

Yup, berserkers are pretty fun. Best one was in one of my early attempts, one of them smashed through cover and mulched one of my team. And Muton Elites are just nasty, always found them more dangerous than the berserkers. Have you run into sectopods yet? They're a real nightmare on any difficulty

Sectopods are those mechanical like robots with two floating "scouters" right? If so I have taken one down it was with the ship of death. I can't believe I lost three of my A-Team solders on that mission.

Yeah, they stomp around, have some mortar like weapon, fire lasers, and like to overwatch. And then those bloody drones heal them. They're also the best reason to give your heavies heat ammo. Damn things take so much killing, and can dish out so much, a real nuisance. They actually made them harder for Enemy Within from Enemy Unknown, they only take half the damage they used to.

And Xcom's a game that loves to punish you for not thinking before you act. One of the things I love about the game biggrin.gif It's also one of the main reasons I use a bunch of strategies/techniques/ideas borrowed from lets plays of people playing on the highest difficulty. wink.gif

I get paid the 29th and still wandering what to do. I can buy another PS4 Pro or put it layaway which is an option and or get that .44 Magnum out which is also an option.

If you have a big chunk of free time (or multiple sessions, the length is 1:08:33), I highly recommend Ahoy's new video that just came out a few days ago: "POLYBIUS - The Video Game That Doesn't Exist." It is an exceptionally high-quality video where he tries to track down the origins of the myth of Polybius. Incredibly fascinating and very well made.

Hmmm, Khajiit has never heard of this until now. Watched a little bit of that and it was pretty interesting... and weird! Lol

Ah, the dilemma. As much as I love DA:O, the story just feels more restrictive than I'd like right now. Which leaves me a choice between my two TES games. This might come down to a coin flip rollinglaugh.gif

And that's where the dilemma kicks in. Oblivion is Oblivion, and has better magic, guilds, and places to explore that don't have inexplicable backdoors. Skyrim has better looking weapons, armour, and clothes(Skyrim's kind of spoilt me on that front laugh.gif ), and two addons that I've not even gotten around to checking out properly.

I'm leaning towards Skyrim, just because of Dragonborn.

Ah, the dilemma. As much as I love DA:O, the story just feels more restrictive than I'd like right now. Which leaves me a choice between my two TES games. This might come down to a coin flip rollinglaugh.gif

Between the two, that's the one Khajiit would choose. This is going to be heresy for these parts, but the last time this one tried to play Oblivion, he just couldn't get into it.

It took me a few attempts before I could get into it. I got hooked along the way this time, and just finished the main quest last night. Still got plenty to do for the Fighter and Mage guilds, and there's a strange door out in the Niben Bay.

Sheo calls.

Skyrim is a game that irritates me. So many good ideas, so many bad ideas, and so many half-arsed implementations of both. I love the system of equipping to hands, but hate the absurd restriction regarding two-handed weapons. I love the presentation of magic and dual-casting, but hate the limitations of the system and the shortage of spells. I love the addition of perks, but hate that they are structured into trees. The inconsistency is maddening.

Oblivion is a game I find far more comfortable to play than Skyrim, and that I consider to be superior to Skyrim. But now so much of it feels a bit off. The armour seems gaudy, the colours just that little bit too bright, the magic a little too bland(for all it's variety and flexibility) in its presentation. A host of minor irritants that I never even noticed before, and I just can't seem to find a character that fits enough to let me get past those. sad.gif

Edit: And I always end up with the same decision to make when it comes to TES games. Mage-archer, Sorcerer, or Battlemage/Spellsword.

I do like the separate spell hotkey in Oblivion. Makes playing a Nightblade much easier.

Gotta spice it up, Thorny! Sneak archer is OP in Skyrim.

I may have my new graphics card by the end of the week!

Don't you understand what that means?! We can beat the bastards I can play Oblivion and Fallout 3 again! ohmy.gif

Doh! What a doofus I am at times. (At times?) I read the above and racked my brain a good five seconds trying to phathom why I couldn't recall Oblivion having a spellcheck hotkey or why it needs one. Reality then set in. Senility ain't all it's cracked up to be. embarrased.gif panic.gif rollinglaugh.gif

Surprising how much you can miss such a small convenience. Between a button for magic and more hotkeys, Oblivion definitely felt more fluid when changing things up mid-combat.

Too much of a magic junkie to play a pure sneak archer, and switching back and forth between magic and bow just bugs me. And the few attempts at archery I've made in Skyrim failed miserably.

Huh, irritating. Breton was always my go-to for Battlemage or Spellsword characters that were more mage/scholar than warrior. Can't make that look in Skyrim though. It just doesn't seem to work, for Breton's at least.

Either Endar Verano, a stealthy Dunmer mage-archer, or resurrect/tranpslant my Altmer Sorcerer, Macros.

Yeah. Spent 45 minutes earlier trying to get my guy to look right, kept coming out looking like someone from an action film laugh.gif. One attempt even had some resemblance to Gerard Butler in 300 rollinglaugh.gif

Khajiit would suggest starting with the older dark haired, bearded Druid/Necromancer looking dude and then clean him up a bit. Make the beard neater, give him a cleaner haircut, take away all the dirt and eye black, set his weight to perhaps a notch or two above the skinniest setting, and make his facial features less pronounced. For clothing, Skyrim has some robes that look like they are more geared for adventurers and if you wear heavy armor boots and gauntlets it'll give you a nice battlemage look (a battlemage/paladin group called the Vigilants of Stendar wear this setup).

In Oblivion I have a Female Dunmer Crusader my favorite class from TES:O. Also in Skyrim I have a female Imperial ---uh whatever but she seems to favor a mix of heavy and light armor.

Whenever Khajiit thinks about mixing heavy and light armors, usually the explorers/Conquistadors of the late 1400's-1500's come to mind; with shining corslets and morion helmets, and thick leather boots and gloves.
