Sure, but with the other factions seeming mostly to be grey, it's just kind of jarring to see what's essentially a whopping great sign saying that the Legion is evil. I mean, I can't even conceive of playing a character screwed up and twisted enough to support them.

Then you can side with the NCR against them; make them enemies (which is how I usually play it). But when you visit their camp, you see a side of them that makes them gray - they are really nice human beings just being controlled by a leader who is a bit mad with power. But they do as commanded, and always will; so if you side against them, you side against all of them.

I usually spent my visit at their camp without helping them, but did spend time getting to know them. And it bothered me to slaughter them, but I felt like it was best for the future of the Mojave; so did what I had to do (just like they would have done to me if they knew I sided against them before I popped into their tent while they slept with my anti-material rifle, lol.

Sounds like Groucho Marx as Professor Spaulding-

Ah, the difference even a simple comma can make. . .

"Let's eat, Grandma!"

"Let's eat Grandma!"

Rihanae, I use a program that shows me the picture size in pixels? Are you getting an error from this site?

Yeah :/ I used to use photobucket and the avatars would always work, but now when I do it the site says its the wrong pixels, which is odd as it's what I've always used

Ah, the difference even a simple comma can make. . .

"Let's eat, Grandma!"

"Let's eat Grandma!"

"But Mom, I hate my sister's guts!"

"Shut up and keep eating..."

"But Mom, I don't want to go to England!"

"Shut up and keep swimming..."

Rihanae, I use a program that shows me the picture size in pixels? Are you getting an error from this site?

Yeah :/ I used to use photobucket and the avatars would always work, but now when I do it the site says its the wrong pixels, which is odd as it's what I've always used

Photobucket is packaging even direct images as html now for some reason. What you might do is save the image to your PC photo gallery; make sure it is no more than 90 X 90 (I think) and then upload the image you want through the upload avatar feature on here.

Rihanae
WOO! Thanks guys! I think it was both photbucket and the JPEG thing that was the problem!

Anyway, had a damn good day today, for the most part. Picked up Fallout 3 GOTY for a mere £7 after trade ins, I'd have got it for less but I decided to save New Vegas for later, come back to it after playing a different game for a bit.

Got given all three seasons of Vikings, a Firefly t-shirt, and I picked up three dvds; Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, and Enemy at the Gates, for a tenner biggrin.gif I ws planning to watch Wyatt Earp later, but since it's three hours long I'll watch Tombstone instead.

And play a little Fallout 3, of course. Started a character named Avner, gonna be a sniper type, but I haven't gotten him out of the Vault yet, so he might surprise me.

I think Treydog is the one that told me to act out aloud the dialogues to see how they flowed; because hearing them sometimes cues you in to how you would react naturally.

I'll have to give that a try when I get back to it. I think I might leave it 'til tomorrow, stop myself getting stressed out bashing my head against it anymore today.

For now, I think my problem is a combination of not having a completely clear idea of how the character's issues would shape the conversation, and the fact that I didn't get as much sleep as I should have over the weekend.

First thing's first: identify the character's imperative within the scene. What does he/she want? What does he/she want to communicate. Now filter that imperative through the nature of her psychosis… is he/she paranoid, psychotic, etc? Does he/she hear voices, or is he/she haunted by the trauma that left him/her 'pretty screwed up?' Remember that everyone sees themselves as the hero of their personal story and go from there.

That… and get more sleep.gif!

So now is the time to learn some good gun safety practices:

(1) If you see something moving in the woods, it may not be a deer/rabbit/flowerpot/(and it BETTER NOT BE A SQUIRREL!!!!!! ) - it might be a person, so site carefully before pulling the trigger.

And (2) Don't try to clean the gun by looking down the barrel while buffing the trigger.

fml.

Went into town earlier, trying to get some new trousers, replacements for my now somewhat battered cargo pants.

But there's a problem.

The problem being that I need to find trousers with a 30inch waist and a 32inch leg. And I still need a belt to hold them up because I don't really have a waist, and need to rely on bones and belts to hold my trousers up.

Which meant that I couldn't actually get any, because they didn't have any 30-32s sad.gif

I hate trying to get new trousers.

There was a time, years ago, I sported a 28 inch waist, with 29/30 inch legs. Yeah, limited selection for sure. Same with having smallish feet, US size seven in my case. I tend to research my footwear before buying (unless it's a pair of house slippers or some such). I'll settle on exactly what I want (within budget), find who carries it locally, then almost invariably discover that no store stocks it below size 8, occasionally 7 1/2. They will special order it, but I prefer to guaranty fit before committing. If I can't to that, I'd as soon order it myself online, which is usually cheaper than local.
